Lovely small hotel. Perfect location - getting to beach etc is a short walk - 5 mins along a rocky path which is unlit of an evening but really not a problem.  

Rooms are great - everything you need. Only thing I would have liked is a Couple of glasses. Room comes with fridge.

Breakfast is good - fruit and yoghurt, bread, ham tomato cheese eggs. Coffee is lovely too!  

We are beach people so didn’t stay round by the pool but often would finish the day there. Very quiet always. It seemed you can always get a sun bed there. Maybe a little music in background would be good during the day and evening otherwise it is incredibly quiet! 

The rooms are cleaned every day to a very high standard. They work very hard and all staff are always polite and friendly. 

As for resort there isn’t a great deal to be honest but what is there is very good. Restaurants are lovely - our favourites were delphini and drakos.  We have visited Greece many times over the years and found IOS very different but not in a bad way!  Not a lot of English which can be a good thing! But the food although was amazing we didn’t get the usual Greek cuisine ie, kleftiko, etc,. We ate lots of fish which was fantastic!

We had a fabulous holiday and are now finally getting the holiday bug back again after Covid!

Lovely chilled holiday

Marcos Beach is located on a strategic hill overlooking the most evocative seafront of jos, a family-run establishment, equipped with all comforts, a stone's throw from the sea and from chora, the beating heart of the island's nightlife. Attentive to guests' needs, cordial and kind, the Marcos family members guarantee a punctual and discreet service! Particular attention to cleaning! Definitely recommended! Happy holiday!

Vacanza super

Lovely hotel, room looked down to beach which is about a 10 min walk away. Room clean and tidy which also had a fridge to keep drinks cold
Staff and guests very friendly a special mention for the owner Jackie who was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again if visiting Ios 

Brill hotel

Although Ios is a party Island in the summer, this hotel is sold as offering  'peaceful and comfortable accommodation' which includes a 'crystal clear fresh water swimming pool'. This has been confirmed in previous TripAdvisor reviews who have also spoken warmly of the helpful owner. Our experience was however somewhat different. We arrived late in the evening after a very tiring journey and were shown straight to our rooms by Jackie who starkly warned us that mosquitoes were very bad and we were given a plug in device and one tablet to see us through the night. We were told that we could buy further supplies of tablets to ward off the mosquitoes from local shops. Needless to say the plug in device did not work. Even though we recognised that we had booked a 2/3 star hotel, our room was still a huge disappointment especially the bathroom which came complete with a cracked sink and plastic shower curtain which had seen better days. The room also included an unwanted third bed which parked against the wall in the middle of the room and was covered with a bottom sheet. This did however prove useful as the mattress on this bed was softer than the rock hard mattresses on the other two single beds and it allowed us to swop one one out affording at least one of us a comfortable nights sleep. The wardrobe which was in effect a cupboard built into the wall contained just six coat hangers between 2 of us and a safe that didn't work. Despite such a disappointing start we woke up in the morning determined to make the best of things. For the first 2 days we enjoyed some peace and quiet around the pool which unfortunately had a bit of a wasp problem and the water could have been clearer, however things changed with the arrival of a British organised female bootcamp which was based at the hotel. Our peace was shattered, not by the girls taking part in the bootcamp who were unfailingly polite and courteous to other guests, but by the organisers who sat around the pool all day and were frankly loud in everything they did. We put up with this for a number of days until the raucous antics of this group became too much for us and we took ourselves off at our own expense to another island until it was time for us to return home. Whilst I appreciate that following Covid  these are difficult  times for hotel owners I do feel that we should have been warned that this bootcamp was taking place. I understand that this is a regular occurrence and there is another bootcamp at this hotel the first two weeks of September so if you want a peaceful holiday you may not wish to stay here during this time. This hotel is in a lovely location and with a bit of refurbishment it could be so much better. We will not be returning. 

Disappointing holiday

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing 4 week stay at The Marcos Beach Hotel . From the moment we step off the ferry and are greeted by Harry who is the son of the family who own and run the hotel . He works tirelessly but always has time to chat and make sure everything is ok . Then greeted by Jackie and Melina from reception and shown to our rooms . Marcos is never far away multi tasking around the hotel and bar . They are supported by the most fantastic and hard working team who go about their work but always with polite greetings . Rooms are a generous size with standard air con , safe box and fridge . Kettles can be provided if required . Also there is an iron and ironing board which can be requested . Breakfast is a very good continental choice even satisfying us Brits needs . Clean and well kept pool which is regularly tested by Harry and machine cleaned by Marcos , saliva and Harry A good supply of sun beds line the pool area . .The Pool bar is a welcome resting place during the day with toastier and sandwiches made to order if you are peckish . It also provides a lovely meeting place in the evenings to meet and chat to friends and other holiday guests . Reception provides much info on places local to eat and where to find them . Local bus times and buses to take you to the beautiful beaches on IOS . For taxis and car rental contacts . Also quad and bike hire contacts . If you want anything then reception can help all you need to do is ask . They say the best holiday is when you arrive as guests and leave as friends . Well this is just that kind of hotel . Fantastic family run and supported by honest and hard working staff . The making of a great holiday . We recommend The Marcos Beach Hotel and have already booked 4 more weeks in 2023 . If you are looking at the reviews and thinking of maybe giving it a try , you won’t be disappointed . Thank you Marcos , Jackie , Harry , Melina and all the team for a wonderful 2022 holiday . Relaxing holiday

This is a small family owned and run hotel. Rooms are minimalistic and very clean. Staff is very helpful and serviceminded. Not Breakfast at Tiffanies, but more than enough 🤩

Fantastic hotel !!

A lovely little hotel with beautiful sea views from the rooms, pool and terrace area.  Rooms provide everything you need. Nice comfy beds and pillows. Tv, fridge, air con and safety box all included. Located only a short walk from the biggest beach and the bus that take you into the village. Run by a very nice and friendly family. Thank You from rooms 101 and 102.

Beautiful hotel

Had the pleasure of being the 3rd and 4th visitors of the 2022 season in May.

Welcomed at the port by Harry, who at that point didn’t tell us he was the owners son and then driven c6/7minutes to the hotel.

Then welcomed by Jackie, (the owner with her husband Marco).

We were in room 29 (might have been 28) which is on higher level and has great views over Milopotas beach.

Typical Greek shower in bathroom. Room was a good size with a covered balcony with table & chairs. For us, a kettle would have been a welcome addition for early morning drinks. The free aircon and safe were an added bonus. 

Pool area spotless and spacious with gazebos sheltering cushioned seats as well as the usual sun beds.

Didn’t have a ‘pool bar person’ when we went as whoever was in reception would come out if there was nobody behind bar, we just had to ask. 

Cleaners were brilliant and bedroom kept spotless. Bedding/towels changed frequently, never needed to ask for this to be done. 

We didn’t eat from bar menu but did drink from bar and a few evenings we sat and chatted with Jackie / Harry ( and his girlfriend ).

Breakfast as indicated elsewhere is self serve buffet. I was asked if I wanted them to get me Gluten-free bread, but chose not to do so as I took my own granola to have with the provided Greek yogurt.

Location is perfect. It’s a small walk via steps and rough path or by road to beach and bus stop for bus to Chora is at end of road. 

A couple of times the bus picked us up on the downward route even though we were going to Chora as the Farout crowd would otherwise fill the bus before it got to us.

We had expected the ‘noise’ from Farout would carry up the hill, but it didn’t. 

In all, a fabulous stay. Clean, friendly, great location, good rooms, hot water whenever you needed it 😅. 

Would we stop again? Definitely.

Lovely hotel and owners

Situated  in a quiet peaceful, part of Ios. Well run family hotel and exceptionally clean. 5 mins walk from the beach couldn't ask for more. Local supermarket also bars and the bus stop into Chora,1.65 euros excellent service.Chora well worth a visit too. Chris on the bar extremely friendly and Billy wealth of knowledge very helpful about local amenities. Highly recommended would definitely come back 5/5 overall. 

Idyllic place

We stopped here July 2022. The rooms were as you would expect from a 2* hotel. The service was not as I would of expected from any hotel in Greece. We were met at the port by the managers son and his partner and they were extremely friendly. The manager was at the desk when we entered and didn’t turn her head to welcome us when booking in, I have been to Greece many, many times and have always been welcomed into all hotels by managers warmly. 
Breakfast was cold continental food only and you were expected to clean your table when finished, it wasn’t worth getting out of bed for to be honest.
Pool bar snacks existed of toasties only - we felt so sorry for Chris the pool bar guy as they were cooked in the hotel so he would be up and down the pool all day serving (really poor) toasties. After day 1 we decided to eat out at lunch times. 
We would return to the hotel bar in the evening where the hotel manager would serve drinks until 12am - I really don’t think it was particularly good service to pour drinks at 11.59pm and charge high prices and then turn off the lights in the bar at 12am. Not the Greece I have come to know and love since 1986.
This hotel has the potential to be really good but needs managers that don’t argue with each other in front of guests and offer a better service to them too.
