Just returned from a fabulous 10 day holiday at Maleme Mare Hotel, we arrived after midnight and was taken straight to our room where we was given a box with sandwiches and fruit, really thoughtful. Our room was on the 1st floor which looked over the well kept gardens. The room was spotlessly clean and modern with a large bed, sofa fridge and tv, very efficient air conditioning and high pressure shower. There is a circular window which was letting light in but we soon rectified that by putting our suitcase in front of it. Slept well every night - no music disturbance. 
The hotel has 2 beautiful pool areas both with plenty of luxury sun loungers. The food was very good and we always had clean plates - lovely selection of bread, cereal, cooked items, fruits, yogurt etc for breakfast, if anything a better quality orange juice would have been appreciated. Lunch and dinner were also a good standard again with a good choice, always clean plates from us. Every staff member from the gardeners, housekeepers, chefs, bar and restaurant staff were always very welcoming and friendly. The owner Stavros is a proper character who loves to laugh and sing. Our stay was enhanced by the gorgeous friendly cats that would come and laze on our sun beds each day. Showers, towels and bag storage area available to use free of charge on your last day. 
Only a 5 minute walk to the main road where there is a regular bus service in to Chania. We loved every minute and will enjoy our Raki thinking of you all. Thank you

Welcoming, friendly hotel

The staff is extremely nice and friendly, it feels like you come to visit your friends.
It is a family run hotel, the area is quiet, which is very important for us, since we don't like the too touristic and overcrowded places. 
Food is delicious, all inclusive service has high quality.

We had our 3rd holiday there, and will come back for sure.

Absolutely recommended

We have been to Maleme for 5 years and always gone self catering as it’s so cheap to eat out and buy your food at local shops but decided on a change as we’d walked past this hotel many times. 
We were greeted by the fabulous Stavros and immediately felt welcome. We were given a lunch box as we’d missed dinner and had a few drinks at the bar with Sasha then off to bed. We had the only front seat facing room they have and it was stunning! The room was huge and spotlessly clean. Beds were sooo comfortable and we always slept well. 

Both pools had plenty of sunbeds with lovely thick mattresses on and never struggled to get one.  

Food was always good and plentiful we never struggled to get something. 

What can I say about the staff other than how amazing they all are and how hard they work. Everywhere was immaculately clean and cleaners were always busy. 

Only a few small things to note, there is no adult only pool which is a shame as it does get a bit noisy and the all inclusive drinks times could be longer but they’re just my opinion.

Amazing from beginning to end

Just come back from a week long break at the Maleme Mare hotel in Crete . 

From the moment we arrived we were looked after by the hotel manager and staff . Because of missing the initial outbound flight we arrived a day later and close to midnight. 
We were greeted with 4 packed lunches in case we needed a bite to eat or drink k . Our eldest was slightly ill with a bug and the staff offered to go out and get medicine to help her feel better . 

Nothing has been too much trouble for the entire staff . From the cooks to the cleaners & the bar staff, they always have time for you. 

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and freshly renovated to a good standard. 
The all inclusive restaurant offered a varied choice of freshly prepared food . 
We were also a stones throw from the beach which is pebble but only a short walk away from sand. We sampled a couple of restaurants nearby which were also very nice 
The pools were just perfect for both adults & kids too. . 

Overall would definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet break. 

Maleme mare hotel

We were at the hotel in late August and early September. We booked the entire trip through a travel agency. We are satisfied with the choice - the food was very good and varied, the room we got was renovated and had a view of the sea and pool, as for cleanliness, the ladies threw away the trash every day, changed towels and sheets, we were also satisfied. Only the floors were quite dirty. The staff was exceptionally nice, friendly and very helpful. The only bear for us was that in the all inclusive some alcohols were from 18:30 to 22:30 which is quite short. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful place- by the very beach where there are very few people. Nearby is a large grocery store, a couple of restaurants, a bus stop and a pharmacy. It is also possible to rent a car (which I personally recommend to do, because the popular places are quite far away). The hotel has two sizable pools around which there are free sunbeds. This is rather a hotel for people who appreciate peace and quiet, because the attractions are very poor - there are no animations, and attractions are only in the evenings three times a week. Also for families with children I would rather not recommend this place. In summary, the vacation was very successful - I recommend this place. 

A very nice place!

Very good but above average prices. A tiny toast, a water, a piece of feta and a mussaka 30 euro... really too much for Greece to eat in two fresh fish with the same money.

The prices are high, but the rest is fine.

Nice hotel with the possibility of taking this bus to the big cities. The rooms are modern clean and the staff very friendly, even for people like me a little isolated because I speak very little English. It's not really an all inclusive because there are hours to observe (for heavy alcohol) but frankly it remains very nice. I just regret the holidaymakers who block the transats around the pool to have their seats and in August it's a little fair. However it's a shame to come to Crete to make the pool that the sea is at... 20 meters away! a shame to pay 5 / day to make the transats when you leave the resort. Holidays and small meals are nice and friendly (especially the guest is very nice and friendly).

Resting stay

The room is really well arranged with very new furniture. The bedding, SDB are top. Close to the pool and various facilities. The staff is really nice and responds to our various requests with a smile. The swimming pools are very nice, there are enough mattresses to rest and enjoy the sun.

Pleasant stay

A small family hotel very well located (62 rooms), the street to cross to go to the beach, two swimming pools, a warm welcome by the manager Stavros. A little isolated it is true, but calmly, some may prefer the seaside like the Spanish Costa Brava with 4 storey hotels, 150 rooms or more glued to each other. We had a very nice apartment, very clean, I don't even understand the remarks of the mini-school, it has to be mistaken about establishment. No animation, that is what we are looking for, I can't have a better 20 years of the Club. As for food, it can't be: I can't even have a nice lunch bar, lunch and dinner without seeing the same patch. So for holidays, I don't really like it, but it's not really about the food, because it's not really a good meal, and it's not really a good meal, so I can't even have a nice lunch break when I'm in the hotel, and it's not a good meal, but I'll have a nice lunch break when I's not having a

All right, but I can do better.

Dirty hotel, spider web all over, cracked flies on the ground, worn and torn sheets When eating, 0 at the hygiene level, you have to put on your blanket and then get rid of it after eating, cats wandering around the restaurant, people in civilian clothes at the restaurant and multi-functional dishes don't make you want to eat.
