We are just coming to the end of a beautiful week here at Nikos apartments, Lassi. On arrival at night, we were a bit dismayed to see how far out of town it was, but it is just the perfect location as the views from the pool and balcony are just amazing plus you get the hillside breezes making the high temperatures more bearable (currently 36°). 

The Apartment would be small if it were not for the balcony- request a sea view for the best, and upstairs is a bonus (there are only 2 floors). It is basic but beds were comfortable and bathroom adequate. There are shutters to help keep room cooler. 

The pool is nice and quiet, the sun umbrellas around the pool don’t really help escape from the sun unless it’s right overhead, but there are some swing seats hanging from shady trees. 

The rooms are kept clean.  The one point is you really need air-con which is charged as follows:
1 week = 60€
2 weeks = 100€
Or 10€ a night. 
We had pre-requested this but it was NOT on when we arrived, the owner didn’t appear until the following  afternoon (keys just left in open room for you) and we had an awful sweltering 1st night there. You can pre- contact the owner on these details to make sure they know to put it on: +30 694 0712998 and +30 694 2696443. 

They were helpful during our stay and responded to texts when a couple of things needed fixing. 

The walk down to town is quite    steep but only takes around 10 minutes, however coming up the hill is a bit of a marathon especially in the hottest hours of day- we kept challenging ourselves to do it, but then halfway up with no shade anywhere asking ourselves why! A taxi does it in around 3 mins and charges 7€. In cooler hours it takes 20 mins walk depending on your fitness, it IS steep but is paved road and the views are beautiful. There’s a tiny church near the top with beautiful paintings which is a shady stop if necessary. 

We have been very happy here and the Olive Garden is a useful eatery directly across the road for an easy bite, but honestly the service is slow as they only have 3 lovely people working the bar and kitchen. A lovely place to watch the sun setting. 

Favourite restaurants in town have been Zorba, Kefalos and Nefeli. And average evening meal costs 9-15euros for a main course, beers 4.50, soft drinks 2.50-3€. I hope this helps!

Lovely peaceful self-catering accommodation 2022

Our fourth visit to Keffalonia the last one being in 2017 when we also stayed at these apts. Yes they are up a hill (this didn't put us off walking back to the apts.) And you are rewarded with a nice pool, great views and basic but clean apts. Food and drink is available across the road in your fridge or plenty of tavernas with friendly staff serving good Greek food, would definitely recommend.

Return visit

Apartments were basic, but clean. Definitely not suitable for less mobile people! It said it high on a hill, that hill was a mountain! No staff or reception at apartments, arrived when it was dark, didn't have a clue where to go or what to do ! Thank god some other holiday makers who were on their balcony told us what to do !!! Rep at airport just told us our apartment number and that was it! No rep on our minibus, just dropped off ! Didn't know where the apartment was, or that the apartment was open and key was in the apartment! Not a great start !!! Jet 2 are not using these apartments in 2021, and think they couldn't really be bothered with them this year ! Also pool was quite dirty, didn't cleannit once while we were there !

Forgotten about !

If travelling here from Airport by hire car use Google Maps as it’s listed on there. Don’t goto same name complex in Sami, you need Lassi. 

Complex is literally at top of a winding hill as previously stated and not a walk I’d wish to do a few times a day especially as it was mid 30’s while staying. 

The apartments are not labelled outside so not ideal if it’s your first time here. It’s right opposite a block called Olive Grove. 

There is nobody on site and no reception at all. I collected info from Jet2 rep at airport with room number they assigned us and keys were inside the room. Later a lady knocked to check all was ok and asked if we needed air con. 

Great views from every room and every room has a sea view. No bar but Olive Grove hotel literally opposite does drinks/food and anyone is welcome to use their bar. 

Accommodation is basic Greek style, no frills but clean and adequate. Kitchenette has 2 hot rings, kettle, sink, fridge. Shower is just a tray with shower curtain in our room. Tv in room but never used it. No bin apart from your ‘toilet paper’ bin in bathroom but there are bins located outside your block. 

Always sun loungers available round pool and was always clean. Free parking for hire cars. Air con was €35 a week but it’s not very powerful and all doors must be shut to use. Looking back we wish we’d bought a fan we saw at a supermarket for €20 as it would have felt the same. 

My main niggle was shaded areas. Whilst there it was baking hot and all the complex is directly in suns path all day long. Ok if you like to soak up rays all day long but it would be good if there was an area to sit in shade. Umbrellas around the pool are small and let sun through easily as a cheap mesh material. 

Great location though, go straight further  over the hill and you’re literally down road from Argostoli the main city in Kefalonia. Great area, loads of restaurants and shops and a beautiful harbour and lagoon where we saw quite a few turtles swimming around in the crystal clear waters. Really beautiful part of island. 

All in all you can’t go wrong for price. Kids may get a little bored there as not much to do but do bear in mind that walk up the hill is very long and very sweaty in the sun. 


Great views, basic & clean

Really can't fault the  whole experience very clean  and relaxing break.only one small issue was the hill to the complex was quite steep but after  a day there discovered that the local supermarket would drop you off with your shopping for free great result.

Great place

Stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and had the best time, the views from our balcony were to die for!!!
The old apartment block was a little out of date(decor wise) but for the price you can’t grumble and everything was in working order! The only problem with this place would be that it is located on top of a very steep hill, we are only in our early twenties and it took it out of us, I’d suggest renting a car or quad bike to get around the island! But taxi from the strip was only 5€ Back up to the apartments... and the views made this all worth it(breathtaking). The cleaners were lovely and kept the room clean and tidy and we got new towels twice during our stay. 
I don’t go back to many places, I like to visit new places, but we have both said we would definitely go back!!!
Also the pool doesn’t have a bar, but you can take drinks around the pool if you bought them from a supermarket!! We visited the hotel 5 seconds away which serves food and drinks throughout the day and night(all staff are lovely)!!!

Loved every minute

We returned today from a week at Nikos Studios in Lassi. We were well aware of the previous reviews about the hill and yes it is quite a hill. I am a 44 year old asthmatic and it took us between 10 - 15 minutes depending on the time of day to get up to Nikos. If you spend 20 euros at Mina supermarket they give you a lift back up for free which we took advantage of a couple of times.
The apartments are basic but comfortable, however the bathrooms could do with being upgraded. Possibly a bottle of water in the fridge on your arrival would be welcomed and i think the aircon should be included in the price especially in the height of season. 
There are always plenty of sunbeds and i have never been to such a friendly complex before, it was an absolute pleasure. 
The cleaner is an absolute diamond and all in all with a little more effort this could be an outstanding place. We would definitely visit again.

Hidden Gem in the hills.

I have never reviewed before but wanted to give a view. Had a lovely holiday. Weather fantastic and last one with daughter nearly 18
Hotel located at top of hill. Although it is not as bad as suggested. Even I managed it. However it becomes tedious having to go down to food and then back

So here's the thing 
Room was very small for 2 let along 3.no privacy and bed was so uncomfortable. Bathroom tiny and shower poor - simplex tray with shower so floor always wet...
Cleaners were lovely and do an amazing job
Pool area always quiet and plenty of beds. Pool not as clean as would hope. Always had bugs in and whilst this is not an issue the pool was not cleaned often so they multiplied..
If you want a quiet location with few frills then this is perfect. The views are incredible and you never get fed up with them 
But remember you get what you pay for. Was cheap and cheerful and I do regret not spending a bit more for comfort

Nikos apartments. Lassi

My boyfriend and I have just returned from 2 weeks staying at Nikos Studios. We previously visited Kefalonia for a day last year on a cruise, we went to a beach in Lassi so we knew what to expect from the area. Yes, Nikos is at the top of what can be described as a steep hill. However, from Lassi side it is a series of zigzags with plenty of stopping points. From the Argostoli side it is a lot steeper but shorter. We got a taxi back from Argostoli twice when the heat got 2 much, it cost €6 so not bad. I didn’t think the walk was too bad, I’ll be honest I’m over weight and unfit and I managed it twice a day on most days over a two week period. If you have mobility issues it may not be for you. However a phone is provided at the studios to call a taxi. If you buy food at any of the supermarkets down the hill to the left they will give you a lift up if you spend €20 or more.

The studio itself was basic, with a good sized fridge and mini freezer, sandwich toaster, two hobs, plenty of cutlery and crockery, air con (€35 a week and a must in the heat). Our room was cleaned every other day I think, towels changed twice a week and it was generally very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. There is plenty of parking for hire cars. 

These are really quiet apartments and studios. There are no staff on site 24/7 but when they are they were very helpful. If you are looking for a lively resort style hotel then this is not for you. If you like to do your own thing then this is perfect. The views are great. The pool is always quiet, no reserving your sun beds needed. No bar/restaurant on site means you can bring your own food and drinks to the pool area. 

I would absolutely stay here again.

Spoilt the holiday totally...but at least the view was lovely

Pool only cleaned at night as owners dont live at the property..so full of bugs and leaves...not heated so cold in the cooler months..the nesting birds were also dipping in and out of it ..
The olive garden next door does food and had a bar and showed local football matches
Apartment itself was very clean 
Although bins only got emptied on the third day ...
Trip around the island was fabulous and the ithaka boat cruise was a great day out
I ended up spending another 100.pounds to stay in an apartment on the level close to the bars and shops 
It's quite a challenging island to drive around with hills .hair pin bends and shear drops...I didn't hire a car due to these challenging things
It's a beautiful island although weather was very mixed and cloudy but warm mid may ..
People were friendly and plenty of places to eat and drink
