We love Poppy Villas! Amazing view, beautifully furnished and very clean villas and flats, the world's best looked after pool, top location, awesome beach... We have just been to Poppy Villas for the second time after we already stayed there in 2018 and it is a place we always want to come back to. The Poppy family is making a huge effort to look after their place and it is such a pleasure to stay there. Its only a few steps down to the beach, there is a good place to eat and a little shop. And everyone is so friendly. Perfect holiday.

Holidays in paradise

I can’t praise Poppy highly enough. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The pool is excellent. It’s just over the road from tavernas and the beach. The location and views are just stunning and I would challenge anywhere to beat them. This feels like our second home and it’s the Trantas family that makes it so. They are so warm, friendly and welcoming and they helped us to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago.  To prove how good it is we’ve just had our 30th visit there in June and are going back in August.

First Class

Very clean, well equiped appartment. Above the main road so silent. Near to the beach with splendid view over the sea and the mountains. Nice swimming pool, beautifull flowers and plants. Private parking.

An appartment with a view

We adore this place! Been coming here for over 25 years and Mrs Poppy, George and their daughter Maria are like family. The most beautiful setting and lovely, clean and bright villas/apartments, no music blaring out from guests or complex, just a totally relaxing experience. If you like the hustle and bustle of all inclusive big hotels this is NOT for you...a relaxing, peaceful and beautiful place, particularly for couples X

Our little corner of paradise!!

Stayed at Poppy Villas in June for two weeks. The place is immaculate, run by a lovely family. The apartment was very clean, bins emptied every day. The view from our unit no. 1 was amazing, the large balcony allowed to seat there for hours, to have breakfast, lunch or dinner looking at the stunning view. The pool is very big but very deep and in June was very cold. Maria was so lovely, that I felt she was family when we left there. The only thing I have to complain about, is seeing we were staying there for two weeks, and had a great oven, it would have been nice to have the staples like salt, pepper, coffee and tea available so we would not have to rush out and buy these just so we could have a cup of coffee on our first day and didn’t need to buy salt and pepper. This is my only complain. Otherwise we are already planning on staying there on our next visit. Thank Maria and Kiria Poppy for making us so welcome.

Great location friendly owners stunning views

A week at Poppy Villas is just the best place to totally relax and chill out. Perfect apartments and villas.  All you need for a fab holiday. Perfect care from Maria who is always in hand. These apartments are in an amazing part of Crete to enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday, tavernas near by and Agios Nikolaos on 15 minutes away if you want the nightlife and  a change of scene.  Thank you Nikos and Maria and all the family are so welcoming and kind.

Just the best

After a very rocky start to our trip to Crete with a crooked hotel operator running the disgustingly filthy ‘Traditional Homes of Crete’ which we vacated after 1 night, we found Poppy Villas.

We were welcomed to this beautiful family run property and provided with a wonderful , clean and very spacious villa. Directly opposite the sea, an easy walk to the beach, reliable wifi and a fantastic pool, we could not ask for more.

Perfect for family holidays and  I agree with previous reviews that the 2 star hotel rating does not do this place justice at all.

Would stay here again without any hesitation.

Best family accommodation ever!

We have just returned from a lovely 10 day family holiday at Poppy Villas. We have stayed in this area quite a few times before but this is our first at Poppy Villas. The apartments are kept immaculately clean by Maira & are the most spacious we have stayed in. The location couldn’t have been better for us. 5 minutes to Agios Nikolaos & just across the road to the beach. The pool is a great size & always plenty of sun beds available. The views are amazing. Missing waking up to them each morning! Hoping to book to come back next year :)

2 stars do not do this lovely, small complex of villas justice. Amazing views from our patio and a lovely, large, bright and well equipped villa. Great location for easy access to Agios Nikolas, but in a slightly quieter area with a fantastic small beach just across the road and a couple of lovely bars/ tavernas a 2 minute walk away. Brilliant sized pool for the amount of villas in the complex with ample sun loungers. Most importantly an incredibly friendly, family run holiday complex. We were always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much bother. The flowers and fruit and vegetables growing in the garden are all beautiful.
