What a hidden gem …. ! 
These studios are well maintained and are run by Dimitri and Rula, who are extremely welcoming, pleasant and hard working , which is probably why so many people return year after year! 
The Taverna to the rear of the property is a little oasis and offers a lovely setting for a cool afternoon or  pre dinner drink !
It’s my pleasure to recommend this property to those who seek a more traditional relaxed atmosphere when vacationing on Skiathos !

Hidden Gem

Comfortable, clean, bright rooms. Great bar and fantastic company from other guests and Rula and Dimitri. 
5 minutes walk from Koukanaries beach and water taxi and surrounded by fantastic restaurants. The bus to Skiathos Town is 1 minute walk away and there are about  8 more amazing beaches found by walking though the pine forests. 
We always said we wouldn’t go back to one place time and time again but this beautiful friendly island and Maistrali Studios keep drawing us back each year!

Wouldn’t stay anywhere else

Fourth time at Maistrali and despite some changes due to Covid, we had a wonderful time. Good hygiene measures were in place and although breakfast was not available, the handy kitchenette in our room and local supermarket meant we could have a relaxing breakfast on our balcony each morning. Evenings were fun, with great music playing in the bar area. Rooms very clean as ever and it was lovely to see Rula and Dimitri again and sample Dimitris excellent cocktails. 
Maistrali is so convenient for gorgeous sandy beaches, the nearest being less than 10 minutes walk away and others through the beautiful surrounding pine forests. The local bus to Skiathos town is just over the road and ran around every 30 minutes This year ( usually more frequent than this) 
Would definitely recommend a visit to Maistrali Studios.

Another happy week

Just had a week in Skiathos staying at the Maistrali Studios, Koukounaries. The two guys who own and run the, venue Damitri and Rulla are second to none as hosts. they are just perfect and make your stay perfect. The rooms are very clean and cleaned daily. All you need is included in the room. The Location couldnt be better, being close to 4 lovley beaches and numerous lovley restraraunts, and a well stocked supermarket just up the road.
We had a Side room ,whilst has everything you need and is perfect and didnt affect our stay in the slightest, is just a little small.

September 2019 in Koukounaries

we stayed just for one night, but the studios are very nice. it has everything one needs, nice view and very good location, nearby to beach and shops, and restaurants, the host is very kind and nice. The breakfast is very good, it is a quiet place, but nearby to all you need.

perfect location

First time on Skiathos and directed to Maistrali on solid recommendations. Something of a club come extended family atmosphere due to preponderance of repeat visitors adeptly cultivated by astute, friendly, and attentive hosts with lots of character.  Towards the cheap and cheerful end of the market, and all the better for it.  Fairly basic but clean rooms, well serviced, and with all the essentials including fridge, hob, a/c, balcony, clothes rack, and OK shower.  Best accommodation (for view)  on the upper two floors.  Good outside garden bar with pizza, snack, breakfast and flexible group catering offer as just part of the personal touch.  No pool but we found it easy enough to negotiate use of neighbouring hotel pools via judicious bar custom and tip.

Handy to have the excellent island bus service (one main road only!) right outside.  None of the nearby restaurants are traditional tavernas, but we rated the 'Under the pine trees' for bbq, the Strofilia for some very good dishes including their own deserts, and the Alamar as probably all round best in show.  Conversely, at the Golden Beach, I was served the worst Lamb Kleftiko I have ever come across in Greece.   Some great unspoilt  beaches (but maybe not so much in peak season?) to the west, north. and north east, with very pleasant forest and cliff top walks to and from.   Maistrali is a great base camp, excellent value, good hosts, and will definitely be returning.    


Excellent Value and Personal Touch

Just returned from another fantastic holiday at Maistrali Studios. 
I really cannot thank Roula and Demetris enough for all their hard work to make our stay with them amazing. They smile from morning til nighttime and nothing is too much trouble for them. 
The bar area is fabulous, friendly and relaxed and Demetris cocktails are legendary 🤣
The rooms are spotlessly clean ( Thankyou Marinela x) with clean towels daily. 
The buses stop just outside the studios so easy access to the beaches and town.
I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Can only comment on the friendliness of the owner welcoming you in for a drink and a lovely setting ,a great cold drink and friendly residents,cannot really say more as only visited for a drink but this site expects a certain number of letters which I think is wrong

Great place for a beer

A few days ago I returned from a holiday in Skiathos. I was staying in Maistrali Studios, where everything were excellent. From the first to the last day of my stay, Dimitros and Roula tried to make me welcome, it was like at home. Marinela took care for the cleanliness of the studio. The studio is simple and nice. All around of studios is a lot of space, which is also very nice arranged. Breakfast was good, also the choice and prices  in the bar were normal. The beautiful beaches  are close, also a bus for the city. I would like to return.

Wonderful holidays

I visited the hotel last year, during August 2017. The hotel is situated in a good place next to the most famous beach. The room is also clean and has nice view. However, the owners are very rude and not helpful at all. We were a group of 25 year old couples and we were treated like school children. Completely unprofessional. They also complained for asking them to change our towels. Better avoid the hotel, there are much better ones on the island.
