This was our 2nd visit to Irida Maisonettes and it continues to amaze us. Popi the hostess is so friendly and helpful, and the houses with their open space concept offer magnificent views of the aegean, the sunsets and the landscape. The gardens are lovely and there is ample parking for cars. We especially appreciate the location, off the beaten path, aprox 5 minutes drive downhill to the nearest village. The houses are well equipped and clean. We will definitely return.

This place is huge very impressed, we stayed 7 days. Ms Popi was really helpful, she replaced the sofa downstairs for a double bed and she put the sofa on the balcony! How great, we spent all the mornings and late nights there, on top of the hill great views. The kitchen could be bit more equipped (with a big pot for 4). We felt like home, really enjoyed our stay. You definitely need a car to stay there and the road is not good, but that didn't bother us.

we've arrived after a long night with no sleep and a long drive. true, the road is not so good and there is no sign to know where the maisonette is.
but then you arrive to the place, and you are overwhelmed by the beauty of this place...
the place has the best view, and the patio is very nice and comfortable to eat in.
as for the house, it's was clean enough for our standarts, every couple of days popi is cleaning and changing everything. the kitchen has everything, even a stove and a big fridge.
small tip: rent some kind of vehicle to travel around and get back.

My husband and I spent four nights at Irida in mid-September.  We only wish it could have been longer.  Popi is very welcoming and responsive via email and telephone.  She provided us with excellent directions to the place and offered us any assistance while we were there.   Everything was clean and in good order when we arrived.  The landscaping is beautiful and the maisonettes themselves are clean and comfortable, with many of the creature comforts you would have at home.  The kitchen has most everything you might need to prepare simple meals.  The view from the place is stunning and overlooks Nas Beach and the few businesses at the bottom of the hill.  These include about four restaurants, a mini-market, and a pottery shop.  Armenistis and Christos Raches are short drives away for even more restaurants, night-life, and shopping.

One other poster mentioned that a 4 x 4 is ideal for getting here.  A 4 x 4 might be a little more comfortable, but we had a Daewoo sub-compact that we picked up in Evdhilos near the dock, and it worked fine.  You just need to go a bit slowly.  I would highly recommend arriving at the property in daylight because the roads are a bit confusing in the dark (just be sure to follow Popi’s directions).

Thoroughly Enjoyable

We had a great time in one of the maisonette in Nas.The house was comfortable with a unique sea view and the  hospitality will be unforgetable. Nice, friendly people we felt like being home.
The time we spent in our big terrace under the stars staring at the endless horrizon was really amazing!!!!The silence close to the nature makes you feel completely calm and relax.
It is the best choise if you want to escape from things that makes you sick and tired.

If you're looking to get away from it all and have pure peace and quiet, this is the place for you!  We stayed two nights June 26 and June 27.  The pros of this property are that it is absolutely gorgeous, it is spacious (huge by European standards), and the views from the property are spectacular!  Cons: Albeit this property is beautiful, it is located a bit far from anything in walking distance.  A car is recommended.  The roads to the property are dirt and gravel unpaved roads, but that didn't bother us.  However, driving at night is extremely tricky because there are not street lights and there are steep cliffs.  During the evening/night we walked to the nearby restaurants, which took us approximately 20 minutes from the property.  Popi, the property manager, speaks English very well and is very helpful.

Beautiful Accommodations in Very Quiet Area

The maisonette we stayed was spatious enough, with two balconies overseeing the NAS beach and 180degrees view of the sea. The owner, Popi is very friendly and tries to solve any potential problem that may appear. Cleanliness is not the strong point of the maisonettes, although they were being cleaned almost every day, cleaning was extremely basic without paying attention to details. Bed sheets and towels were being changed every  2-3 days, however during our last 5 days they were not changed at all. The building itself needs some maintenance, being somehow old. we stayed there for 15 days. The location is nice, be careful that you need a car to go anywhere. Even the small NAS beach is about 1km away, walking on a filthy road full of dust, something not very nice. All in all, our experience was positive, however next time we go to Ikaria we would prefer to stay near Armenistis, so that you do not need to drive in order to do anything.

Nice spatious maisonettes with a breathtaking view

I have to be completely honest with my reviews and I will with this one. Popi is a lovely friendly lady and owner of the maisonettes with her husband Mike. It didn't matter what my wife asked for, Popi  had no problem in providing. We stayed for 2 weeks. The maisonette was fine and the view especially from the bedroom balcony breathtaking. An unobstructed 180 degree view of the sea and the magical sunsets. Someone had mentioned about the cleanliness of the maisonette not being to their standard when they arrived....well I must agree with them. My wife cleaned the window glass upstairs/downstairs and I cleaned the TV and computer screens. The bathroom (downstairs) tiles were not cleaned during our stay. The towels and  bed sheets were changed every third day and had a lovely fresh clean aroma to them. The road leading there is a rough dirt road and a 4x4 is the ideal vehicle to have. From the maisonette you can see the beach down and to the left, be warned that nude bathers frequent this beach as well as families and it gets deep very quickly. For the non swimmer it's best to head just past Armenistis (20 mins drive) to a lovely long beach which was frequented by families, the retired and in the windy parts the surfboard fraternity. This beach was very user friendly and had a drinks/snack bar. Be wary of the main road from Nas to Armenistis as it reverts back to dirt for a few meters. The taverna's we frequented in Nas were very good with lovely tasty food and not expensive. The maisonette was lovely and quiet and ideal for those who just want to relax. TV channels were not great and do need sorting out. Mike had a go one evening, left and said he'd return the next day..but didn't. Usual thing with the Greek Islands if you want to sit outside when the sun goes down make sure you have your mosquito repellent and make sure the windows and doors are closed. All in all it was an enjoyable/relaxing stay on an island that has to my knowledge not been hit by thousands of tourists.
