I'm 67 and my good friend is 76. We two ladies of a certain age came to the Manos Appartments as we were looking for somewhere in Elounda, and this appeared to have just what we needed. 
Close to the town, clean appartments and offering a pool, poolside bar and food.
We arrived pretty late, closer to midnight than 11pm and were greeted by the fabulous Evgenia, a lovely, vivacious lady who works the bar from early evening to close.
On entering the appartment it was lovely and cool and clean. We entered into the kitchen diner. There was a fridge which had a small freezer box, two cooking rings, kettle and the usual cuttlery and crockery. We each had a twin bedroom with a private balcony each one complete with small table and chair. There was also a small terrace at the top of the external steps by the front door with a table and chairs. The bathroom was again spotless and, whilst somewhat small, the shower was perfect with plenty of lovely hot water. A large wardrobe / cupboard between the bedrooms provided more than enough hanging (plenty of hangers) and drawer space. It housed spare pillows, blankets, hairdryer and a small lockable safe.
In the morning, following a cuppa on the terrace we went down and ordered breakfast from the bar. They provide a simple but very good menu from 9am to 5pm daily. There are numerous areas to sit to enjoy your meal or drink. The pool is sun heated so it was somewhat bracing. I loved it though and thoroughly enjoyed bobbing about sitting on a spongy noodle in my sunglasses and sunhat. 
The appartments are an easy stroll away from the town, where you can find plenty of fabulous places to eat and drink. There are some excellent small supermarkets for purchasing anything you need for self-catering.

BEST THINGS
1. Evgenia, who runs the late afternoon to close bar. She is brilliant, warm and friendly,  speaks perfect English but enjoys encouraging you to get a grasp of basic Greek words, she enjoys a good joke and having a laugh and will happily give tips and recommendations  for your visit.
2. The cleaners who keep the appartments etc spick and span and regularly change your towels and sheets.
3. The bar staff who cook breakfasts and provide food and drinks throughout the day.

NOT SUCH GOOD THINGS
1. BREAKFAST - I have Coeliac Disease and one morning I decided to have the full English (I know, don't hate me), I provided my own bread and couldn't have the sausages. I was disappointed that I was still charged the full price. Most places, I'd have been offered extra bacon etc, or had a small reduction. I was a little saddened at this.

OVERALL - would I recommend staying here ... ABSOLUTELY YES


A Fab Place To Stay

Just returned from a lovely stay at Manos Apartments. We arrived 2.30 am and our room number was displayed on a board. The room was typically Greek basic, but sufficient and clean. The grounds and pool area are spotless. We ate breakfast a few times at the pool bar and it was excellent. The food and service are really good. The pool was chilly but a nice atmosphere around the pool, and the pool bar. My only 'gripe' is that we weren't aware who to speak to at the apartments.  However, an enquiry at the pool bar led to us being introduced to the manager who was able to accommodate us keeping our room on for a few extra hours before our late evening pick up for the airport. Manos is ideally situated with a lovely beach side walk to bars and restaurants.  I'd recommend and would definitely stay at Manos again. 

Ideally situated, clean and friendly

Just love these apartments (so do so many other repeat guests). 
Perfect location, well kept, clean, friendly atmosphere. 
When we arrived (late evening) the lady who ran the bar was so helpful and friendly and the whole holiday she was so accommodating to everyone but respectful to all guests.
My Mum is in disabled but we find staying here is amazing, we just love being here.

Great location 

Thank again for another wonderful holiday in the beautiful town of Elounda. Thank you Lorraine and your team for making our stay really enjoyable. It was our second visit to here and the first abroad holiday for our toddler. You all made it a very special time for him and created amazing memories for us as a family. A special thanks Evgenia for taking care of us.

Another amazing stay at Manos apartments

Best holiday ever lovely people lovely  location  beautiful  food reasonable  prices well looked after very clean Lorraine  looked after us very bar staff were brilliant cocktails were fantastic would definitely come back again   quite a long transfer

We had a two week stay in Manos Apartments. We had been there three years ago with our family but this time it was just the two of us.  It is in a superb location, opposite the beach and a short walk to the town.  Our studio was clean and in a quiet part of the complex.  It was sparsely equipped but as we were eating out every evening it was adequate to our needs. The only grumble from us was that the balcony was very small.
The best thing about Manos is the staff.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful.  With only four of them there, Evgenia and George on the bar and Larraine and Aspasia cleaning,  they all  had to work really hardhat they always had time to talk to you and help out.  Thank you all so much.

Friendly convenient place

Just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay in Elounda at the Manos Apartments.

Travel - it's an hour in a taxi or 2-2.5 hours on a coach.  I'd say definitely worth booking the taxi.

Manos Pool Bar - separately owned but very welcoming on arrival they work well with the housekeeping team.
Evgenia the lady who works there in the day is amazing, she's so welcoming and tries so hard to please.  She's incredibly hard working.
George is the evening bar tender and what a character he is.  He's got a great way of reading people and knows who to mingle with and who to leave to their own devices.. loved his humour.

Apartments - basic and smaller than expected.  We booked a 1 bedroom rather than a studio as I wanted somewhere to sit in the evening if it was chilly, but there wasn't anywhere it was literally just a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen so really a studio with a wall.
The kitchen has a fridge and one hob and there is literally just enough cutlery and mugs to use for a couple but it wasn't really somewhere we could cook.
Air conditioning is €60 per week, we didnt use it as we could leave the doors open at night.
The safe surprisingly is another €10 per week which I thought was a bit of a rip off as normally that comes with the room price.

Housekeeping - Lorraine is quite abrasive when you first meet her but shes good at what she does, the rooms were spotless the whole time.
They clean, change the bedding and towels every other day which was very good.

Maintenance - the caveat - appalling.  They are lucky to get 5 stars on this one.
The toilet seat was loose and ended up breaking.  We reported it to housekeeping at 11am and were told it will be fixed tonight. 
We went out for the day arriving back at 6pm to find the entire bunch of handymans keys in our door but no sign of the handyman.  I wasnt impressed with that as anyone could have used those keys to steal our belongings and everyone elses!!
We went in to get changed for dinner and the toilet seat had been removed so we figured he had gone to get one.
We waited for an hour and a half and he still hadn't returned so reluctantly went out to eat.
We returned back at 10pm to find the keys had gone but no toilet seat fitted which I was very upset about.
I called the out of hours TUI line and was asked to report it to reception (there isnt one) then she said she would get the number for the hotel and call them to sort it.  5 minutes later she was back saying that unusually there isnt a number on their system so there is nothing they can do and could I get the number for them to add to the system.
The next morning we went back to housekeeping and around 11am the maintenance man came with a seat.
Unfortunately the seat he brought didnt fit so wasnt fastened to the toilet base.
Back to housekeeping again to ask for a spanner to do it myself!
Whoever comes into the apartment after us I think will struggle because its just not good at all.

As long as you don't need maintenance you will have a great time here.

5 star with a caveat 

I’m writing this on our last day, we have had a great time.
It’s so laid back. No fighting for sunbeds here. 
Manos is very clean and well kept.

 Staff are great. Manager is a lovely lady and very helpful and George definitely lives up to his reputation 😂. 

Rooms are spotless, towels and bedding are clean and white. 

You don’t need many cocktails at the bar to get u on the happy side 😂 

Sunbeds round the pool are super comfy. 

If you arrive early hours of the morning there is a notice board with ur room number and key is in the door for you.
 
I advice getting a private transfer to and from airport as coach transfer is 2 to 2 half hours long after you have dropped others off at their hotels. 

Loads of restaurants  to choose from in elounda which is a 5/10 min walk along beach. 

Definitely will return here.  Not as commercialised as nearby stalis and malia. 

Absolutely give this gem a try it’s worth it I promise.

Awesome hidden gem

Family holiday with girl , boy 18/16 year olds ,we chose Manos after reading the reviews and wanting somewhere close to the beach and Elounda, we arrived late and George the evening barman/entertainment/ host greeted us with such warmth , sorted rooms and some delicious take out food from  Fresco . We had a 2 bedroom apartment sorted by Larraine who’s amazingly  helpful and friendly including trips and transfers ,it was clean , cool and was regularly cleaned with fresh towels and bedding , pool area is great but can get busy with comfy sun beds it is cleaned regularly  and is 1.5 m deep , seating and food at the bar the 3 ladies who work so hard cooking and serving drinks behind the bar are amazing friendly, warm and helpful, food is great tasty and a good price . The bar in the evenings is a very friendly place George tries to make everyone welcome and at home , some may be put off by the loud music at times perhaps ask for a quieter room further back away from the bar .The position of the  apartments is perfect a short stroll into Elounda or the beach . Would I stay again ? YES !

Relaxing family break

An amazing place to stay in Elounda. The music is great at the bar but as we were room 14, we couldn't hear it from our room. The location is great, the beach is just across the road and the town centre is around a 5 minute walk. The pool can get a bit busy midday but it gets quieter later on. The staff are amazing especially George who gives a good vibe in the evening. The rooms are immaculate and the AC in the rooms is great to cool down.
