Just got back from Canadian Hotel in Zakynthos would highly recommend this hotel all the staff were excellent throughout the hotel, the breakfast was excellent and all the other food that was served in the Savvy bar, will definitely go back there, i just like to thank them all again for making it such a lovely holiday

Great Holiday

We had an amazing time when we stayed in this hotel until an incident happened before we left, however the manager made all the efforts to solve the matter which we are very grateful for.

Location: Excellent, close to the beach, restaurants and close to the strip.

Food: We had breakfast included in our package holiday and they have 3 breakfast options. We always chose EGGS which was kind of like an english breakfast with a choice of orange juice or coffee. 
They serve breakfast from 8am to 2pm and you have to get a voucher from reception. Their restaurant Savvy serves amazing food and their staff are hardworking and brilliant, they always gave us welcoming smiles. George always made time to chat with us and even gave us free shots on my birthday :) It was okay to order food to takeaway for us to eat back in our room.

Room: The air-con cost 10 euro a day, the wifi 3 euros per day per person and the safe we didn’t even bother. The room was big enough for the three of us and the fridge/freezer was a luxury for us. It’s the only time that I stayed in a hotel where the freezer actually froze the bottled water. The shower was a bit tiny but it’s okay since we’re only small in build. I found spots of blood stains on my bed sheet and on the new blankets they gave one morning, so I asked for a new one in reception and she gladly gave me a thick pink one. There was a stove and utensils to use if we wanted to cook which was convenient. 
YOU CANT FLUSH toilet paper in the toilet!! (Fair enough)

Staff: The two receptionist during the night and day were exceptionally lovely and helpful. it’s a shame we didn’t get their names. The night time receptionist printed us a timetable for the bus when we asked for information. 

Swimming pool: It was quite small so we didn’t use it (we swam in the sea everyday instead) but it was nice to sit and chill in the pool area at night. 

Tours: If you want to make the most of your time in Zakynthos, I recommend Nefis Travel Zakynthos because they do eco friendly turtle tours and the Back to the Roots tour allowed us to meet local residents in villages and learn about the history of this beautiful island. 

In summary, would I stay here again? I’m not sure but I will definitely come back to eat at Savvy.

HONEST REVIEW

Great hotel in a central location rooms were comfy and clean close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Staff very friendly  also a big shout out to George and the staff at the Savvy bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. Only downside you will have to pay for WiFi In the rooms but free in nearby bars and restaurants.
All in all would definitely return.

Very welcoming apartment can't do enough for you George and the rest of the staff cheerful clean rooms clean towels every day lovely pool near to beach and shops 10 min transfer to resort will be returning 

Relaxing stay

Best Bar in Zakynthos, felt like home, amazing staff! Thanks George!!! Food is perfect, breakfast is amazing, never missed one thing....I really recommend the Hotel, the Savy majnly for quality drinks!!!

Very nice clean hotel bar staff and cleaners very polite when dealing with customers and guests very pleased to have stayed at the Canadian will do so in the future . Will definitely stay again when in laganas. 

Canadian hotel the place to stay in laganas

Had an amazing holiday in Zante whilst staying at the Canadian Hotel.

Hotel was clean, staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Food at the hotel bar was very tasty and at a good price when comparing to similar establishments nearby. It is also well positioned for the beach, main strip or a quick 15 min walk to the next town of Kalamaki.

We did experience a leak from one of the rooms upstairs, however this was resolved quickly and we were moved without fuss into another room nearby.

My only real negative was the noise. The walls are paper thin both internally and externally and with Laganas being a party destination this does not bode well if you are after an early night prior to a full day of events starting the next morning. The hotel is sandwiched  between the main road between Laganas and Kalamaki and another which runs to the front of the hotel. Quad bikes seem to go past regularly between the hours of 8am to 3am. Also because of the thin walls cleaning staff can be heard regularly throughout the morning, not ideal after a night of over exuberance.

My final point resolves around a €15 charge for WiFi which we were told was per person. Because of this it worked out cheaper to pay my current phone provider £2 per day to use my own data contract and tether other phones, free WiFi is available throughout Laganas at most Bars. In this day and age Free WiFi is a given I would have thought.

Overall, and despite the two issues raised above I would happily stay at the hotel again, although I can imagine in peak season the noise being off the chart.

Recent visit

Just back from a week at the Canadian we had a brilliant break.  Accommodation was very good, cleaned daily surroundings cleaned daily.  Bar and snack bar excellent value and always lively.  I would highly recommend this hotel it is very well placed for good restaurants the Avanti is just round corner brilliant food excellent value, well worth a visit or two.  We also hired a quad from 2 to 4 wheels, best we have ever hired.  Zante is a great place to explore on quads, great fun.  Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent break

I stayed at this hotel with 3 of my friends for 7 nights and at first we thought it was okay as the reception staff gave us a lovely welcoming and introduction. However, firstly we found out that despite saying ‘free wifi’ on the ‘popular amenities’ when searching the hotel, we actually had to pay a fair bit extra per day, per person if we wanted to use it. Secondly, the pool looks much bigger in the pictures online than it actually is. Then, and more importantly, a couple of days into the holiday we started noticing things in our room go missing. Things which we deliberately left in a safe place in the hotel room so that we wouldn’t lose them. It started off with a bracelet which had sentimental value to one of my friends, followed by brand new makeup items such as mascara and a powder pallet, and one day my friend even had her new £80 Armani perfume go missing. We would be using these items in the morning and by the time we returned to the hotel room that evening (after the cleaners had been in the room during the day) they were gone from the places we left them. This wasn’t just one item that we could misplace, which we considered at first. It was multiple items, belonging to all of us and from all parts of the hotel room, that we put in a safe or usual place so that we would know where they were and not lose them. We also noticed one night that the items in one of our suitcases wasn’t how we left them that morning, making us think that the cleaner had been through our things. When complaining about all of this to the manager, nothing was done about our troubles and just before we left the manager said “well the cleaner said she didn’t touch anything”. I understand his position in this case, since the cleaner had denied, but our stay was ruined with this incident and having to leave without those missing belongings. The hotel is in a great location, the food in the bar is nice but I would not recommend going to this hotel.

Would not recommend unless you don’t mind the cleaner taking your personal belongings!!!

Very friendly staff, very nice food at a reasonable price too! Can’t complain with anything really it was overall very nice. Had no problems when we stayed there for a week, would highly recommend and would return if I went to laganas again.
