I was with a friend in May 2014, the weather was not very lucky, it was cool, they rented a car and went around the island.In Crete there are many beautiful places: Balos, Elaphanyssy, the village of Agripoli with waterfalls, the gorge of Mile, G. Rethymno, Ghania, the bay of Stefan, everything is definitely worth visiting! but take the car and be prepared for a lot of serpentines, and narrow roads where on one side of the rock, on the other side of the cliff.But the stunning views are worth seeing! Stay in a very nice village with a charming bay.But the village is very small and if you don't go anywhere it will be very boring.

It's a good hotel!

The staff were excellent and extremely helpful throughout our stay.  The cleaning staff were thorough.  Excellent food choices for breakfast and dinner.  The actual hotel and facilities were lovely, comfortable, and well thought out   Therre was the additional use of their other building across the road with entertainment, pool and bar on the roof top.  Would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Crete.  

Wonderful Holiday

Again a really lovely week at the Almyrida Beach Hotel. A very comfortable Hotel wonderful helpful and friendly Staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble from anyone. Excellent food and a lovely bar. Will be back again next year.

Excellent service , high level of cleanliness,choice of three swimming pools and so close to the beach.
Evening meal and Breakfast  are Buffet but always something to please most appetites, 
Well stocked bar at reasonable prices 

Super Hotel

The Beach hotel is located right next to the beach and is clean, comfortable and attractive. It has a lovely pool area for relaxing through the day. The staff are helpful and friendly, especially the bar staff. We had a sea view room with balcony, which was cleaned daily. It's worth checking the rooms before booking as some have showers over baths, while others have showers only. Tea and coffee are available in the rooms - but they don't do milk, so remember to buy some before bed time ready for the morning cuppa. We used the restaurant for breakfast. Food is reasonably varied, and there is a small outdoor terrace area at the back.  We had one evening meal in the rooftop restaurant of the Residence over the road, which was very good indeed. The rest of the time we ate in the tavernas, most of which serve traditional Greek/Cretan food and have great views of the bay. The resort is not a place to visit if you want oodles of nightlife. It is a laid back resort that still looks and feels very Greek, while still catering well for the tourists. The bay is absolutely magnificent, surrounded by mountains it is a real photo stop. For the younger and fitter there are interesting walks. For those of us less able, there are buses, hire cars and taxis, all reasonably priced. The local bus service is a bit limited, but you can get into Chania easily, where there are good transport links elsewhere. We went on one organised tour to a winery and an olive farm. This was well organised and interesting, - thank you Thomson.

Peaceful week, beautiful weather.

This is a gem of a place! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were always helpful, friendly and smiling. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well looked after. Our room was a good size with a very comfy bed.  Breakfast was typical Greek with some hot food cooked to order - they made great omelettes.  Coffee a bit disappointing.  Super selection of books available in the lobby for a donation to a local charity - such a lovely idea. 
You have the use of the facilities in the hotel over the road.  We tried the rooftop infinity pool which has an amazing view over the sea but was a tad chilly in October! Nice rooftop bar as well with live music a couple of evenings a week -the guitarist/singer we saw the night before we came home was fantastic.
If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday this is the place.

Wellness hotel

Almyrida is a small, quiet place, far from the mainstream. Almyrida Beach Hotel is a sightseeing operation, without any special additions, pleasantly human. Well run, good cuisine and extremely hospitable staff.

A Discovery

Basically, there's nothing to say about the hotel; it's very clean (rooms are made daily), the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is right on the beach next to the restaurant promenade. The double room (mountain view): Pro: Very clean, with balcony, super air conditioning, big bed, big room, super room service, good shower/WC, every day new towels counter: it's extremely bright; you can just hear everything from the dra (strata noise, etc.) and besides, the bathroom is very small; to two inside it's almost impossible, the bed is very hard as it stops in most hotels and since there are usually only a few but it's so many pieces of room in general: we've had breakfast, including a nice shower/WC, every day new towels counter: it's extremely bright; so we've never had a nice place to stay in the hotel without a supermarket, so there's a lot of freshness and freshness in the whole area of the hotel.

Good hotel.

Clean rooms, super friendly receptionist, good breakfast buffet (even with gluten-free bread!), a few steps from the beach and restaurants, with a nice pool. We felt very comfortable in the hotel and the place. The only negative point: the room smelled like cigarette smoke. Almyrida is a beautiful little place with sandy and pebble beaches and good choice of restaurants. Bus to Chania runs several times a day (about 35' trip) and there are nice walks in the area.
