Was disappointed at first viewing of the room as booked a deluxe apartment with Booking.com.  So my expectations were high.  Should have known better.  Also with the doors open there were dogs barking and cockerels crowing. Forgot my earplugs!!
Anyway all that aside the room was basic but very clean and the bed/pillows comfortable.  Plenty of hot water and towels changed regularly by our lovely cleaner Irini.  She kept our room spotless.
The air con worked well and was quiet.  With the patio doors closed we couldn't hear the animals either.  Only used the kitchen to make cups of tea and sometimes sandwiches (no toaster).
There was a washing line on the balcony with a few pegs.
Plenty of wardrobe space too.
We didn't realise till the last day that there were safety deposit boxes in the corner of the bar.
No hairdryer or iron in the room but if you ask you can get them.
Its a family run place and they were so helpful and friendly.  The food was good too.
In happy hour at the bar the wine was 1 euro and beer 3 euros.
Enjoyed the pool area. The bed were very comfortable - usually like the beach, but spent half the holiday by the pool.
Its about 10 minute walk to the beach with a great restaurant along the way (pine cones) and a bar that has tribute acts and a weekly quiz.
2 supermarkets nearby to too.
After a false start I would definitely stay here again if we holiday in Aylkes.  Had a great holiday and loved the village.

Great stay

Fabulous stay at Avra Studios. Lovely peaceful location with sea and mountain views. 10 minute walk to the beach. Shops close by and plenty of good restaurants and bars within easy reach.
The accommodation is spotlessly cleaned every day.
The only down side is the kitchen area. Not really suitable to cook at all if you want to. And the shower is a let down no shower curtain and hanging half way down the wall with no where to hang the shower. No good for a single person you need a good "friend" to hold it up for you. Apart from yhat I can't fault it and would definitely recommend and will return.

Cons:
Very basic amenities for self catering. Impossible really to do any catering. Three of us sharing a room but only 2 glasses supplied, very sparse.
Have to pay extra for air con which is vital at the moment!
Too many beds crammed into a room that should really only have two. Three of us sharing a room but there are 4 beds in there and we can't move. Can't even open the wardrobe as the bed is up against it! 

Good, basic accommodation 

We stayed in a second floor room ( no lift) in June, it was small but clean, the kitchen was very poorly equipped for a self catering apartment, just a kettle, fridge and a 2 ring hot plate. It was fine for us. As we were in a top floor room, we had no shade as there was no apartment above so I could not sit out in the evening as I burn easily- with hindsight a first floor room would have been better for us.
Room was cleaned every day, clean towels every other day. No hairdryer in the room, no safety deposit box in the room - you hire a box in the bar area, we did not bother and we had no problems at all. 
The shower room is a wet room, no shower curtain so floor gets very wet and slippery- no ideal if you have a mobility problem but we were fine.
Aircon is extra at 8 euros a day not 6 as advertised 
The beds were ok, I’ve had worse in Greece! 
The pool area was lovely, plenty of beds with umbrellas, very clean, lovely gardens.
We had lunch at the pool a couple of times and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. 
There are ramps to access the apartments and easy access steps to the pool so people with mobility problems should be fine on the ground floor.
If you turn right out of the main apartments ( there are some across the road as well) there is a fantastic taverna within a 3 min walk on the left hand side, beautiful food, excellent service and very reasonable.
Keep walking down about 5-10mins and your on the main strip.
Supermarket is a 4 min walk that stocks basics.
There is a large supermarket and bakery in the main strip.
There is a very noisy dog that barks all night and several cockerels but I took ear plugs and I did not need them. 
I would stay here again, the kitchen could do with a toaster and microwave

Everything considered it fine

Wonderful stay at this small and friendly complex. Good mix of age ranges about but mainly relaxed couples and families. Lively vibe around the pool, music and good atmosphere. 
Complex clean, typical Greek that’s basic and usable, no frills but comfortable. Family run and they are always about to help and advise.

Mins from a wonderful taverna koukanari which is amazing and is popular each year we have visited. 5-10 mins walk to the beach/centre, an easy walk past 2 convenience shops and the iris bar on the way. Beach is lovely, 10euro for the umbrella and 2 beds, waiter service and lovely vibe, we used Moby’s.
When staying at Avra if you walk in the opposite direction (left) leaving hotel, walk up into a little village. Pretty walk, lively church and a tiny cafe in front of it in a square. The cafe goes above and beyond to make you comfortable, water before you order is provided. There is also a bakery’s me shop there.

Wonderful visit

Didn’t stay at these apartments but stayed locally and used the pool, which was clean. Never a problem getting sun beds. Bar serves drinks and a limited number if snsxks toasties and chips. Drink orders very slow and things often forgotten. Infact they will even argue with you over the forgotten items ! Very young girl left in charge but has a fair amount to say for herself when challenged.

What a nice restaurant! The waiters were super friendly, the food was amazing and the portion sizes were good. Also the place was clean. I had a cappucino, which was well made and we were offered a free desert. We would definitely recommend going there! 

Lovely place

Horrendous!!!! Holiday from hell!!!!
Bed bugs. Infested room!!!! Bed linen changed daily for a reason and that was due to the bed bugs smeared on bed sheets. Room was changed eventually to find a soiled nappy behind bed cabinet. Hotel Manager not very sympathetic. Husband took reaction to bites and ended up on steroids and antibiotics. Tui rep out of depth. Visited 2018. Still waiting on Tui responding to complaint.......
