Room was nice, kept clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful and friendly 

Only negative was that the pool was dirty for the first 5 days of our holiday so had to pay to use a pool elsewhere 

Other than that was a lovely stay

Hotel!

Totally selling itself short, this hotel deserves more stars than advertised!

I had to post this review today after arriving yesterday afternoon, because it is so much more than we expected.

Clean, friendly, peaceful, with modern furnishings and a lovely pool area. Our first visit here for a cheeky week away. We booked independently (seperate hotel and flights), but we bypassed the £25 per person per journey transfer, and hired a car instead for the same price!

Lots of parking at the hotel and even though its on a main road, the traffic levels are low and not much disturbance around the pool during the day.

We booked one of the two premium studio apartments and the room felt like it had just been renovated. Clean, modern and spacious. Missing a safe, a full length mirror and TV - but all can easily be lived without and you can use the hotel safe if you need that facility. Air conditioning was included and the unit is modern, we even have a kettle!  The 2 premium rooms are on the ground floor next to the pool with south facing views into the garden and snack bar, but the patio area has frosted glass for privacy. As the hotel is quiet there are no disturbances from the snack bar at breakfast or lunch and there was no music.

Breakfast was continental and adequate however lunch was lovely. Tuna salad and chicken gyros with 2 glasses of wine only €29. Large portions and restaurant quality (well it is from the kitchen of Popis Garden restaurant!) Everyone working in the snack bar is friendly and helpful (as has every member of staff we have encountered).

I will update my review as necessary but for now, the afternoon sun is calling and my date with a sunbed by the pool, awaits!



Not enough stars!

We stayed and experienced the Rhodes wildfires 🔥 during early in our stay. Clearly this spoiled our holiday but does not reflect on the Hotel or it’s staff being excellent hosts. Spirros the Hotel Manager looked after us with great care during a stressful period as tourists evacuated as required by police. All the Hotel staff I believe are family and they want you to enjoy yourself. It was very hot during our stay which was keeping us pool and beach side. We wanted to explore more but it was just too hot July 2023🥵.Feel very sorry for the local economies affected by the wildfires, but they will recover and be back to giving us great service and that famous Greek hospitality.

LOVELY SMALL QUIET HOTEL. WE HAVE BEEN TO THIS LOVELY HOTEL IN LARDOS 4 TIMES  NOW. PEACEFUL , QUIET , EVERYTHING ON HAND,  SPENT 2 WEEKS HERE AT START OF JULY 23 . BEEN HOME NOW FOR 1 WEEK. CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN .  THANK YOU ALL FOR LOOKING AFTER US, BRIAN AND BARBARA . 

LOVELY HOTEL

Stayed at the Sunshine Hotel in September. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was modern, clean and tidy. 

Two minor points- we stayed on the ground floor facing the rear garden. Every day the sprinklers for the garden soaked the patio and, of course, anything out there (as there wasn’t a barrier between the terrace patio and the garden). There  was nowhere to hang anything to dry and if we did it got soaked. Second point there was only one bin (in the bathroom for use of the toilet paper). A second bin in the main room would have been useful. 

These small points did not detract from our experience of this excellent family run hotel.

Friendly, accommodating hotel with great staff

Just back from our happy place.  Another fabulously relaxing holiday this time we came with our children who were returning after 15 years, partners and grandchildren (11,7,5 and 8 months).  The grandkids loved the pool and everyone wants to come back again. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet - selection of cold meats and cheese, cereal or yogurt.  Lovely meals cooked by Peter, including the ultimate in baklava with homemade pistachio ice cream all agreeing it was the best ever.  Steve making the best cocktails the favourite being Greek Mojito and for me Pornstar martini.  Alex doing a wonderful job in the restaurant ablely assisted by the lovely Georgia. Mustn't forget Spiros who is doing a great job as manager.  We met up with old friends and made new ones.  A wonderful time as usual - roll one next year.

Another fantastic holiday

I am still waiting to get to see my family in Lardos , covid!!. So I have been moving to different hotels and rooms. 
Once again I was on the move and Popi found a short term solution to my problem. I was checked in by a really helpfully called Spiros  who showed me my room and he also explained that I would have to move rooms too in a few days.. when that time came he actually moved my stuff for me and  was so pleasant  in his attitude to everyone  so friendly ... the whole hotel is lovely

A little ray of sunshine

We have been going to The Sunshine Hottel for 28 years. Poppi and Dimitri have 3 sons who were young boys at the time of our first visit in 1994. Now they run the Hotel by each taking a role. Alex waits on tables in the restaurant and through the day at the pool side bar. Steven runs the bar at night and does amazing cocktails, and Peter spends the day preparing and cooking the meals at night. I have to say they are amazing. Then there is Spiro, Poppis nephew who is a great asset. He is very friendly, kind and nothing is too much trouble. Also this year there have been some great updates to the hotel and it's absolutely fantastic what they have done. Can't wait to go back again. We call it our second home. We also yet again this year met some lovely guests to chat to. We like to visit the local supermarkets too as over the years have got to know quite a few owners and they also remember us.

Yearly Summer Holiday

An amazing family run hotel , Spyros the manager cannot do enough for you , Steve at the bar is warm and welcoming and a great host.
The food is second to none with several awards .

If you want a perfectly relaxing holiday and experience you will not find better . Read all the reviews to see I'm right , I would recommend and go back there . You will thank me if you decided to take up my recommendation .

An Amazing hotel run by an amazing family ,

Just returned from a 9 night stay at the Sunshine Hotel in Lardos and it was amazing from start to finish. 

The hotel is immaculately clean, has a quiet pool area and a great onsite restaurant. The beach is only a short walk from the hotel and there is a supermarket next door for everything you need. 

You can tell the owners genuinely care about their guests having an enjoyable stay. We will definitely return :)
