The pictures on the web are nothing like the actual hotel.  Owner was friendly when we arrived, however when i questioned the room  (suppose to be self catering - no toaster/ not enough dishes or cups), needed to pay extra for air conditioning. He quickly changed his friendly behaviour.  There are very few seats at the pool, which was snapped up by 7am every morning. There was a charge for using  sun bed at the beach.  The location of our room was beside the owners mother and  hotel workers, it appeared as if we were staying in a part of the hotel  where family / workers lived. I would not recommend staying in this hotel.

Very good small hotel , beautiful beach and crystal clear sea with great views, just across the road is a supermarket and loads of restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
we chose a larger room with three single beds which was very clean and spacious , probably the most relaxing holiday we have ever had , 
We like to use 2 star bed with breakfast and prefer to use the local restaurants.
The poor points with this hotel were the breakfast which consisted of stale cereals and very stale bread re heated  which the cats even refused to eat , also available were  hard boiled eggs cheese and ham , tinned fruit and yogurt which was ok for the first couple of days but after a week of the same became boring , we complained to the restaurant staff but were ignored .  the fresh pastry was good though , not what we expected for 2 star , we just brought fresh fruit , cereal and bread from the nearby shop which were very good , 
Having to pay 6euro  each per day for sunbeds on the beach was a shock!
The kitchen staff were let loose with a chainsaw and proceeded to destroy the local trees and other plants in flower and promptly cut through the water supply tp our room. They also dug up and removed some of the better sunbeds right alongside us whilst we were trying to relax and leaving unattractive holes which were just left.  We felt that we were just in the way probably due to the end of season approaching . We complained to the TUI rep,  but so far they have just made excuses as to why the rep didn't come to visit the hotel or contact us properly until we got home and that the sunbeds were free around the pool which we would have been told by reception when we arrived.  The first we knew about the charges was when we read the sign on the beach, and presumed this was just for people not staying at the hotel and other guests resorted to laying on the sand.  
Lovely hotel but with a little more effort from the owners could be much better and would ensure customers would return and stay to use the restaurant in the evening.  We found some really fab restaurants just up the road and the local supermarkets were really friendly and helpful too.  

our holiday ,

The location is unbeatable if you want complete relaxation. The beach and bay are stunning. 

We stayed B&B which gave us the reliability to go out and visit other restaurants, however, the food here for lunch and evening meals was superb. Breakfast is continental and basic, but actually enough, although you can purchase full English. 

As you would expect of a two star, the rooms are basic, but as you don’’t spend much time in them, it wasn’t a problem for us. The hotel is kept clean in all areas. 

The thing that makes the difference with this hotel is the people, they are lovely and are happy to chat at the bar. Nothing is too much trouble. Service is delivered with a smile and if you try a bit of Greek, they are happy to help with pronunciation!

Unbeatable location

If you have read any of the previous negative reviews as we did before we came away please ignore them. I cannot disagree with them more. This hotel is a little gem. Yes it is only 2 star but I have stayed in worse 3 star hotels. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and happy. We got given a ground floor apartment annex due to there being 3 of us. Although initially disappointed not to have a second floor room with balcony and sea view our room turned out to be really spacious and very clean. It had a large terrace with a partial sea view when you looked over the wall. Our room was cleaned every day, with towels changed daily. You cannot beat the location of this hotel, right on the beach front. We ate breakfast every morning over looking the sea. The breakfast is a little basic and perhaps could do with a few more options but it met our needs. There are so many restaurants to choose from around the hotel and we didn’t have a bad meal all week. The restaurant attached to the hotel does really good food and I can recommend the prawn souvlaki. We will definitely return to this hotel when we next come back to gorgeous Kefalos.

Gorgeous Hotel

Spent a week at the Sacallis beach hotel with my son. The rooms are basic but extremely clean and all you need for a self-catering holiday. This is a small family run hotel and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff, they all went above and beyond and made the holiday a delight for my 6 year old son. The restaurant is sensational and offers a variety of meals for all tastes. The beach front location is sensational and you really have no need to stray from the hotel, everything you need is on site! It was a relaxed and extremely enjoyable week, and at my sons request we will 100% be back! 

Chilled week

The photos of this hotel do not reflect the reality.  Reception area is shabby and unwelcoming. Reception was very rarely manned. Rooms were not very clean. We had a tide mark around the plug hole in the bath which was not cleaned the whole of the time we were there. There was no shower curtain so the bathroom flooded when we had a shower. No room to sit on the toilet, had to turn sideways as the toilet was too near the sink unit. Towels were scratchy and had holes in them.
The room size was tiny. Beds very hard and uncomfortable.  Bedding changed every 3 days but you only got a sheet, the majority of the time the sheets had holes in. We had a small window which was broken and had been taped up with masking tape.  Curtains at the patio windows were about 15 inches too short from the ground.  The patio was not cleaned the whole 2 weeks we were there, covered in bird mess.  Breakfast was shocking, we had to queue behind a rope and ask for what items we needed, the women serving barked instructions at you and were more interested in sitting using their phone rather than serving.  Breakfast consisted of bread, cheese, ham, cereals and tinned fruit. Orange, tea and coffee.  The tea was a teabag dipped in the water and milk which was shocking as it just ended up as hot watery milk.  Sunbeds are 10 euros a day, further down the beach they were 5 euros a day.  Air con 8 euros a day.  The swimming pool was dirty with green algae all around it. We were told that the front doors were locked at night and that evening access was through the side door, this was actually through the ladies toilets, the problem with this is that people used this exit to go to the pool and beach at all times of the day, not a nice experience as a lady when you come out of the toilet to find a man walking through. We went to the pool at the bar a few doors up which was lovely and free to use if you spend 8 euros in the bar. Drinks at Sacallis much more expensive than further down in the resort.  The only good thing about this hotel is the beachside location.

Not recommended at all Very disappointing

A basic hotel is fine if it’s clean, our room wasn’t. The floors were wiped over with a mop and the bins emptied and that was it. The bath had an impressive scum line when we arrived, this got cleaned on day eleven of our stay but it was still dirty.  The shower screen was filthy, it didn’t look like it had been cleaned for the whole of the season and was covered in soap/shampoo scum. The rest of the room was in desperate need of updating and the sheets were threadbare and frayed. The kitchen area was very under equipped,the room apparently could sleep five yet there was on one bowl,two plates and a distinct lack of cutlery.
There is a very small pool this also was dirty with a lovely green line around the water edge. The area around the pool again was dirty. We never saw it being swept or hosed down and there were bits of food, old straws and someone’s old plaster there the whole time we were there. They emptied the cesspool that was next to the pool every couple of days.
If you wanted to use the sun beds belonging to the hotel that were on the beach it was ten euros a day for two. The beach was like one big ashtray.
Tha family that ran this hotel were lovely,very friendly.
Antonio’s restaurant that was attached to the hotel was great, we ate there several times and the food was excellent.
All in all we did not enjoy our holiday one bit and couldn’t wait to get back on the plane to come home!

Two star basic should not mean unclean.

We were invited to a wedding that was happening at kastri and then back at sacallis inn. So we decided to stay at the same hotel as the group for 6 nights to really be a part if it and that bit was  lovely. However the hotel is very basic. The beds were very uncomfortable and the sheets as rough as sandpaper! We had a studio room on the ground floor. This had a door and window that opened out to the car park and next to the kitchen, so not ideal. Hot water for showers was hit and miss and the daily delivery for whatever at 8.30am where very loud. The septic tank collection one morning was beyond noisy and then came the accompanying smell straight into our room which was disgusting! All in all from a room perspective we couldn't wait to leave. That said, the actual bar/restaurant area was lovely overlooking the beach, which we really enjoyed. The people that ran it were lovely too. Breakfast was OK for me as I don't eat much but u can buy a full English if u want more. The resort of Kefalos is very quiet but really lovely. If u don't mind 2* basic accommodation then the sacallis is a great base to stay in. If you do then stay somewhere else.

room small we could have a shower by sitting on toilet views were great breakfast was rubbish uou had to buy cappochino where  you would get a lafge one in England for 2.00 a small cup was 3.50 meals were large if you were a big eater spag bog was spadhetti no sauce or meat all meals had salad and fries which were heavily seasoned i lost a gold earring a lady told me she handed it in but when i asked about it nooone knew a thing . if you want a holiday with nothing to do i am disabled and cant walk far we went to the supermarket over the road they were lovely

We visited the Secalis Inn this September courtesy of Love Holidays.
The hotel is right "on the beach" and has a decent bar and small pool.
We had an apartment which was a little old fashioned but clean and spacious compared to the tiny hotel rooms, however the A/C units were ancient and rusted. Furthermore, we were charged an extra eight euros per day for the A/C. Also, although the sunbeds around the pool were free, we had to pay ten euros per day to use the beach sunbeds which were owned by the hotel! Elsewhere sunbeds were charged at 6 -7 euros per day.
The towels/beds/sheets were regularly changed, whilst the room was cleaned really well.
The food and drinks at the hotel were OK but expensive compared to elsewhere in the resort.
The hotelier was business like but not over friendly.
We cannot recommend this hotel and feel there are much better options in the resort,
