Me and my wife chose this appartment for our staying in Kato Gouves. We were negatively surprised because there was an extra charge for the air condition, for which we were not initially informed. There were too many mosquitoes close to the hotel and no way to get protected from them. There wasn't also not a single piece of soap or a bottle with some shampoo in the bath room.
The hotel's staff and owners were absolutely rude and hostile, really unhelpful. They bothered us 3 times while we were swimming in the pool to remind us to pay for using the air condition.
I wouldn't recommend this apartment to anyone who wants high quality vacation and respects himself.

Dissapointing

Not bad at all, but not good. The best impression was left by John's manager who rented us a car for 10 days, just a shower. In the hotel itself everyone is welcome, everything is great but a fee for everything, at the end of the trip we had to leave at 11:00 but the transfer to the airport was only at 20:00 for staying in the room we paid 40 euros, and if you want a control from the air conditioner it's another 6 euros per day. On any taste near the sea, you want a stone entrance you want a sandy one.

It's OK.

For several years we have been going to John Mary's house where the reception is fantastic. Mickaëlis and Niki are adorable and do everything to make you have a pleasant stay. The apartments are well equipped. Everything is very clean. Shops and restaurants are nearby. And most importantly you are very close to the sea. Everything is done to make the holidays wonderfully good.

It's a wonderful stay in a great place

Stayed for 10 nights. Room ok but tired. When we arrived Mikalis showed us to the room, showed us where everything was. Said air con was available at €6 a day or you could 'open a window and let mosquitos in'. I did notice his apartment had bug screens on the windows and doors so maybe something to think about for paying customers? Had to pay for a safe key. No drawer storage. A couple of coathooks would have been useful. Shower head bracket on the wall broken so had to shower one-handed. Apartment was only cleaned twice in 10 days, we emptied the bins ourselves after 3 days. Not really acceptable.  Kitchen area basic as expected. Bottle shelf in fridge held on with sellotape. 
Pool ok but with a high step up and a long step down to the first rung on the ladder. Not good for anyone with mobility issues. Good location, close to the beach and tavernas.

Basic

This year we went back to John Mary's house. It's still a nice and warm welcome. The hotel is very well located with all the amenities. The hotel is very clean and the apartments are very nice. We feel very well there and it allows us to spend a very pleasant stay.

Very good stay.

These apartments were everything I had hoped for to ensure a quiet and relaxing holiday, The apartment we had on the ground floor was basic but clean and safe. The cooking facilities are a little basic but adequate for breakfast and lunch but with several restaurants close by, this was not an issue.The pool was cleaned daily and was rarely occupied by more than two people during our stay. Plenty of sun loungers are available and there is a bar ares by the pool for drinks. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area has three well-stocked supermarkets within easy walking distance. There is not much to do in Gouves but for a relaxing holiday it is ideal.

Quiet, peaceful and relaxing

8th time to Gouves but first time at John Mary and we loved it. One of the best hotels we have stayed in, in the area. Room was lovely and spacious, everywhere was lovely and clean. Only disappointment was the bar wasn’t open, but we did arrive early in the season. We had the pool to ourself pretty much.  Will definitely be returning !

Fab !

Stayed here in a room that was classed as an apartment (no way).so called bar you couldn't get a drink or snack during the day.found it to be very clicky as the owner had his favourites who'd been going for years.would not recommend and most certainly would not return.

Hated it

We recently returned from a 14 night stay at JohnMary apartments and what an amazing time we’ve had. The apartments are Simple, spacious & spotless, maid service at least twice a week. Michalas, Nikki  & their family made us feel welcome, homely and nothing was to much for them no matter what. The bar & pool area were spotless. There’s not a bad word to be said it was an amazing holiday & we are definitely returning. Michalas’s philosophy was, ‘Everyday is a good day, as long as you’re not in hospital,’ He also said ‘Family is what makes us rich’ our visit was like being a millionaire, we were his family & he ours that’s what this holiday holds for us. Amazing, made to feel like ‘one of the family’

What an amazing special place this is. Michalas, Nikki and Family have made us feel like part of the family, not forgetting Molly the dog. They could not do enough for us, they definitely went above and beyond and we will never forget that. Rooms are simple but spotless, maid service every few days, pool and bar area are spotless. This places teaches you how to enjoy life without any frills again. Beach, shops, restaurants and bars only a stone throw away.  This was our first visit but will definitely be back next year and many more years after that.
