Stayed her for a couple of nights in June visiting friends on the island. Travelled by ferry from Ikaria, also fabulous, via Mykonos. We were met at the port by Maddy the owners daughter who looked after us very well. She was super friendly, and always available and on call for information about the property, restaurants and the island in general. The accommodation, a converted windmill, consisted of three levels. Kitchen on the ground floor, bathroom above, bedroom at the top. All nicely equipped, very quirky, very comfortable. The accommodation benefits from spacious terracing with fabulous views of the town (old and new). There is also shade and shelter for an al fresco breakfast and / or sundowners. All of this in a quiet area just a short work from the attractions of Syros Town. You won't walk back though. Very steep. Taxi recommended. One of the biggest and surprise benefits of the accommodation was the food and drink provided. Wonderful breads, wine, jams, fruits, cheeses, juices, you name it. All of the highest quality! We loved our short stay here. Professional first class service for sure. We even got a ride back to the port from the owner. Should you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed.

Outstanding and unique experience

My partner and myself had the most lovely stay at the windmill. I have always been fascinated by windmills as a child so staying in one was a dream came true. The windmill is located at the top of the hill and Mary was nice enough to come pick us at the port before our rental car arrived. The windmill is a perfect and romantic accommodation for couples with an enchanting view of Syros and a beautiful garden. We visited during the chilly winter and the electric blanket kept us warm and comfortable at night. Be prepared for some steps - it’s worth it though. Mary is a super lovely owner and we will love to visit again in the summer someday.

Memorable stay at the charming windmill

This was the absolute best stay of our month-long trip to Greece. The windmill is magical and charming. Mary, the owner, can not do enough to make sure your stay is perfect in every way. She even went to a local bakery to get gluten-free treats for me. Every detail was perfect. The outside area was perfect to work at in the mornings. The small village of Anos Siros, and the beautiful churches all add to the enchantment of this windmill. Thank you Mary ...we will return!

Enchanting Stay in a Windmill!

Great location with the fantastic view. The condition of the windmill is excellent - renovated, beautiful and comfortable. The owners make the stay very enjoyable with great service and tasty food for the breakfast. Highly recommended.

Fantastic windy hill

Great location, layout, atmosphere, view, amenities and facilities. The windmill turned into a cozy, beautiful, yet very practical and fully equipped sanctuary, ideal for couples, families, group of friends (like ourselves) or even solo travelers. Mary, an amazing , from the warmest welcoming on our arrival day, to the wonderful assistance and family-like treatment during our entire stay. A unique experience that nobody would want to miss, definitely going back!

Memorable experience

Where do I begin? The host was absolutely amazing and her hospitality really added to our amazing experience. We first saw this accommodation on booking and thought it was so neat we actually planned out Greece island hopping trip around Syros.  The views are amazing and it was nice to sit out in the outdoor “living room” throughout the day.  We were content just sitting and relaxing and enjoying the views. 

Not only were the views great but our hits made sure we had food/breakfast. We were so spoiled! We were able to have some outstanding breakfast and snacks with the food she provided us to get creative with. She also made us a fantastic Greek salad and homemade lemonade. 

The hospitality was over the top outstanding. If you are looking for a place to stay in Syros this was an amazing experience! Absolutely unique and fun experience.  We also woke early to see the sunrise.....it was breathtaking!

I might also add there were two donkeys just down the road that I went to see every morning. Ha ha. It was fun to go visit. But if your not an animal person, don’t worry they are very quiet and you would never know they were there. 

We were originally going to rent a car but then opted not to since we could get to the main town walk about 10 minutes. Humber, there was also good and drinks just down the hill too. We ended up walking down and taking a taxi up for only 5 euros. We really didn’t need a car so that worked out well. We enjoyed the views on the walk down. If your brave or in shape you can walk back up. We were just too lazy and rather pay the 5 euro to come back up. 

This is a MUST stay!!! And I would add a great place for couples.  Come see the host Maria and enjoy and absolutely amazing experience in Syros!

Amazing experience and hospitality

I absolutely loved our honeymoon at Anemomylo Syro.  It was beautiful and the island itself was so laid back and relaxed that we truly enjoyed our stay.  From the windmill we could actually see the entire island and it was so unique to stay in a renovated windmill.  Mary, the owner, was also amazing.  She made sure our stay was perfect by filling us in on the island's happenings and making sure we had breakfast.  Definitely recommend!

The windmill was great !!! Really a must in Andros. The host Mairi was more than helpful and her hospitality great . The breakfast was perfect and the location and view astonishing!!

Great place

It is THE place to stay on the island. Everyone knows it. Beautifully transformed into a wonderful rental and also has a large terrace area protected from the wind. Perfect of breakfast and an evening glass of wine. The view is mesmerizing. I can't even imagine staying anywhere else while on the island. Wonderful hostess!

Amazing!

From the outside all looks lovely well restored building and they have made the grounds very usable with a nice table and covered area to the rear. 
Inside continues in the same way it feels like a quality restoration. Layout is unusual but what can you expect your in a windmill! But it actually works very well. The kitchen/ seating area is on the ground floor the bathroom above and the bedroom at the top. 
We were picked up by the owner even though we were on a late ferry that was also running late, she also dropped us of at the ferry on leaving day. She took us on a quick tour of what to see in town before taking us to the windmill. She obviously loves the island and that comes across as she talks to you. 
We unfortunately only stayed 2 nights but there was a really nice and generous selection of supplies for breakfast and some wine/ beers and soft drinks. Pleasant surprise when we left of a little bag of local goodies aswell.
