We returned to Panokosmos to relax, enjoy the views, the peace & quiet and of course  for the excellent, attentive yet at the same time discreet service offered by Yasmin and John. This time we stayed in the rooftop apartment which was absolutely perfect for us! Morning yoga on the huge rooftop terasse, simple dinners made ourselves for quiet evenings. Thank you Yasmin for letting me pick zucchini flowers to stuff & eat! We were also spoil on two evenings with a delicous 3-cours meal in the garden. Our personal highlight was the wonderful breakfast served every morning in a different place in the garden - such a surprise every day ... thank you for all the healthy fruit, granola and yoghurt, as well as starting off one day with some Raki!! :-). Apertifs at sunset, watching eagles and swallows, listening to the goats bells, what more could one want?
If you want peace, qualitly, discreetness and excellent food, you will be happy here!

Another fantastic stay in this amazing villa

This is more a thank you to team Yasmin and John than a review, because everything I want to say has already  been said, and each and every good review myself and my partner agree with everything previous guests have said. So a massive thank you for making our recent stay so special, whilst staying in one of your superb comfortable, immaculately kept apartments and sharing your wonderful garden and serving us such fabulous food...I will always remember looking out of the window one morning and seeing John picking figs which then appeared on our breakfast plates...If you are reading this and considering a visit to Crete you really could not stay in a better place...Go with an adventurous mind, or a lazy one, there's loads to do on the island, however, some days it's hard to leave Panocosmos, but when you do it's nice to get back to the cocktails waiting for you...oh and go with an appetite, Yasmin and John provide the most glorious breakfasts. You will also find good food in the local tavernas. On a practical note, a car is pretty much essential and will allow you to enjoy all that the island has to offer. Panokosmos is a delightful, tranquil place and we'd happily return when we can. Thanks again Yasmin and John!

Fabulous Panocosmos

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Panokosmos! The location is breath-taking (on top of a moutain!) and our hosts (John and Yasmin) made our stay truly unique and memorable. 

Breakfasts were my favourite part of the day, a banquet of freshly made bread rolls, orange juices, home-made jams, fresh fruits, waffles, omelettes, mueslis, etc and many other treats, all locally sourced and carefully prepared and delivered. Breakfast was presented to us in different parts of the garden each morning, so that we could enjoy the various wonderful mountain views. It was so lovely to have John and Yasmin describe the produce and food being served. We also got a different coffee blend each morning! For two of the nights we had 3 course dinners which were absolutely exceptional...( I'm still dreaming about Yasmins homade orange tiramisu - yum!) 

Our hosts were so friendly and were there when we needed them, they have extremely good knowledge of the area and were able to give recommendations, maps and directions depending on what we wanted to do. But also they were not intrusive in the slightest and left us alone to relax and enjoy our holiday.

Our hosts made the effort to get to know us before and during our stay, and as a result, our experience felt tailored to us. We felt like VIP's! There were lots of lovely personal touches and menus were tailored to our likes/ dislikes and our preferred portion sizes!! They really thought of everything and the care and attention to detail shines throughout every aspect of Panokosmos. There is not one thing I would change and I am already planning to return! Wish I knew about this place for my honeymoon – it would make a lovely honeymoon destination as it is so beautiful, relaxing and private! My husband found it a lovely place to unwind, meditate and relax.

Would highly recommend. We had the roof top apartment – great for us as we were a group of 3, also great for star gazing! All rooms very clean and extremely well equipped. My sister had the room with the sofa bed and found it very comfortable!

We had loosely planned some things to do in the local area, but actually ended up spending most of our time at Panokosmoms because it was just so wonderful!!(However even though it feels very remote, there is lots do to near by if you fancy it!)

5 Star service at Panokosmos

From my initial enquiry to the debrief on the day we left, Yasmin & John made sure our every need was addressed.

To be asked in person at the end of our week for comments and suggestions as to what they could do better and what we thought worked or didn’t, in my experience, is exceptional and again demonstrates how much care and thought they both put in to making sure guests really do come away feeling totally satisfied with their stay. 

I’m a picky person who can easily notice where corners have been cut or service fails to deliver. In the case of Panokosmos I could not find fault with anything - a 1st for me!

Paradise & 5 star service

Panokosmos is truly special. Yasmin and John have created something unique and authentic. Located at the foot of the White Mountains, with fabulous access and views to the mountains and the sea, their respect for Cretan cultures, foods, wines and histories is outstanding. Our apartment was superb with great space, every amenity you could need to make a meal or relax or have a swim in the pool or watch the sun rise over Souda Bay or fall in the dusk over the mountains. We visited local villages, met the shepherds, came to know their flocks a little and to understand more about Byzantine rituals and ways. We enjoyed amazing breakfasts with fresh fruits, coffees from across the globe and nutritious muselis, homemade breads, yoghurts, honey, cheeses and more. Y and J can pack a powerful Negroni for you in the evening but even better, they enabled the stress of the world to fall from our shoulders over this week as they shared this magical place with us.

A terrific time at Panokosmos

B&B doesn't quite do justice to this lovely spot. Stunning views and a great pool set in a delightful  garden surrounding a stunning modernised villa. We stayed in the rooftop apartment: spacious, v clean, and well-equipped. Own terrace and ideal for self catering on those evenings when you want to stay in. But the surrounding Cretan countryside will tempt you to get out and about. It is simply stunning with a history that will fascinate you. The legendary Cretan hospitality was, we found, just about universal 
The breakfasts live up to the billing: delicious and sometimes inspired!  The hosts John & Yasmin could not have been more welcoming our helpful.  As well as serving fine food and wine, they have a huge range of resources, advice and information on Crete. they really provide a concierge style service of very high quality and offer great ideas on design of day trips. They were especially helpful to us in doing the airport transits, and securing a terrific car hire deal. And provided really useful details on local walks etc
The home baked bread is superb too; and John has an in-depth knowledge of Cretan wine.  
To cap it off J&Y are the most charming and interesting of people - and very fine hosts,  
Highly recommended....we'll be back. Note that it’s possible to stay here without a car - John and Yasmin are happy to arrange taxi tours and the like. But in reality for most people a hire car is essential. The local hire company at Kalyves is excellent and very reasonably priced

A wonderful villa retreat: ideal for a couple and great as a base to explore and experience Crete

We went to Panokosmos for our honeymoon and Yasmin's and John's home away from home for us has been absolutely magical.
If we could have dreamt up paradise, an oasis to go to, we would probably have failed compared to what Panokosmos has given us – “Heaven on Crete” - surrounded with so much beauty. The views, the apartment, the gardens, the breakfasts and most of all the hosts …SPECTACULAR.
We are from US and we have traveled all over the world. In our experience there are many excellent places to stay at. But few exceed all expectations and have that extra X factor that makes you smile forever when you think back on the time you spent there. Yasmin's and John's Panokosmos is one of those.
The views of the mountains and gorges and the sea are spectacular. The seaside is only half an hour away, a drive through olive groves, orange orchards, (and many goats & sheep). John & Yasmin's cooking was wonderful, but there are also restaurants on the shore, where you can eat fresh fish and listen to the gentle lap of the waves. Come to Crete; stay at Panokosmos; you won't regret it.

Magical place

We spent three days at Panokosmos which is not far from the great archeological site Aptera and city Chania. Situated on a hill there are magnificent views from the rooftop apartment and the rest of the property. The owners are incredibly friendly and service minded. Every detail is thought of which make the guests feel completely taken care of and which makes the stay there great! Every morning we had a delicious breakfast at a different spot on the property. The optional meals, with good variety of wines, were also very nice and tasty. It is highly recommended!

Glorious views and service

I have had the opportunity to travel much of the world, and have yet to discover a more perfect location to relax and rejuvenate, hosted by some of the most wonderful people I have had the opportunity to meet in my journeys. John and Yasmin are truly amazing hosts. They make you feel like you are part of their family, while not being intrusive and allowing you to enjoy yourself and experience every aspect of what Crete has to offer. The house is wonderfully situated high on the cliffs which allows you to take in the beautiful views in every direction. The gardens are immaculate and complete with multiple, naturally shaded, relaxation or mediation spots. If that wasn't enough, they prepare the most immaculate meals, all supplied from the local area complete with wines or beer which is also locally grown and brewed. If you are looking for a secluded, beautiful location within a short drive of historical sites, beaches, or hiking trails, this will far exceed your expectations. The location and amenities alone make taking a holiday at Panokosmos well worth it, but the added benefit of being able to stay and enjoy the fantastic company of two such wonderful hosts will make this a place I will always long to return to.

Wonderful memories

John and Yasmin as always surpass all expectations. The perfect combination of privacy and five star service. The meals are superb. They use local cuisine and perfect it. The company is even better. John and Yasmin each bring a unique and special personality which results in an amazing stay. You feel like you're staying with family. Myself along with my brother and his wife stayed here for several days in the first part of July. We did everything from hiking in the surrounding area to just lounging at the pool. The perfect location for anything. This is my fourth time to Crete. I return to friends, and John and Yasmin continue to host guests in the most picturesque Villa in all of Crete.
