Owner came to pick us up / dropped us off with his jeep at the harbor. We had an appartment with 2 rooms but no kitchen while we thought it had a kitchen, as in greece every appartment have a kitchen. The rooms were clean and cosy, we had 3 balconies (one of them had shade for breakfast). Hotel is 3 min walk from other restaurants and shops. 15 min walk to the harbour,  8 min walk to the beach.

Comfortable 

Stayed in a three-bed room as a couple that was like a small apartment with a kitchenette (room 4). The balcony was the selling point. There is a path from the main street to the hotel which was nice. Clean, generally nice. With a few curious things missing (shampoo, dish soap)

Many prior reviews discussed issues with payment. As a result I insisted on paying at check in. The owner insisted on CASH which I paid. I asked for a receipt and he told me he would provide it at checkout. At checkout owner was at the port (wouldn’t have been present to pay) and therefore did not provide a receipt. Then twice on our ferry the owner called me insisting I had not paid. MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECEIPT WHEN YOU PAY AND PAY AT CHECK-IN. The payment issues and disorganization with payment are obviously unsettling if they will then accuse you of not paying

8am my mum knocked the door to pay for the studio first words she was greeted with was shut up people sleeping
Next he told her he would not accept her card for payment only cash
Booking . Com said cash or card 
The male owner got very angry at my mum 77 years of age and threatened her with the police that she refused to pay if she didn’t pay cash
He got his phone to phone them then stopped and said pay it now
My mum rang booking.com they still said he must take card aswell that was the contract
He disagreed shouted at booking.com and again demanded and threatened
My husband stepped in and said enough do not speak to the lady like that get the police if you want as we have not refused to pay
He was so aggressive we got the cash paid and left as we were leaving he called my mum stupid and gave her the finger all the way down the road
Next day my mum received threatening and abusive calls from him she had to block his number 
Stay clear from these studios
Koufonisi is an amazing place don’t let people like this ruin your experience

Avoid stay clear

We booked a double standard from booking but when we arrived at the structure our room was totally different from the pictures and had no shower in it. When we contacted the owner he was really rude and arrogant. He said he didn’t has any other room available ( we booked 2 months ago) and only could do a 20% discount. We accepted just because we arrived late, had one night only and we departed the other day. But if I knew the room hasn’t shower I won’t booked it for sure. Don’t waste your money here unless you aren’t ok to pay 90 euro for a room with old forniture and no shower.
On our check out the owner insulted us e pushed us away. Worst experience ever!

Don’t book the double standard room is a fraud

Apart from the location I can't find anything nice to say about this place. The owner is very rude and arrogant. The building definetely needs a renovation. The rooms are outdated, the beds are extremely unconfortable. Half of the lights in our room were not working. Cleanliness level on average. The cleaner was cleaning while we were sitting in our yard and was sweeping in our feet and hosing down the place while our clothes were at drying at the hangers. The price is too high and not worth the service provided. Also, while we were checking out the owner claimed that he could not accept credit cards as  due to the wind the pos machine was not working 🤣 . Needless to say that no receipt was ever provided for what we paid even though we explicitly requested it.

Not worth the money

The "owner" of the rooms is rude and arrogant, the prices are extremely high for no purpose since the service provided is the lowest. Rooms are not cleaned properly, missing basic accessories like bath soap, water or even toilet paper!

I cannot imagine how no any official authority has taken command, when this guy does not provide receipts and requests from all visitors to pay in cash.

It is a real pity for this beautiful island to have such a low quality person who tries to thieve and gain as much money he can.

Keep away from this guy! The island has various other rooms and places to stay, where people respect you and provide you hospitality.

KEEP AWAY!

We got to Selini studios and there the problem starts: a lady who can't speaks a word of english "welcomed" us bringing us to a room which was already been assigned to another couple, the time to open our luggages and they came and move us to another room in a very rude way. 

The room is like your grandma house, with the same furniture of 1950, everytime you take a shower the bathroom become a swimming pool as the drain is slow, all of this for 100€ per night. 

We choose to stay for the two night only because the entire island were overbooked. 

Dimitri, the owner, promised to find us another accomodation for the last 2 nights of our stay in Koufonissia, he bring us to a bar were they let us leave our bags and sayed that the room would have been ready in one hour, so we trust them and go for a boat trip. 

At our come back the room was not anymore there but "magically" Dimitri has a room for us (maybe a cancellation?), I kindly asked him if we can just leave our luggages to his place and look for another as I feel treated like a pack and he became very aggressive and left me and my girlfriend in the middle of a street saying he has no more rooms available. 

We were lucky to find some others hotel managers who treat people not like moneys but like guests and find us an accomodation for the others 2 nights of our stay in this beautiful island. 

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Treated like a pack

Not sure what was worse, the state of our €200 room or the attitude of the owner. The place was low quality, and dirty. The sort of room you may end up on a very low budget (not that low cleanliness is justified on any budget). It has indeed nice views but we were expecting a bit more that a bed and a balcony... The room looked nice in the pictures and there was nothing else available cause we booked last minute - I guess there was a reason this was still on offer. Having stayed a few days I had a look at other properties and it was so frustrating to discover what beautiful accommodation we could get at even better price. On top of that, the owner was not interested at all (foolishly we had paid the full amount in advance) and plain rude and disrespectful. Shame because everywhere else I’ve been on the island it’s been very welcoming and well looked after.

In brief, Selini is a terrible place to stay on what is otherwise one of the most beautiful holiday locations.

Disappointing

We booked a 2 room apartment for €200 per night for a family of 4 in Aug 2018 expecting at least a reasonable standard considering the price. Instead, the quality of the apartment was comparable to low budget hostel, dirty with not even the basic facilities. Eventually we had to cut our holidays short as it was impossible to enjoy this wonderful island staying at this place (there was no availability anywhere else). It’s a shame that such places can spoil what is otherwise one of the most beautiful and welcoming holiday locations.

Overpriced, Uncomfortable and Dirty

Booked a 3-bed room for four days, but i had to leave on the 3rd day, leaving the other two people. I asked the owner if he was willing to charge for a double room for the remaining nights, and he refused, in a bad speaking language. Obviously, this is the reason his hotel is not fully booked, despite being the high season.
Room was poor, dirty towels,dirty kitchen and accessories, toilet was broken, air condition was approx 20 years old and never serviced, two of the three people got a cold from it.
Location of the room was underground, though he was selling rooms with view at a high price.
Avoid it.
