I highly recommend this property the owners are very nice they make you feel at home kindly available a view of the sea and breakfast a meter from the sea is unique the rooms taken x the family are beautifully large and well distributed but only the tv but it's not a problem the evening outside on the terrace is covered by the sea

It's just a wonderful place.

Beautiful family run apartments run by a lovely family. The rooms are cleaned daily and all over look the gardens, the bar and then of course the sea and zante in the distance. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of options. Set in a quiet, relaxing location right on the beach. There are plenty of restaurants just a 5min walk with a few supermarkets and souvenir shops in the same area. The bus stop to nearby towns is a mere 2min walk and is q  20min ride to skala. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly return one day.

Beautiful family run apartments

Stayed for 3 nights on a very last minute booking. The Albouro Appts in Katelios, are located in a very peaceful garden setting at the far right of the ‘beach.👍🏻

It is reached via a short, but pot holed track just after the junction from the main road … (take care with your hire car and on your way back in the dark!) Some ground level lighting on the first section. Use the torch on your phone for the final approach to the building or when walking up from the beach 😅)
The rooms have fabulous sea views and the balconies are spacious enough to house a couple of loungers, a table and chairs and a very handy laundry maiden. Such a relaxing location I’m sure from the top floors the sea views must be gorgeous👍🏻👍🏻

The apartment was cleaned daily, but we did not receive any clean towels (other than the ones provided on arrival) during our stay. Bit disappointing as it was August and 30 degrees plus, so a couple of showers a day each were being taken … soggy, damp towels to use not the best!! 👎

We had a safety deposit box in the wardrobe and the key was provided with the room key which was fantastic .. no additional charge 👍🏻

Our room was booked for 4 people… 2 parents and 2 older teenage daughters. Where as the 
apartment was really spacious and came with a well resourced kitchen, for us it did have some slight issues. 

The sofa bed….. not at all suitable for older children / teenagers or Adults … very uncomfortable… very wobbly, our daughters were glad it was only for 3 nights… they didn’t really sleep! Might be ok for young children or 1 person possibly? 👎

The ‘lounge area’ where the sofa bed is, has no air conditioning unit 
and as it’s glazed was very hot and stuffy / uncomfortable especially at night👎

The AC unit was in the bedroom, however its output was only mediocre at best, so it remained constantly on for the whole time we were there .. wasn’t strong enough to circulate cool air into lounge area sadly👎

Beds in bedroom 2x small singles very, very soft mattresses, for us 👎

Bathroom has a Jack and Jill doors from lounge and bedroom … however would be better described as a ‘wet room’ as shower only has 1 glass panel and no curtain … be prepared! 💦 💦
Shower was quite powerful though and good range of temperatures 👍🏻

Breakfast (only took it once… usual basic Greek offer), served in the taverna on the front of the property … gorgeous seaside setting👍🏻

Limited number of sunbeds on the stony beach in front of the taverna … most were reserved very early each morning we were there … not sure if they are charged as we didn’t get to use them👎

If you are after a basic, clean, quiet chilled out location, and you are not bothered by no pool access, then give the Albouro a try, you will not be disappointed 👍🏻

Basic Seaside rooms with a view

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, offering a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The sea view from the balcony was simply breathtaking, allowing me to wake up to the sound of waves crashing and enjoy the sunset every evening.

The breathtaking seafront location, spacious and clean apartments, and exceptional service made my experience unforgettable. The daily buffet breakfast, featuring delightful local specialties, adds an extra touch of culinary delight. Can't wait to return!

A Seaside Paradise

We booked for four days and also got a check-in through the travel portal. The payment was also due right away. Now, six weeks before arrival, suddenly cancellation due to overbooking. No response to a personal letter and no chance on the phone. A shamelessness. I think with our four days we weren't profitable enough.

We had paid in full for two weeks at Albouro Apartments prior to the covid lock down.. So we were forced to cancel. The owner was charming about it and confirmed our new booking for this September in writing. Just by lucky chance I contacted him in August  to enquire about airport transfers. He responded with an email to say he believed we had cancelled and that he had re-booked the apartment. "His computer hadn't been working properly, things had been difficult with Covid and that he would refund our money".  We were devastated and took several days to find alternative accommodation as everything suitable for us  in Katelios was fully booked. Thereafter followed four weeks of phone calls (never answered) and emails with false promises of refunding our payment of Euros 2,100. Our arrival in Katelios began 12 days of visiting Albouro to try and regain our money.  It was eventually obtained (in instalments) and with much ill will from the owner and a great deal of stress for us  only one day before we were packing to come home. It was no way to spend the run up to the holiday or indeed the time spent in the resort. A truly bad holiday.
During our stay we learned that we were not the only people to suffer in this way. Others had actually arrived to find they had nowhere to stay. 
Of note, we did not see inside the apartment building itself but the exterior looked tired with what looked like builders' sand for a beach and very shabby beach beds.  The web site gallery belied the actual thing. 
Our original booking had been done through Booking.com but because  the subsequent changes because of Covid  had been done directly with the owner, they were unable to take up the case on our behalf. Another lesson learned.

Double booked

The location meets the expectations. Really seafront, splendid view at all hours. Easy to reach. Exceptional location. Clean and comfortable room, spacious with everything you need. Optimal aeration; for the period since i explored, end of August, the conditioning has not served.

A week of relaxation

Traditional, laid back and very very friendly. Good food and reasonable drinks.  
The beach directly at the venue is rocky, but walk about 150metres either side and you will find yourself in the clearest, warmest sea. 
Nontas and his family are fantastic hosts. Breakfast is very good - eggs, Greek sausage, bacon, pastries, fruit etc etc. 
This place isn’t super modern, super eauipped and faultless,  but it is clean, welcoming, Greek and very laid back which is exactly why we chose to come to Kefalonia.

Lovely holiday with the family

We ate here a couple of times.  Lovely setting at the quieter end of the beach.  Good choice on the menu at a good price.  Friendly waiter.  When you walk to the beach front, turn left to the Albouro taverna (apartments).  We will certainly visit again next time we’re in Katelios.
