Excellent rooms with AC, Wifi.
24h attention, bar, reception and well secured place.
Staffs are very very lovely.
Recommend this hotel if you need peace where the city is never sleeping :),

Excellent Hotel in the Center of Accra - Osu Area

Liked  · So - the location is great as it is just around the corner and walking distance from Oxford Street, Osu. The beds were comfy and the owners appear very nice and approachable. The wifi was excellent in room 9 however it was non existent in room 4. 

As a smoker I was pleased that I was able to smoke outside and ashtrays were provided - in Ghana people tend to tell you you can't smoke even if you are in an open place that does not belong to them! So this made it less stressful. Despite the reception guy telling me I could smoke when I was asking for a bottle of water(!)

Disliked  · The noise. I asked for a quiet room and did not get it. I moved room during my stay but it was equally as noisy. I will be honest, I can be very grumpy if I have not slept but I think staying in a 'hotel' you should at least be able to sleep without being woken up at 5:30am to the sound of someone sweeping the floor (how could I hear this I hear you ask?). 

Because they were unable to sweep the floor without hitting the metal bannister with the broom on every stroke!  I don't think, staying in a hotel and asking for a quiet room I should be woken up by a plane at just before 6am, again at 6:22am and at various times during the early morning. AND THEN because I am so tired I end up going to sleep at 9pm (I am on holiday in Ghana......really?!?!) just to be woken at just before 10pm, then at about half 10. 

By the time I fell to sleep I was being woken AGAIN at half FIVE the next morning with the sweeping!!!  I checked out after three days - I could not cope with not being able to sleep and then having to do different bits and pieces the next day.  

Please don't get me wrong, I understand planes have to fly in the sky (it's how I got to Ghana from the UK after all) and as a result of the location they will fly over the building. 

Whilst the owners living there no longer hear the planes as they have become used to them, guests will!  It would of course help if the hotel was sound proofed and had proper double glazing, but they did not and as a result you could literally hear the plane just after take off! AND the owner emailed me to say that the airport must have changed their runway as it is not usually that noisy!!!! REALLY. AND no offer of a part refund due to the noise or my early check out.

had a wonderful stay at Alexander Plaza Hotel(osu)area.the ower were so friendly.homely feeling.hope to see you guys soon.the staffs were so recieving and ready to help in all ways.if i will be back in ghana.surely i will be nowhere else but with you guys

A place with a homely feelings

Alexander Plaza is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Accra. It's tucked in a side street, away from the city noise, but a quick walk to Oxford Street. The rooms were very neat and air conditioned (a welcomed pleasure to this American!). The staff was always kind and willing to help in whatever we may have needed.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends if they were traveling to Accra.
