Nice location, Easy check in with reception, very polite and helpful, spotlessly clean, food very good, always hot. Ten minute walk into kardemena, lots of shops and bars, Hotel staff friendly, yes the hornets were a nusiance near the soft drinks that was the only complaint, would go back.

Beautiful place.

We spent a week here at the end of September and thoroughly enjoyed.

The hotel facilities are great, the staff are always friendly and attentive and the activities/entertainment are outstanding.

The shops at the hotel stock most things you would need and prices are reasonable. 

The town is a lovely walk and I’d recommend making the trip in if you stay at this hotel.

The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because I didn’t feel like the room cleaning was of the standard I would usually expect from a hotel of this class. It wasn’t enough to put me off returning but as an example, the floor was often still dusty despite being mopped and I think this is because it appeared that the floor was swept and mopped around things like the bed rather than actually fully cleaning underneath. 

That said, the staff worked very hard, and I wonder if it was perhaps the case that they needed more staff in the cleaning team so that they are able to spend more time on each room without having to rush.

Lovely Family Break


On arrival we checked in and was told our room number, this was a last minute booking just me and my mum, i started walking looking for room numbers as i had no instructions where to go, i definitely went the wrong way,in hindsight because i was greeted with a view upto our room of about 70 steps, now my mum being 73 yrs i had a little panic but a nice guest carried my mums case  up for about 50 steps for us and we went to our room. lovely room and had everything we needed. this is a massive complex. The weather was lovely and warm.
The pool areas are nice, theres loads of space and sunbeds, the drinks are great, all self serve around the pool and dinning area, the food was lovely with a choice of lots of different restaurants and snack places and the area around the hotels are lovely, a nice beach is a stone throw away, take your Goggles because the water is amazing and there are lots of fish. i would definitely come back to this hotel if I could get it a the same price but next year's prices are more then double we paid. if you have kids  they would absolutely love it here. A lovely relaxing break, definitely 4 stars. couldn't fault a thing but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone with walking difficulties because there are steps everywhere and lots of them. The town is a short walk away with lots of shops and restaurants. overall an excellent last minute break for us

Lovely last minute break

We had a wonderful time staying at the Mikri Poli. It was our first family holiday abroad with our 15 month old and we’d definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and other families. The transfer to the hotel was only 15 minutes which was also amazing. 

The food was great and plentiful with so much choice. We also booked the restaurants when we arrived and had dinner at all of them. The staff were all lovely and so attentive, in particular the main restaurant manageress. They were all great with our daughter and enjoyed interacting with her. We went early October and we didn’t have to queue at any point. The weather was also so great for this time of year - mid twenties. 

The room was good - we figured the floors would be hard so we packed a rug for our daughter to play on. Our room was right at the top of the hill and it was good to know that we could have had a lift to the top in the golf buggies if we’d have asked at reception. We did have a lift on arrival with our luggage. 

It was really easy to get drinks during the day and there were always plenty of sun beds and places to sit in both the sun and the shade. The water slide area was lots of fun and there were lots of pools to cool down in (quite literally as they weren’t heated). There were activities during the day if you wanted to join in and there were always reps available to talk to if you needed anything. All the Holiday Village reps were very knowledgeable and approachable. The children’s reps always came and spoke to us and our daughter which was lovely. The evening entertainment was great for kids and adults. 

The hotel is very child friendly with activities for all ages. The crèche has stay-and-play sessions and they also had sessions at the baby pool where they’d bring toys for the babies and toddlers to play with. 

The hotel was across the road from a lovely small beach with a clear swimming area. Again, we found sunbeds there easily. We also enjoyed walking to the town 10 minutes away where there were plenty of shops and bars. We booked the local ferry to nearby Nisyros because we were able to go for just the afternoon instead of booking a whole day trip with TUI which would have been too much with our daughter. The trips did sound good though, just not suitable for us at this point. We also hired a car for the day to visit Kos Town and watch the sunset at Zia. 

We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return in the future - out of school holidays in October was a great choice of time of year. 

These are a few suggestions for the hotel to improve further:

-more baby changing facilities - the baby changing downstairs in the reception area was plain dangerous as it is next to showers which spill water all over the floor by the changing mat. I almost fell with my baby. I did tell reception about this. 
-more fresh fruit options during the day
-high chairs to be checked - many had broken straps. 
-small baby portions of food, if requested, at the restaurants as there was a lot of food wastage. 
-the crèche to be clearly labelled as we couldn’t find it easily. 
-clearer signage that toilet roll cannot be flushed and that the tap water is not for drinking 
-the ‘Sports Bar’ had one TV and wasn’t showing any sport as they didn’t have the channels. 
-sharper knives at dinner time

Great family holiday in October

We just came back from 11 days stay at the Holiday Villages Mikri Poli Kos. What an amazing time we had. 
Let me quickly cover the negatives: the food in the main restaurant (lunch and dinners) was a bit plain and repetitive and the sewage smell in some parts of the complex can put you off, but...
In regards to the food - there are also 4 other restaurants you can book (Italian, Greek, American and Asian). It is good to take advantage and book them for dinners just to break out of the monotony of the main restaurant. 
There was so much to do!! It was our first experience with Holiday Villages and it did not disappoint. There were a lot of activities at any time of the day for kids and adults: daily pub quiz, aqua fit, pool party, archery, paddle boarding and so much more... They have kid clubs for any age (creche, 3-8y old, 8-13y old and 13+).
If you are not a fan of activities and the noise by the main pool, you could also use the other pools which are very quiet and nice for relaxing and reading a book.
We stayed in a family room with sliding doors and there was enough space for us and our 4y old.
We also tried the spa and couple massage and it was very very good - highly recommended. 
Finally, we fell in love with this place because of the people who run it. I have never stayed in a place with such a lovely staff. The waitresses in the main restaurant were very helpful and approachable  (a special shout out to Eleni). The entertainment team was amazing, running daily activities and evening shows. My son loved the Widget Show and PTY, he was taking part in daily competitions and managed to win a few prizes. The kids' club team was going above and beyond to make kids happy. We stayed at the end of the season and the second half was very quiet. In some of the daily clubs my son would have the crew for himself and he absolutely loved it. I can't praise them enough. They made our stay one we will remember forever!

So much to do...!!

Stayed here in October 22 as a family of four (kids 10 & 7) and had a wonderful time.
From the off things are brilliant as it was literally 10 minutes on the coach from the airport to the hotel, check in was smooth and we were in our room, unpacked and then at the restaurant for lunch all within an hour of landing in Kos.

This was the end of season, some of the animation team were getting ready to leave around the same time as us, but that didn't dampen their enthusiasm at all, or indeed any of the staff. From reception, to the bars, restaurants and the housekeeping all the staff were friendly and clearly working hard to ensure the place is run well. It shows too with the hotel, rooms and grounds immaculate.

We personally enjoyed the food on offer, plenty of Greek dishes each night and a good range of foods on the buffet to enjoy.
One point the catering is geared to the European palate, the majority of guests seemed to be Dutch and German and I overheard a couple of English guests commenting that the food wasn't to their taste. I include this as an observation not a complaint, as I said for us the food was absolutely fine.

More than fine was the snack bars by the pool, fresh made pizza was delicious and the sandwiches, cakes and ice creams all went down well. Children being able to go get what they want from these and the pool bar meant they were happy all day.

The pool is great, and the views incredible. The pool was absolutely freezing, but it was October so not unexpected. Much better to swim in the sea, the beach literally over the road and was really nice, shallow and safe for the kids and much warmer than the pool.

Aqua park is fun, not the biggest but good for a visit for an hour with the kids.

Evening entertainment was fun, daft but fun. 

The bars are great, well stocked and a range of cocktails as well as beer/wine etc. It was nice to see proper Scotch being poured as the whisky option as in some places you get a local version. The self serve beer/wine in the restaurant was OK, what you expect from an all inclusive.

Location is really good, as I mentioned the airport is close by, you can watch the planes coming in to land but we never heard any noise or were bothered by them. A 5 minute stroll along the beach into Kardamena to browse the shops and have a drink by the harbour is perfect for a break from all the relaxing by the pool.

The boat trips to the volcano is reccomended, but you have to be quick to get down the caldera and back in the time given. 

We hired a car for a day which was delivered to the hotel for us, we did the whole island with this rather than book the Zia sunset trip as it worked out the same cost. Glad we did as this was the only overcast day we had, no sunset from Zia. 

Lots of temples and ruins explored while out and about so certainly recommend getting around the island.

All in all, brilliant I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. 



Excellent family holiday 

Long overdue review but had to do it. We returned to this hotel for the 11th time in September 22. We love it! The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially Stavros, the bar manager, who has become a dear friend over the years! The hotel is clean and modern with great food and amenities. It’s close to Kardamaina (15/20 min walk along the coast road) where there are lots of bars and restaurants if you want a change of scenery.

Great hotel!

This place is a mix of a 3* and 4*. The daytime eateries; Pizza/Pasta, Coffee & Cake are nice. The food is fresh, tasty and the staff were very friendly. 
The food for breakfast and dinner is high in quantity but low in quality. 
The pool and sun lounger section was nice, very scenic. 
The water park is good, albeit dated and separate from the other pools. There are loungers and toilets but no bar. So if you want a drink you’re having to walk downhill, all the way back to the pool bar (8-10 min round trip). 
The beach was lovely but again no bar so had to walk across the road back into the hotel grounds to get a drink. 
The rooms are where this place falls down. We paid for a family inland view room. It was basic. One pillow each, very uncomfortable beds. Thin walls, I could hear our neighbours quite clearly. The plumbing system is loud. Housekeeping was not good. Everyday a cleaner would go in and make our bed and throw a mop over our floor. No clean bedding, no clean towels. 
The staff were quite standoffish, not rude but not friendly except for two; a Lifeguard & the woman who served us at the Pizza/Pasta eatery. 
We had our 5 year old son with us who found the water too cold for too long of time. I recognise this is probably due to the time of year we went but think it’s useful to know. We enquired about the Tui kids club to be told it’s a German speaking club. I understand not all hotels are geared to be English speaking but Tui did not disclose this when advertising the Tui kids club on their website. 
Kos itself, or more specifically Kardamena is beautiful. Very scenic, the town is small but busy and full friendly people.
Overall we had a nice holiday but little changes would be make this hotel a lot better.

October Family Holiday

I had a great massage! Georgia is the best, strong and warm hands. She listend very good and treated my neck problem. Her warm personality is a great good.
Maria is a great support, she asked me what I wanted. A big 10+ for the whole team, Georgia, Babis and Maria

Writing a honest review while waiting for the coach. This is no where near a 5* hotel.
Bad pints... We had 3 bed room with the most amazing view, good size room good super or king size bed not sure. We did however have to ask for a mattress topper because the beds are so so hard.

The shower/bathroom/toilet was the best I had to made a make shift shower screen from a bed sheet to be to stop my son from having to hide out on the balcony while me or my partner showered. Why isn't there a door??? Also it's not the cleanest of bathrooms. Other then that it's was OK. 

Food! Food is poor same thing every breakfast time. I lived on bacon scrambled egg and beans. Which was all cold. Fussy 14 year old lived on pancakes and chocolate sauce. Food is bland and doesn't taste of much. Dinner and tea Mostly same 7 days we was here. 

Staff behind the pool bar and inside bar just talked amongst them self's and wasn't the best maybe they need more training been so young. 

It's not everything included have to pay 50 euros for bottles of water and pay for strongbow, Stella, kopperburg etc. 

I do love Kardamena but won't stay here again we was all inclusive and spent more time down town. 

Pool is lovely and the slides were brilliant. 10 - 15 minute walk into Kardamena town which we love down there.
