Stone Village 

We were a little nervous about coming here as it has very mixed reviews. We needn't have been, it was lovely. We were first struck by the beauty of the place. Gorgeous rustic stone buildings and walkways, with beautifully planted flowers and trees, it reminded us of the 'first dates' hotel in Italy. Our room (18) was a 2 storey apartment. Ground floor sofa, table and kitchenette, with stairs to a large bedroom, bathroom and tiny balcony with fantastic mountain views. There are 2 nice sized pools with a few sunloungers and also a kids pool. The hotel is set on a farm, and it's a nice peaceful walk around looking at the rabbits, tortoises and ponies. The food is pretty good for a half board buffet. Breakfast is plentiful with everything you'd want including cereals, fruit, bacon, several different egg dishes, ham, cheese, breads and pastries. The coffee wasn't so good as it was from an urn, not fresh, nor is the fruit juice. Dinner is fish, meat dishes, vegetables, pasta, rice, chips, salads and a few cakes and ice cream. All pretty tasty. Drinks are charged extra, and bring cash to the restaurant as it needs to be paid for as you go, not put on your room bill. My only criticism would be that dinner is 7pm to 9pm. If you get there (as we did on the first night) about 8pm there's not much left and what is there is going a bit cold and dry. Maybe it was the fact that there weren't many guests that the food was not replenished, and I understand if they don't want to waste food. So my advice would be to get there when it opens. The other thing which put us off a little was they insist you wear a mask and plastic gloves in the restaurant. I understand the concerns over Covid, and they are just being very cautious, but for me this was a bit over the top. Staff is very friendly. There's nothing else in the immediate vicinity, but it's only a 15 minute walk into town and another 5 minutes to the lovely beaches and restaurants. All in. all great value for money and a lovely place to spend a few days.
