Our first time in Kos to attend my daughter’s wedding at a nearby resort, so we didn’t know what to expect.  We booked three apartments here, all were spotlessly clean with everything that we could need and wonderful sea views.  After 4 days here, I suffered a back injury which left me incapacitated.  Denise called the Doctor for me and visited me with snacks and coffee.  Her kindness and compassion went over and beyond what I could’ve ever expected.  She also moved me to a ground floor apartment to make mobility easier.  If you want a true taste of Greek hospitality, come here.  Food is fresh and great value.  Denise, her husband George and their entire family make you feel so welcome.  I am so desperately unhappy to be leaving here but I am doing so more relaxed and with a smile on my face.  Oh, and we will definitely be back!  Highly recommended!

Perfection

We stayed in Archodia for our holiday 11.08.-25.08.2020 and were really happy about our choice. The rooms are simple but perfectly clean. The house owners are so friendly and helping if you need anything. Dionisia is always there and finds solution for any of your problems.
Archodia is located a little bit up, so you have a great view to the sea. You can observe the sun rise from your balcony in the morning. You can reach the beach in about 10 minutes slow walking. We preffered the beach close to the port. That was about 15-20 minutes by feet. The upper town is also reachable very well. but we were lazy and took the car there :-D
Kefalos is a nice little city, you can chill here, you have nice smal beaches with beautiful water but you have also many car rentals (I recommend Dimitris car rentals near the port and Katerina for quads and bikes) to make trips. Kos is smal so you never drive over 45 minutes even if you go the bigest distances. I recommend Thermes beach at night! Kos city, Plaka Forrest-Park esp. if you love cats or have kids, drive to kardamena and take boat to Nissyros and Alykes lake + you can combine with a day at Tigaki beach.
I wish you also such a beautiful holiday as we had.

Great stay, amazing and helping houseowner

Archodia studios is a nice place in a good location, very close to the bus station for the airport and Kos. Rooms are spacious and nice. The fact that the staff didn't speak any English or that the trash in the bathroom wasn't cleaned every day was a bit disappointing though.

Nice rooms but staff speaks no English

I stayed here 18/25 June 2019.
I booked in January  through Travel Republic to stay at STENNA. Unfortunately Travel Republic messed up the booking and separated a party booking of 3 and moved 2 off us, myself to Archonita and one other to Eleni hotel.
At Archonita I had an upstairs room looking up to Kefalos castle and mostly open countryside.
The room was clean. There were 2 slight problems -
The shower did not have a bracket to put it on the wall so you had to hold it.
The sliding door into the room is frosted fire glass. By 5.30AM the room is bright as daylight, so I taped rubbish bags to darken the room.  I would suggest putting a curtain up.
The internet signal was not good at all and continually dropped.
I made no complaints when I stayed there, sometimes its just easier and less stressful to deal with things yourself - for example the bags on the door.

The cleaner came every day except Sunday.
Towels and sheets were changed every day except the Sunday which was great.
The cutlery, crockery and pots were spotless.

The place is run by a lovely friendly family who also run the pool café / bar.

Archonita is up a steep hill. I had a hire car which was great. The only time I had to walk the hill was at night when I was drunk on ouzo.

I left the studio clean and tidy, I did not hire the AC as there was a decent through breeze from the bathroom to the balcony windows.

I would not stay there again, only because I would prefer a studio on a flat location.

Gosh, I stayed here with my son in 2002 - what a superb place it was to stay. Very friendly family run place. They were really helpful. Ideally placed for the beach but not too near to the bars. As it was a a slight hill, the views from our room were fantastic. It was my first holiday on my own with my son. The room was perfect for us, just the basics but that is what you expect. Clean & tidy. We used to laugh at the hot water situation, but again you got used to it, and as it was a small place with few rooms, it was not all the time. We found the pool to be superb and my son leart to swim there as so quiet. I would recommend this place if you want a basic cheap holiday, with no fuss and no noisy clubs nearby. Only 2 floors high and not many rooms, family used to live on site so were available if any problems

Looks as good as every

Archontia studio was a very good and relaxing experience. The rooms are quite simple and just good and enogh for what we needed. We've been impressed by the eccelent cleaning which happens everyday(exept sunday). The owners is a Family,and they alla are very nice people, gentile and pay attention to your needs.
A very positive experience, we really recommend it. And if all of these reasons aren't enough ..just go there for getting a tender hug from a real mediterrean grandma, included in the price !!

essential, good cleaning, cheap price

The rooms come with a very basic hot plate.
The shower has nothing to hold it to the wall and the water heater (a tin container on the roof - very good idea!) runs out of hot water every now and again, but as it's so hot, a cold shower is nice.
The food served in the on site bar is fantastic, the milkshakes are brilliant and made in-front of you.
The owners are always about, really nice and genuine people.
The swimming pool is nice. (There was random children in the pool at times, however)
Some reviews note the steep hill leading up to the hotel, it is not really steep enough to warrant moaning about unless you have a disability, then most of Kefalos is a no-go.
The beach is a very short walk away.
Shops are a very short walk away.
The rooms are very, very, very hot at night and there is no air-conditioning, but it is a budget hotel so can't be expected.
Overall a very good hotel and recommended.

Good, but basic

my husband and i stayed at the Archontia studios and were more than satisfied with the accomadation which is run by a small family who were very kind, nothing was too much trouble for them, the surrounding area isn't full of clubs and bars, but if u want a relaxing holiday we  would certainly recommend it here.

Me & my wife have just returned from a week stay at the archontia apartments, and to summarise it was a really nice relaxing break, and good value for money.
The apartments are in a great location, about 10 mins walk to the beach & bars, the views are amazing, we stayed on the first floor in room 19 and had panoramic views from the balcony of the whole bay & village, the apartments are spotless clean and simple but comfortable and would recommend them.
Kefalos itself is very low key, it was very quiet with tavernas having just a couple of people in, and the beach too was quite desserted, it depends what your after but we found the tavernas not very authentic, the only greek meal offered was mousaka and kebebs, after 1 week we had enough, the beach is not great either, its quite pebbly and could do with a really good clean up, along the beach is many half built buildings, so its not very pleasant to sunbathe next too.
We hired a quad bike - 30euros for the day, that was great fun and we went all around the island, kos town is very nice and like what traditional greece should be like.
The locals were very friendly and very helpfull, but I'm not sure how long kefalos can survive as a tourist resort! - the people have got heart but the place has no soul.
The sun shone everyday and for just a three and half hour flight kos is a great holiday destination, we will return but probably stay at Lambi or Marmari that are more traditional and have lovelly sandy beaches.
