Lovely small hotel situated with a great view of the bay and mountains. Beautiful beaches. All staff were very welcoming and made our stay perfect for what we wanted. Our room was spacious and super clean. Serviced every 3 days. We had bed and breakfast deal which was delicious. BBQ night and pizzas excellent too. Good prices. Pool area was spotless and comfortable. Shout out to Babis, Anna, Olga, George and Katrina for making a holiday to remember. Fabulous. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel with great staff

Just returned from here the place is lovely very friendly & welcomeing. The rooms are typical Greek & very basic  so if you want 4star then you need to pay 4 star prices. Towels & bedding changed three times over our stay of 10 days. The beds are not very comfortable & could of done with another pillow I would definitely stay again but if I was to be picky I would say our bathroom needed up dating I would also request  a room with a balcony some of the studios have been done up .  The Greek barbaque was amazing lovely food , drink & entertainment. The food in the studios was good & reasonably priced. Had a brilliant holiday & met some lovely people . 

Holiday

Just to let anyone know who’s booked to go here, request that you don’t get room 202, it’s an absolute disgrace, dirty, old and very tatty, well past it’s best.  Exposed wires and mould in bathroom, no mattress protectors, basically just dirty everywhere. Been going to kefalonia for the last 15 years, never felt the need to leave a bad review. I know that rooms can be very basic but always clean, definitely not the case here, Jet2 rep basically told us that’s what you get if book late! The friendly family we read about on reviews were nowhere to be seen and we dealt with 2 passive aggressive young females, who were no help whatsoever.  My husband and I didn’t stay there for one night, found alternative accommodation at our own expense, luckily we had transport, funds and know the island, others may be so lucky, found a beautiful self catering room for €40 per night.
Please note we were told if you want anything ie view, clean room etc you have to request it, hope this review saves someone having a miserable holiday.

Doss House in the Sun!!

We stayed for 1 week in a beautiful room. The bed was huge and comfy. The shower was fab and also huge. No shower curtain!! The staff were so friendly and helpful and very attentive.
They have two pool that have a truly breath thanking view of both the mountains and the sea. Our rooms were cleaned every other day. They have a BBQ on a sat nite and a fish BBQ on a Tues nite both €14 each.
Air con €7 per night and a save available. There are plenty of sun-loungers around the pool. 
The walk down to Lourdas beach in a lovey one with lots of places to stop off for refreshment's and 2 supermarkets.
The walk back up is a steep one, but if u ring the hotel they will pick you up for €7. 
I would return and stay at Lovidas village in a heartbeat.

Me and 3 friends flew to Kefalonia and stayed at Lovides Studios.
We had the best time ! The place was lovely and the staff were amazing, helpful, polite . What a wonderful place! We shall be returning! 
Also the flights and transfers were brilliant too. We're very happy customers :)

Fantastic Holiday

We visited in September as a family and were really excited to stay at Lovides having seen some great reviews and return visitors on various Kefalonia Facebook groups. From reading the reviews and having been to Greece before we were expecting basic accommodation.

Upon arrival myself, my partner and our two year old were given room 204 which is a ground floor room in between the studio blocks and upon entering I was quite taken aback at how basic this room was. The room is desperate for a full renovation but as well as this it’s location is really unfortunate. Having looked around the area I think 204 and 205 must be the worst rooms from a location perspective. The way the building has been designed means there is very little light getting to those rooms due to the closeness of the studios in front, there is no balcony area (or cordoned off ground floor seating area as is the case for most other ground floor studios).

All in all the room really did feel dark and miserable and this coupled with the lack of outdoor space and a busy toddler in tow left us going to bed that first night full of dread for the week ahead.

After sleeping on it we decided to see if we could swap to another room and the staff member we dealt with was able to move us. This was still a ground floor room but it had a secure area outside where we could sit, dry our towels etc. the room was still basic but very clean and had much more light. It had everything we needed and we were very happy with the move. 

My parents had a 1st floor Studio, again basic but lovely space and balcony area. No complaints there. 

I really do feel that the rooms 204 and 205 (and any others the same as this) need to be advertised separately at a lower price. If people know what they getting and choose to book these rooms to save cost it would be fair enough. If these are being charged at the same price as the other rooms in the village, the inside needs to be urgently renovated so much so that the inside makes up for the lack of light, space and view. (Even the light fixtures in there could’ve added more light but they were also desperate for an upgrade).

Aside from the initial room issues, we loved spending some days by the pool. The pools were clean, the staff were friendly and attentive at the bar. 

The Saturday night barbecue was amazing. Highly recommend this to any visitors. Great ambience and great food. 

The main lady in the evenings was brilliant. I believe she was the mother/grandmother of the family. So friendly and always making a fuss of our little boy with a mini ice cream etc. She really gave the place a family feel.

All in all despite a rocky first day we had lovely stay at lovides and if we could choose our room we would visit there again. I would give the rooms 2 star but the rest of the village (pools, staff etc.) bring this up to a 3 star.

Refurb needed (urgently in some rooms) but aside from that a nice stay

The pictures of the Jet2 website are only of the rooms that have been refurbished.  If you are unlucky to be allocated a ground floor unrefurbished room, you'll think you've been dragged back to the 1980's and in a dark hole.  1 star would be a fair rating.

I have travelled extensively in Greece for over 20 years and by far this was the worse accommodation I have stayed in.  

I was allocated a ground floor studio on the end of the facility - as a single traveller it made me feel somewhat vulnerable.  I explained my feelings of vulnerability to the hotelier and was told there were no other rooms available for the duration of my stay.  Very strange that other guests arrived during the week I was there!  

Maybe had I ate or drank onsite my appeal to move may not have fallen on deaf ears.  However due to the poor quality of accommodation I couldn't wait to get to the beach .  Which no one tells you is 20 minutes down a very steep hill and 45 back up - but only if you are fit and mobile.  Otherwise it's 8 euro in a taxi.

I have emailed Jet2 - total waste of time.  They should not be allocating such poor accommodation to travellers.

Rooms not refurbished - just awful

Just finished a fantastic 2 weeks here. From the minute we were welcomed by George to the very last day the staff have been so friendly and helpful. 
The apartment is basic as expected but spotless with regular bedding and towel changes. 2 lovely pools, plenty of sun beds and an amazing sea view. It’s a fair uphill walk from the beach but Lourdas is built on a hill so it’s to be expected. 
Bar food is inexpensive and very fresh and tasty.

Wonderful family run property

Spent a week at the Lovides Village with my 5 year old daughter and friends. Yes, the rooms are basic but had absolutely everything we needed. Staff were all so helpful, food (available 8am - 9.30pm) was reasonably priced and catered for the very particular needs of our children. The views from the hotel pool (and our rooms) were stunning, sea views and mountains. Also lots of lovely restaurants and supermarkets just a 10 minute walk up the hill (restaurants and supermarkets down the hill towards the beach too, but a much longer walk!). Brilliant holiday which didn’t break the bank.
