We stayed one night after ferry from Samothraki, very convenient for the port and the bus station, easily walked with luggage, staff were okay and buffet breakfast was fine.
Room was clean and tidy and bathroom fine.
maybe a little too expensive at 50 euro.

That shower curtain must be fixed with Screws! Not a broken piece of tile! This will summarise my review .I do not expect a better room for the price  i paid for ,  i get it but at least , Fuctioning room and amenities.. Please

Location, Dire and Lust

Very conveniently situated within walking distance of the harbour, train station, and the KTEL bus station for connections to Thessaloniki and Kavala.

We paid 50 Euros through a hotel booking website for a double room including breakfast.
On arrival we were greeted by a man with a squint in his right eye. The welcome dialogue was as follows:

Guest: Hi, I have reservation for xxx
Squint: Yes. One passport, please.
Guest: (hands over passport)
Squint: (looking in two directions but not at guest and handing over remote control for TV and room key) Room xxx.
Guest: Thanks

Not exactly a warm welcome. In fact it was the most dire of welcomes I’ve ever received. Never mind, I didn’t have to sleep with the guy.

Up in the lift to the 4th floor and a strong smell of cigarettes was evident. On opening the door, we were overcome by old cigarette smoke and a strange musty dampness despite the heat of mid-June. There was some mould on one corner of the ceiling that could have been responsible for the damp. The beds were clean enough and the retro-styled bathroom did the job but was in need of renovation. Even a small change of silicon filler to replace the mould-ridden stuff would have gone a long way to making it nicer. There was a bath, but no plug for it.

Parents of young children at an inquisitive age will have fun explaining the cries of lust that can easily be heard echoing through the rooms and down the corridor due to excellent acoustics caused by tiled flooring.  It’s great fun trying to identify the languages through the standard phrases of “yes” and all the other bedtime greats. I suppose prim parents could just tell their kids that the guests were communicating with each other through the rooms, or simply just coming together in an act of faith, because there was a lot of shouting at two well-known biblical characters.

I had a good enough sleep though, and the air conditioning worked fine. I did shout “Oh Moses”, just to confuse everyone and help out any prim parents.

We didn’t take breakfast but it didn’t look like we missed much anyway. There was a big pot of filter coffee, some Spanish orange juice, bread and fanny butters, slices of luncheon meat and processed cheese from Bulgaria, German marble cake and cereals.

I’d recommend this hotel for a 1 night stay while you’re en-route to better places. At 50 Euros, it was too expensive due to the need for renovation. I’d pay 35, indeed, that’s what it should be when compared to other places I’ve stayed at in Athens or Thessaloniki.

We stayed here twice, so that’s why my photos are of different rooms. The second room we had was in more need of repair.

Renovate to Motivate

Perfect location if you want to stay in the very heart of the city, basic amenities, humidity on bathroom wall, basic breakfast, friendly staff, not convenient if you have a car (to park), price following the value...almost!

Paid 40 eur for single room and a room was of a size of a closet, not too clean and very noisy. The walls are so thin that whoever walks and talks in the hotel corridor feels like it is inside the room. Breakfast included but very limited selection. Location in great. in the center of the city. Although there is wi fi in the rooms, it didn't work in my room.
