We stayed at this hotel from 28th June for 11 nights. The owner and family were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean, with a compact bathroom with a proper walk-in shower. There was always plenty of hot water. Our breakfast was included, and there was a fair amount of choice. It is a short walk from the restaurants,  shops in the village, also the beach and castle.

First visit to Peloponnese 

Great, modern hotel   Close walking distance to everything. Staff was very polite and attentive…couldn’t ask for more.  Rooms were well appointed and very clean.  Great reception/lounge area. Breakfast was superb with many choices and made fresh to your liking

Nice, relaxing modern hotel

At short notice we needed to find somewhere for just one night in and around Methoni, and the Achilles Hotel fitted the bill perfectly. It’s a modern building just a short walk from the village centre, and looks to be family run. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was basic, clean, and just what we wanted. Good breakfast – what more do you need for a short stay in Methoni??

Friendly family run hotel

Sophisticated ambiance  in rural Methoni and an exceptional hotel staff aimed to please. It’s our second time here and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Methoni Castle , the beach and town square is very close walking distance. Just a ten min drive  away is Pykos - another charming town with a vibrant town square surrounded by boutique stores, restaurants  and views of the ocean coastline. An hour further is the excavation of Ancient Messini  and it’s museum. Certainly worth the drive to explore this amazing historical site.

Incredible Methoni you won’t want to miss!

Booked the hotel for two nights as part of our road trip around the Peloponnese and was just what we wanted. It is situated in the perfect position, a short five minutes to the stunning Methoni Castle and the village centre for evening meals. Staff very friendly and attentive. Room had all you needed including tea and coffee. Bit cramped but the huge balcony more than compensated. Obviously covid meant breakfast was presented to you but the array of offerings was huge. Eggs how you liked them, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, jams, cakes, pies, muesli and a variety of coffees.  Regards evening meals, tried the top two on TA and preferred Palia Astoria of the two.

Perfect in every way

Located on the main road entering Methoni, across the central square.

Rooms were large and clean, staff was polite and professional. Breakfast was of very good quality, albeit coffee choice was limited to Greek or filter, with any other option being optional and payable. Reserved parking is also limited to 3-4 spots, with the rest of guests having to park in the surrounding public street spots (there are spaces usually though).

Overall a very good choice, albeit one should notice that being located opposite the main square, it can get really noisy (even with windows closed). 

On our first night we had a group of youngsters who were screaming their heads off until the early morning... 

Also another issue is that during breakfast there are swarm of wasps hovering around the tables, attracted by the food on the tables (however I understand that this is not an issue of this particular establishment but of the general area).

Good hotel

We'd originally booked into their sister hotel, the Achilles Hill, but decided on arrival that we wanted to be right in the centre of town. Both hotels are owned by the same family so we were able to move here after the first night.

This is probably the best hotel in Methoni. It's in a great location, 5 minutes or so walk from the beach and most of the eating places in town. Although it's on the main road in/out of town it wasn't too noisy. Our room was really spacious and comfortable, with 2 balconies no less. The owners/staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was very good and plentiful. Highly recommended.

Excellent choice

The service was bad: any request we had, we were always being ignored. The room had a bad smell, and was very noisy, despite being listed as soundproof (!). Definitely overpriced. Would not stay again.

No good service

Stayed here for 11 nights , lovely family run hotel, George was an excellent host , doing breakfast single handed mainly out front , great selection of food , no buffet due to Covid restrictions but it was all served to you at your table .
Rooms were lovely , we upgraded and what a good choice it was as rooms were at the back with a sea view and extremely quiet .Bed was so big and comfy , changed every 2 days , rooms were kept spotlessly clean everyday . 
A great hotel to stay and visit Methoni and all the local beaches and restaurants... don’t just go to the square for food there are plenty of local restaurants just opposite hotel on the side streets . 

Lovely Hotel 

We spent an amazing 2 nights at the Achilles Hotel in Methoni. Let me start out by saying that apart from everyone being super friendly, the hotel room was immaculate! The room was totally spotless with really nice details added to it like hidden light systems giving a really nice ambience.  The mattress was superb and the room had 2 very nice balconies.  Generally the entire hotel was extremely clean and everything looked brand new. The owners really paid attention to detail when it came to design, aesthetics and versatility in order to make the stay as comfortable as possible.  In addition, the hotel is literally a 3 minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach with a view of the castle and to the restaurants (our favorite was Modon Restaurant which we ate there 2 days in a row) and to cafes.  Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Achilles Hotel and we highly recommend it!
