What a great week we have had here at Emerald studios 
There was a problem with our room on arrival we spoke to the tui rep who didn't want to know 
The manager Billy was amazing she found us another room straight away 
Tui was just a let down wasn't interested at all 
We will definitely visit here again as the staff are all amazing clean rooms beautiful views far exceeded our expectations for what we paid
Highly recommended a real special place 👌

I do not write lots of reviews but feel after reading a review from someone from Llanelli I need to.

The Emerald does what it does really well, the welcome was excellent, as a solo traveller you are sometimes made to feel like a second thought. Not here , absolutely first class, so warm and welcoming. 

The cleaning staff were first class , and  I must say how I like the music by the pool( Lorien, lol)

The views are amazing , the killer is the hill. Can’t get away from that but for pities sake do some research. 

The staff cannot be held responsible for customers who are ignorant about the Greek way of life and have champagne taste but lemonade budgets!!!!

I would come back in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend to anyone that I know who would appreciate a friendly, comfortable stay with amazing views.

Filthy
Run down left to rack and ruin.
Rude staff
TUI clearly have never done spot checks on the accommodation because they would see the filthy filthy pool.
I would not recommend anyone using the pool under any stretch of the imagination
Just avoid it☹️!!!

The views are amazing the people are amazing we can’t wait to come back again everyone we spoke to has returned to Thassos and this hotel
Over and over again the hill is steep but that is why the view is the breath taking you could ever have I would recommend renting a car from Potos in golden beach and then you can drive the hill and park at the hotel just a beautiful place

Hotel emerald

I’m going to get the bad news out of the way first…. The views are amazing. Because this hotel is up a very steep hill. It’s not for the faint-hearted but to be fair it does get easier as time goes by. So you’ll probably want to seriously consider vehicle hire of some sort if you’re staying here

But that’s it. That’s all the bad news and to be honest it’s not really that bad anyway

Emerald is under new ownership as of 2024. A sprawling complex of 3 different hotels - Emerald Studios, Emerald Suites and Emerald 2, comprising about 160 rooms in all. So you’d think it would be pretty impersonal and noisy. But it’s not. Villy the new owner with her brother, is one of the friendliest hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and she is so friendly. That in itself would make the stay worthwhile. The true embodiment of that world famous Greek xenophilia 

But then there’s the accommodation and facilities. So like all of my Greek travels, this is a self-catering hotel. The rooms are a decent size and clean and basic. Cooking facilities are very basic but you have just about all you need. (But if you’re like me, the self-catering part of booking a holiday isn’t actually a desire to cook my own food while I’m away!) 
The bathroom is compact and shower pressure is very good, meaning that it does get pretty wet. And then it dries up so that’s no issue 

There’s a nice little pool with a bar where you can get a drink and ligh snack

And then, saving best til last, the view. Absolutely stunning is how I’d describe it. All rooms face the sea and from the height, you get to see most of Golden Beach. It makes the mountaineering 100% worth it

We’ll be coming back here fairly regularly I expect

The View 😍

Me and my boyfriend went for a week here, the owner was lovely and chatty. We originally had an issue with the shower and sink but they came and fixed it the same day we reported it. 
An amazing beach view with a great view of the mountain as well. 
The bar and pool area was lovely and the staff were all kind and accommodating. 
Not far from the beach but is a steep walk back so probably not ideal for smaller children. 
Overall great value for money, will definitely be back. 

Good value for money

Room very tired, bathroom very poor. Facilities very basic. Sheets were made of sandpaper. Cleaning quite cursory! Pool looked rather unsavoury so avoided it, visited bar once didn’t bother thereafter. In short it was somewhere to lay the head. Whole place needs some money spent. The hill is a challenge and not all the rooms views justify the effort, some probably do but not all. The resort however is lovely but stay elsewhere is my tip!

Too basic!

The room that we stayed in wasn’t sunny and it was damp and smelled funny. The beds were not comfortable and it wasn’t clean. The room had not glasses and the glasses that we took from the bar, had coffee residues on them. 
The only coffee that the bar served was frappe and the price of it was hilariously high (3€). The housekeeper came the next day in order to change the garbage bin and she changed only the one at the bathroom. 
Moreover, the room wasn’t soundproof at all you could hear everything from outside due to the hole that was near the door ( which was also the balcony 🤦🏻‍♀️) which supposed to have a window but had only a window net just to prevent bugs from getting in …
In conclusion it was definitely not worth the 178€ that we payed for our 3 nights stay.

Too expensive for what it is

We were actually over the road from the hotel at the studios but it is all run by the same people. The rooms were very nice and because of the killer hill you get wonderful views of the harbour and resort below. We drank at the bar a couple of nights and in a first for us met some lovely people who were good company. The wi fi is excellent here and the signal was good right over to our room which was a bonus. The resort is a little bit spread out and some places were not open yet. There are a few places this end to eat but it is a good 20-30 minute walk to the end of the resort for more places. The beach is excellent with free sunbeds if you have a drink or eat at the restaurant attached. Would come again and may have even forgotten about that hill by the time we went to book it.

Very nice friendly but that hill is a killer be prepared.

We have stayed here in Emerald for good 12 years since 2009 and never been disappointed.  Brath taking view and world class host. We highly recommending to try if you are here in Thassos. You are not going to be disappointed:-)
