This place is simple beautiful. The families hospitality is amazing. They  go out of their way to make your stay memorable. It’s a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. We absolutely loved everything about this idyllic spot. We can’t wait to return. Thank you so  so much for our memorable stay. 

Beautiful Red Lake Pension

We have visited Koula almost every year since 2011, and mostly 2 weeks each time. This is a very nice family driven pension, with a fantastic view of the sea, and a short walking distance to an outstanding beach. The pension is clean, friendly, tidy and peacefull. Short walking distance to a lot of restaurants, gym, rentals etc. In their bar, Anna offers whatever you need for breakfast or lunch. The pool is attractive, with a close to infinity pool feeling. If you stay in Koula’s, you will relax, but dont expect the most fancy offers, partying, etc. This is a quiet and relaxing place for those that appreciate that. Have a nice stay.

Very nice pension

We recieved a very warm welcome from Koulas and felt the Pension Red Lake was a very good choice for our family. Even in September Agios Prokopios is very busy and we enjoyed being set back from the main town, but still with the views and easy access to the restaurants in the evening (10 minute walk). 

We stayed in the 2 bed family apartment with a beauitful balcony offering views towards the sea. The rooms were simple, but very clean. Koulas' family work hard to make this a special place to stay  . We also really enjoyed time by the big, beautiful pool which was never very busy. My daughter loved the cats which roamed around the property.

We were also pleased to have a car so that we could explore different parts of the island. The centre is beautiful and the East coast really untouristy.

Quiet location with great views and fabulous pool

Only a shortish stay (4 nights) but everything was perfect. We only caught Anna's name but everyone at Koulas Pensions made us feel very welcome and were always on hand to offer advice on the local area and the whole of Naxos. Breakfast overlooking a beautiful pool with the sea also in full view was the perfect way to start the day. Very clean rooms in a quiet location but with shops/restaurants less than 10 minute walk away. Also less than 10 minutes minutes to the most stunning turquoise clear sea on a perfect beach. Perfect

We returned back here after 17 years, having been multiple times in the 1990's.
We chose Red Lake, as it is a true family owned and run, spotlessly clean Pension block, now with added luxury of the swimming pool!! We brought our teenage daughter, her first time in Greece and she loved it!!
Koulas and her family, as always, where fantastic. 
Seeing  Koulas's daughters all grown up with children of their own was emotional.
We have made plans to return for my retirement holiday in a few years time and plan to stay for 4 weeks.
Thank you to Koulas, her husband Vasilli and their beautiful daughters Sophia and Anna for a truly fantastic welcome and an unforgettable time at Red Lake.
Highly recommend this accommodation, for it's location and the hospitality of its owners.

Amazing, as always

My family and I returned to Koula's Pension for (probably) the 5th time. It was excellent as always, everything was absolutely superb. 

In my last review, I wrote that the internet wasn't really par with today's standards, and I'm thrilled to say that it has been upgraded since then. 

Unfortunately, the room we usually have was already reserved, so instead, we lived in one of the smaller apartments. But even though it was smaller, we were very pleased with the room, and especially the balcony.

We will be back again in 2 years time, as always.

A Pleasure Once Again

We stayed at koulas pension for 9 nights. The accomadation was really good value for money. Quiet location but only 5 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. The pool was immaculately clean and the snack bar served some really good food. The rooms were spacious and the bed was so comfortable. They were cleaned every day and the bedding was changed every couple of days. I have got to mention the staff, they were truly amazing and so helpful. What a lovely family they made our holiday so pleasure able . Thankyou to you all. I would recommend this accomadation to everyone and would definitely return. Kolas pension fantastic accomadation

Really amazing pool! great views, close walk to seafront, the quiet side (nudist nearby) - lovely rooms on second floor but ground floor rooms a little disappointing - make sure you get second floor!!

Amazing pool

Clean comfortable room with lovely views. Anna and her family are so friendly and helpful. Quiet location but convenient for beach and restaurants. Great breakfasts at the pool bar after a swim in the gorgeous pool. Very near bus stop for a trip to Naxos town.  Would highly recommend Koalas Pension. Greece at its best.

Relaxing stay in a fab property.

Upon arrival the owner showed us to our room, later on she showed us a map of the island and told us about all the places to visit. This is a family run hotel and they are all polite and welcoming.

We had booked a double bed but when we got to our room we had twin beds. The room was basic but clean. Sadly the room had no safe or hair dryer but we were provided with towels and equipment for cooking. The shower did not have a curtain which meant everytime we had a shower the water went all over the bathroom floor. Outside our room was a spacious patio with a washing line. The hotel did have a nice quiet pool which had a great view of the beach and red lake.

We asked if we could be picked up from the port but the owners of the hotel advised us to hire a car or get a bus but that also meant we needed to take a long walk.. so we went for car hire which cost us €60 a day. I would strongly recommend hiring a car as Naxos is a big island and places are not always walking distance. We hired a car and visited different beaches, there were lovely hidden gems. 

When checking out the tone was not as polite as when we had arrived. As some money had already been taken out from our credit card by the hotel we wanted to make sure that had either been returned as a safety deposit or would be subtracted from the main bill. Rather than being given a polite explanation we were met with a 'nothing has been taken'. That was not the case, and when further discussed and we were told 'it was just for security' and quickly hurried into paying the bill and being gone. We have checked that the right amount has been taken from our account but the end encounter with the hotel has left a bad taste, which is a great shame.

If i came back to Naxos I would not rush back here, the stay was ok. It had positives such as being clean, a peaceful pool with a lovely view. But there is room for improvement such as the rooms need updating and also providing a safe for valuables, a hair dryer and shower curtain.
