I will highly recommend staying in Maroussa.Stella is very kind and went above and beyond to make my stay very comfortable. She let me check in early on my arrival and check out late , she offered to take me to town as she was going with her son. The studios are very nice, beautifully decorated, modern and with lovely colours.The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped!  There is a lovely balcony to watch the magnificent sunset.

Stella also offered me a pieced of her delicious homemade cake.

The garden is decorated with lovely plants and flowers and everything is spotless.Stella takes great pride in her job and ensure that all.the guests are satisfied.

Amazing stay

Nice, clean place in good location- 3 minute walk to Agia Anna Beach, supermarket, restaurants. The owner was very nice and made breakfast for us a few times and cleaned the apartment evey day, took away the trash and gave us more toilet paper. Unfortunately our two bedroom apartment was not big enough for a family of four as the dining area situated outside was too small for us and too hot and we ended up having all our meals at restaurants which was not planned and turned out to be quite expensive. Our apartment was lacking privacy as it was on the ground floor where everybody walks by and was lacking a place where we could relax as well. Not recommended for a long stay unless you like to have your meals at restaurants every night. And not particularly recommended for families with small children as there was not enough place for them to play. The TV has only Greek channels so the kids could not watch TV either.

Nice place, great location, but it lacks space and privacy and it is not ideal for long stays.

We loved our 7 night stay here for lots of different reasons. Location is superb- just a few minutes walk from the most stunning beaches on Naxos. Ag Prokopios and Plaka - but away from the crowds. Supermarkets and restaurants very close. Plenty of parking (we think rare at accommodation in Ag Anna) Stylish apartments with beautifully kept gardens and olive trees. The owner Stella never stops working and is always keen to help with advice if asked. Apartment cleaned every day . Stella suggested some fantastic quieter beaches and other places to visit as well as helping us out about how to negotiate the one way roads in and around Chora. Highly recommended.

Great location and style 

Clean at top level, Stella is a force of nature! Very quiet studio located just an hundred metres from one of the best beaches of the island, strategic point if you want to stay near the sea, the restaurants and the little harbour where you can take a daily cruise to reach some nearby little islands. 5 stars!

The place to be 

Hospitable owner (Stella), beautiful outdoors, clean rooms, located within a few minutes walking diastance from the amazing beach of Agia Anna. Definitely recommended as one of the best choices for authentic holidays in Greece!

The areas for improvement
- I arrived very late on a delayed ferry and phoned ahead, the owner said she would wait and prepare a room, I thought that was good of her, until I saw the room and the facilities.

- the shower is not ideal and not what I wanted after a very long ferry ride. I was so tired and just wanted a lovely hot shower before getting into bed. But the shower looked like a tap a few centimetres from the toilet - so off putting. I wouldn't be able to shower without getting water all over the toilet. So I decided not to have a shower and to go straight to bed. When I told the owner about the shower she told me I could go and stay somewhere else - it was past midnight and I was a lone female traveller in a new place. She was most unwelcoming. When she left she said something to someone else in Greek, I think it was a disparaging comment and it just made me feel very uncomfortable.

- That bed was the WORST part, the WORST bed I have EVER slept on. It felt like sleeping on the floor it was ROCK HARD. I slept really badly and when I woke I looked and felt worse than when I went to bed. I had back ache even though I am young and physically very fit.

- that night (about midnight) the owner had said she would swap my room in the morning.
- the shower was actually okay pressure wise, good temperature and power but I had to hold the shower head and the water went everywhere, all over the toilet and as far as the toilet roll, even though I am a slim woman.
- Although she showed me another room in the morning, the two single beds were only slightly softer, and the room itself was still VERY underwhelming and the whole experience had left a really bad taste in my mouth. I felt very down about it.
- I ended up falling asleep on the beach. Thankfully when I woke up I found a guardian angel who offered me something SO MUCH BETTER, for a similar price (only a couple euros difference).

The worst part about my experience is that the owner acknowledged how hard the bed was and when I returned around 8pm she left a note saying that I should sleep in the same room as she could not wait up. As if she was doing me a favour! Thankfully, that was the confirmation and push I needed not to stay a minute longer. It clearly showed that she did not care about customer experience, me enjoying the room or anything just about keeping her rooms occupied and paid for. Never once did she apologise even though she knows how hard that bed is, her attitude seemed to be that I should be lucky to have a place to sleep, which is wholly inappropriate towards a paying customer. 

Regretfully, I paid her the full asking price. But fortunately it was just 30 euros. That said, my experience really warranted 0 payment, but I wanted no stress/argument - just to get out of there. I did not want her bad vibes and her poor accomodation to ruin my holiday anymore. How can anyone charge people to sleep on a bed like that??? Give it to charity, please.

There is a review from 2019 which has some really good advice to the owner about upgrading her facilities. Perhaps if she had taken this advice my experience would have been better. I can see that she cares about the place and the work that she puts in, but things like a good quality bed and shower are BASIC. If she needs to charge more to get these in place then she should consider doing so 
The positives
- the place is spotless, very well cleaned.
- there is a fridge and a hob, so good for those who want to make their own food 
- the outdoor garden is absolutely beautiful, lots of plants and different colours.

Do not stay here

The studios are  a 5 minutes walk to everything,bus station,super markets, coffee shops and the beach. In front of the studios there is a beautiful garden. The rooms are well priced, spotless and well ecquiped.The friendly orner is always taking care of the place.She treated us with goods from her garden and hand made deserts .There is always hot water and air conditions work properly. The upper floor studios have sea view and our studio no 2 was large and beautifully decorated. Overall one of the best experiences I had in the island of Naxos.

Spotless hospitality

While we enjoyed the beautiful Agia Anna area and indeed the location, welcome and hospitality of Stella and the team at Maroussa Studio we feel there could be some small improvements to really make it the best studios in town. Firstly, I would update the fixtures and fittings to new clean ones eg. the bathroom in particular(rusty taps, shower curtain to short, no shower holder for tall people) Also, I would decorate the inside of the studios neutral white and add colour through towels, plants etc, the decor is dated, clean but dated. Also, the mattress in our particular studio was new and very hard and we would like to have seen a mattress foam topper to make the bed more comfortable, just a few ideas.

However, Stella doesn’t stop working! A great business woman and running a smooth business, she tries to help where possible and turns the room around every day, white clean towels, clean room and left just right. 

I hope in the coming years Stella listens to all her feedback on here, makes these little changes and before long have a VERY successful operation.

Potential to be amazing....

We made a reservation for 6 days via telephone after having checked the availability from the internet.
It was high season and maybe there was big demand. The room we got the first 2 days was clean but the bathroom was in bad condition and very small. The toilet was not glued properly so it was moving when you were trying to use it. After complaining to the owner, she said that this was the room we saw on the internet but I can tell that photos are misleading. She said that's the only room available and we can move if we find something else. Of course due to the high season that was very difficult and every other choice was much much more expensive so we stayed. Next morning she said that, if we are still interested, on the 3rd day she could transfer some other guests to our room and move us to theirs, offering us a better price. So we did. Since our move though they didn't clean our room again, or at least that's what it was looking like...
Very bad advertisement for the island...

Bad choice

My Girlfriend and me spent a week at Marousa Studios. We had a lovely, very clean room with ocean view. Just wondeful days. The owner is very nice and helpful. Would I recommend this place at Naxos ? Absolutly ! 5 minutes to walk to the Beach.....
