Athina the owner is an absolute sweetheart, welcoming and lovely. The location is perfect - 30 seconds from Nea Chora beach with its cute tavernas and bars, and 10/15 minutes walk from the old town. The room was perfect for a solo traveller - cosy, comfortable single bed, large wardrobe space and a cute little balcony. There’s also a kettle and fridge provided along with cutlery, plate and cups. 

The en-suite bathroom was fine, but the shower space is very small so you’re essentially showering over the toilet, and as it’s a wet room, everything gets soaked. I was scared of flooding the room and having the water flow out into the bedroom but this doesn’t happen so no need to worry! Also, the air conditioner leaks onto the balcony so you’ll end up with a big puddle if it’s left on.

All in all, a great stay and definitely recommended! Thanks Athina (and Lana!)

Lovely stay!

We found the HEART of Chania at a reception desk at Penelope rooms. Athina you are an absolute star and this is my honest review.  A humble block of apartments where the highest standard of cleanliness and fresh smelling laundry awaits you. This is a comfortable place where you can experience the joys of being in Chania, let your hair down and not fuss about having to dress up. It is all about a stroll on Nea Chora beach, literally a stone’s throw away and walking barefoot back into the room. Rooms are equipped with A/C, a fridge and a TV, WIFI was great. We had a lovely balcony from which I could hear the rumble of the waves. There is a great coffee shop in the corner overlooking the beach, a great substitute for a hotel breakfast lounge or meeting point and a bakery just behind the property with the most amazing coffee and breakfast goodies. This is ideal for beach lovers who prefer being close to the sea and then walk into the old town which is only a 15 minute pleasant walk away or a €5 taxi ride. There are also many restaurants along the beach to suit everyone’s taste and budget. Do not hesitate to book!

A MUST STAY IN CHANIA!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean, the towels were so soft and smelling very nice, the area is quiet but very close to the beach.
Athina, the owner is a wonderful lady who helped us with everything we asked and even let us check out very late, as we had the flight in the afternoon.
We were really happy with everything and would surely come again. Highly recommended!

Great holiday

Nea Hora Beach is just around the corner with tavernas and cafés. Lovely service! Some years ago I enjoyed the hospitality of this lovely hotel! 2015, 2016...the Cretan trip continues. Thanks for introducing me Crete!

Very nice service and good hotel near the beach!

The owner was very nice with us. The room was good value for the money. Maybe hace a shower in the bathroom could be a little bit tricky if you are not used to this kind of bathrooms. Is near the beach and in 15 min. you're in the center. I would return. 

Good

Just to start, the hotel is close to Chania town (10-15 minutes by walk). For the days that you don't plan to go populer beaches of Crete, there is very nice beach by 1-min walk distance. Its location is very quiet during nights comparing to old town, btw old town is very close for dinner and lunch. Its location was perfect for us.

The hotel is very very clean and cosy. The staff is very kind and helpful. This hotel is highly recommended for couples and families with children.

Cosy hotel with affordable rates

In a very quiet back street only a minute or two from the coast road with its wide choice of eating places, and an excellent beach which is a candidate for a Blue Flag award in 2017. Both rooms which I occupied had sunny balconies on which to bask. Toiletries are provided, and an electric kettle - but no other cooking facilities. The 18 rather steep stairs up to each of the first and second floors are a drawback for an older person with slight walking disability

The reception is run by Athina, a very welcoming, friendly and available girl. She also gave me the late check-out (free) on the last day of stay as my room was not yet serviced, which I very much appreciated. The single room is a little small with dated and old furniture but there is everything you need (including stoves, boiler, refrigerator and air conditioning area). Although small in size it has fine furnishings and even new tickets, I would think in a low-budget relationship.

Great location, cleanliness and courtesy.

Nice place to visit the city of Chania because it is 1.5km from the center and in the evening the walk is pleasant especially because nearby the hotel is always parking as opposed to the center.The room was on the 3rd floor it was big very bright with 4 windows and 2 balconies one with table and chairs, room provided with all the comforts c and also the fridge is a boiler we asked for a phone and we were made to find in the room.for any inconvenience or request I always talked to a really nice girl available.I found it really good and it is very close to the beach and many restaurants

Staff very friendly and available! Large room with balcony. A minute's walk from the sea. Daily cleaning of the room, clean towels every two days. Highly recommended!!!! Only 10 minutes' walk from the old town, 1 minute's walk from all the restaurants and bars. Near a beautiful beach...
