Great holiday . Just as I wanted .It was real Greek with great food and cheap Mythos. Clean and comfy room . If you want the Ritz this isn't it ! Traditional Greek family with traditional Greek food , just what I have been seeking . Great company and made very welcome .I was sad to leave . Only down side is that being disabled it was not within easy reach of shops for me

As a family with children, we have made our fourth stop at Michalis during our round-trip tours of Crete in the last 8 years, and we are overwhelmed by the hospitality, the flexibility in fulfilling our wishes and, last but not least, the excellent culinary skills of the host family. The apartments are simple but clean and also completely adequate for a family of five, the pool is loved by our children, the beach is 100m away and is only very quiet by us and the accommodation location is perfect for exploring the west coast, Chania and, and, and...whoever seeks a quiet, simple culinary experience and wants to come out of the cretish guests and truly Michalistic virtues, is the right place to go!

Crete pure

Small family run rooms and taverna. Clean basic rooms, anything you need just ask. Air condition available at small extra cost Wifi in the taverna area.. Maria and Michalis are lovely people, nothing too much trouble. All home cooking done by them both. Look at menu and ask about specials. Not a pizza person but Michalis's home made prawn pizza at lunch time to die for as is Maria's rabbit or goat casserole. Pebble beach just down the lane non touristic and the taverna pool is beautiful and clean. Couldn't fault it. If you want 5 star then go to the big soulless hotels, if you want traditional food and hospitality, peace and tranquillity then this is the place.

Great food

In the last 5 years we have visited many great places on Crete. Michalis' rooms and taverna truly stand out in terms of quietness and quality. The latest visit was with a set of parents in their 70s, who after having a rough year, needed a place to simply rest and reconnect. The still undeveloped stretch of a beautiful pebble beach between Tavronitis and Kolimvari, the easy every day access to it from the rooms and the tranquility, interrupted only by the crickets (what could be better, right?), all contributed to another wonderful vacation for all of us. The kindness that our family received from Maria and Michalis was one that is usually reserved for family members, one that bonds people forever and makes you tear up when you say your good-byes. We are truly thankful to these wonderful and hard-working people for not only making this a good holiday, but an incredible human experience, once again.

One of the best places to stay on Crete

It was my 4th (and I still assert thet the last because I visited everything I had wanted and planned) stay in Crete. I chose the cheapest hotel offered by travel agency but I had checked opinion before of course. We needed hausing base because every day we spent out of the hotel visiting West Crete.
Everything was as expected. Small room with kitchenette and needed equipment, small bathroom with shower. Please rememeber it is 2 stars aparthotel in Greese. You cannot expect luxuries. The aparthotel is located in calm and quiet village. There is no disco clubs, pubs etc. 
The hosts are very nice and helpful. We had a chance to be a witnesses the birthday party of their granddaughter. Thank you very much for piece of cake. It  was delicious. 
Beach - rather empty because of stones and no sand. You need special schoes to get to the sea.  
Maria and Michalis run their restaurant. It's an inconspicuous restaurant off the beaten track, on the way to the beach. In my opinion, the best one in Kamisiana and Rapaniana.
We've tried almost all dishes: moussaka, breaded squid, fresh sea bass, pizza, Greek salad, feta, stuffed vegetables. Everything was home made, yummy and really fantastic. If you are nearby, do not forget to visit this restaurant.

hausing base in Crete

Apartments are very clean, bedding and towels change every three days - you have nowhere else to stay. The family is looking for a relaxed, relaxed vacation. The beach is just a few steps away and quiet. Fam. Michalis is highly recommended, very looking after her guests. We had a very good time and Maria's cooking... delicious... a paradise.

The Paradise of Mary

We arrived by car very late at our villa, just round the corner from Michalis's hotel & restaurant. I had asked him for directions and he spoke perfect English and was very helpful. When I went back to thank him for his help and to ask if he could make us a quick takeaway pizza, he immediately got the raki out, sat me down for a chat and then told me to fetch the family from the villa. He opened up the kitchen,  prepared a table in the restaurant, cooked us a beautiful meal - with stuffed courgette flowers, greek salad, pizzas and garlic bread. He couldn't have been more helpful. Needless to say that was our evening destination for most of our holiday - except for a couple of nights in Chania and Rethymno - both beautiful cities.  Michalis, his wife Maria and their family were the nicest people you could hope to meet. I can't thank them enough - we will go back and use the apartments as well next time round, and I hope to be back for many years to come.

The best people you will ever meet

We absolutely love Michalis Apartments! The accommodations are simple, clean and comfortable and provide you with everything you need for an incredibly relaxing Crete holiday. The pool is beautiful and the beach is just a 1-minute walk away! Michalis Apartments is very family friendly, low-key and incredible value for your money. Michalis himself is an extraordinarily wonderful and funny character, and he and his family will be sure to make you feel right at home. We can't write a review without mentioning his amazing on-site taverna/restaurant that serves AMAZING local Greek cuisine!!! We always eat at least one meal a day there as it is simply some of the best food on the island - all made from scratch, using fresh vegetables and ingredients from their own garden! We have stayed there several times already and can't wait to be back again :-)

The perfect place for a relaxing vacation!

A good traditional table, in a typical shady little setting. Very nice owner who was very good at advising us. In the entrance, the cookies of curry flowers, delicious! then Moussaka or chicken Slouvaki, everything is fresh and cozy... very reasonable addition. To test!!!

Traditional Cretan cuisine made from pasturage

The apartments are quite modern and the outdoor infusions are new and have mosquito nets. However, the cleaning leaves much to be desired. After five days of sleeping we have never cleaned the room, we even had to ask for toilet paper! The outdoor terrace is nice, but unfortunately very dirty! Completely infested with ants and insects of all kinds, which we inevitably found ourselves on the laundry put there to dry! The sheets and towels smell of mold. No soap, not even to wash our hands! The owner is kind and available but he has to improve hygiene a lot.
