Excellent place to stay

We were very happy with our stay at this property. The standard of the room was as high as somewhere charging more than double what we paid (€40). It is located in the middle of the village of Kastraki and a very pleasant taverna is located almost opposite. Parking convenient. Breakfast not provided but plenty of options nearby.  We were welcomed by an elderly gentleman who was very friendly. A younger man appeared to be in charge, and it must be said that his approach was more of the Basil Fawlty style, but this did not impinge on our stay. 


Very good value and good location 

The room was very clean and tidy; it had all you could need including a communal fridge and freezer as well as towels, hair dryer and a comfortable bed. The location was a half an hour walk from Kalambaka Station which is doable and the walk to the monasteries was also doable (but all up hill so is only for those who don't mind trecking). Overall, a very good stay and a perfect location with lots of restaurants and shops.

Perfect for a short stay

Judging by the signs along the road, the guesthouse consists of two filiations. In general, there can not be special claims to it. Although the rooms are somewhat small, however,  minimally they have everything. The equipment works properly. However, we have got a  drain in the toilet, but the owner came  and fixed everything in 20 minutes, not replacing anything. There is a yard where you can hang washed things.
The location of the guesthouse is very good - about 200 meters to the place that is considered the center of the Kastraki village  - with a not big square, a small, though expensive supermarket (in the village there is another one - at the entrance, but we were not in it), church and school. It is from there that the road to the monasteries begins. However, the rocks themselves can be seen from everywhere.
Everything is spoiled by the owner himself, who is distinguished by a rare unfriendliness. Difficult to call it hostility, but in its relation to guests some causeless hostility and even badly hidden contempt is felt. The monasteries are visited by many tourists, and he doesn't seem to have problems  with filling of the guesthouse. Apparently, this is why he has so specific attitude to those who stay in his guesthouse.

Everything is spoiled by the owner himself

This hotel is in excellent location with great view on Meteora. It is out of the town Kalambaka in the village of Kastraki, with easy parking.  The room was very warm and clean, but the bed wasn't so comfortable and they don't provide shampoo and shower gel.

Nice and clean

The host is extremely unpleasant and disagreeable person. We never meet such before. I traveled with my family (including little 1-year-old baby girl) in Greece for 8 days and booked 4 different apartments in several villages. In 3 places the hosts were very pleasant and kind people. When we called them and told, that we need a baby bed (crib) they responded positively and did all they could. But with Bloutsos host it was an absolutely different story. When I called him and requested a crib – his answer was - “no – you should tell me this before”. My wife was terrified by his response, so she called him and told, that in our order one can see, that we have 1-year-old child with us and he must supply us a crib. He called us back and informed, that in our order was not specified a request for a crib. Then we asked him to make the best effort, so he has had 4 hours ahead before our arrival. When we arrived, he supplied the crib, but was very angry, even didn’t say us “hello” and had been sending out hostility. He told, that next day he will bring the coffee and supply info about monasteries but didn’t do and didn’t greet anyone one of our family next days and had been sending out hostility. I never meet such unpleasant host in any apartment and any country. It is especially disgusting, that the reason for his anger was a request for a little baby, who all other hosts treated with a special care and kindness. I thanked the host for his effort related to the crib but would not recommend to anyone to stay in Bloutsos rooms and meet this person. In addition - the fridge was outside the room shared with the other guests, although it is not specified in the room description. There was no electric kettle in 2 rooms, we stayed in, although it is specified in the property description. The soundproofing of the rooms is awful and each word from the opposite room is heard, although in property description soundproofing is presented as a property feature.
