Very close to the port and to the city center on foot, picturesque and quiet neighborhood, confortable rooms with daily cleaning service. Aria was a pleasant and willing to help host. Strongly recommended

Fantastic place and warm hospitality

I choose Monte Kristo Hotel because of its beautiful photos and its noble decoration. It was also highly scored at booking.com which is truly surprising since there are certainly cleaner rooms than the one I stayed in Monte Kristo. Ok, our balcony was dirty and it had a cigarette stub but I wouldn’t even mention it if my sleep was silent. The thing is, that the hotel is located at the entrance of the old city and all motorbikes are using the passage in order to enter the city. Additionally,  locals are sitting on the street chatting all day until late at night. Finally, the mattress! Ok, this was the thinnest mattress ever, so hard it felt like sleeping on a yoga mat. Frankly, I don’t give a penny if the bath is small and the shower tiny. But I do care if I have a hard time all night trying to sleep with all that noise on such a firm mattress.

Pretty but noisy

This was awful! I hated it! They said they had a room for four people and when we opened the door there was a queen bed and 2 “twin” beds. I sat on one of the twins and it was a 1 1/2 INCH MATTRESS TOPPER and a spring and it broke. The beds were so uncomfortable. I got it the shower and it was freezing. Other than everything else, the “hotel” was very well located. I mean the entire island of Syros is very small, but it was very centrally located. 

For the last thing, the lady who managed the ”hotel” was EXTREMELY SWEET AND KIND. She was so helpful and she was doing her best to really keep this business running. One beach that I recommended is Kini Beach. It is the most beautiful, it is the kind of beach where it is very sandy and really shallow far out. It was beautiful. The bus only ran twice a day, which was very inconvenient, so we rented a car, which I definelty recommend because you will really want to explore this beautiful island. There is a restaurant next to Kini beach which was great, something like Dyo Tzazikia or some5ing but it was incredible. I definitely recommend this island, but not this hotel.

Monte kristo syros ermoupolis

Really really great stay. We stayed for 3 nights in August 2016. It's a quaint hotel perfectly located to explore the town. We stayed in the da Vinci room and although maybe not the largest hotel room in the world, it was lovely and spacious with everything we needed. The en suite is a wet room but drains perfectly where it should meaning no wet floors where you don't want them. It was really clean, obviously hygienic, the bed sheets were spotless and the towels the softest I've ever felt. The fridge was really cold and enough room in it for three big bottles of water and more. 
The thing that really stood out to us was how good they were to us. We were due to get a 7am ferry on the morning of our departure, due to the limited reception hours, this would mean leaving before reception opened. When booking the ferry we realised we'd miss breakfast and had every intention to buy some on the ferry. However when we queried what to do with our room key, we were really pleasantly surprised to find that he hotel was happy to sort a breakfast out for us, we had the choice of milk or juice left in our fridge for us which was so much more than we needed or would have expected. Really amazing customer service and very very friendly.
