With minimum requirements and an eye for beautiful Cretan interior you will love this place. We had two rooms, both with balconies and kitchen equipment. The beach is 2 minutes walk. Shops, rentals, bus stops, pharmacy, tavernas and even cinema are around the place together with a magnificent mountain view. Some staff speaks German, and owner is a friendly woman. We enjoyed the stay and next time we visit Crete, dinner in their taverna will be a pleasant must do.

Recommend

Positive points: well located, wifi everywhere. Negative points: badly soundproofed bedroom, old bed, separate beds, no TV. Especially avoid half boarding: even entrance: basic salad poorly presented) and even dessert (cream yogurt) all week long! Taxed plate as cheap as possible, with no alternative even if you don't like it. Extra drinks, without any gifts even when consuming every day.

In Europe, it's usually 2 star hotels of the best quality - the first thing they paid attention to was hanging half the shelf, the hostess started explaining that someone was sitting on it, the shelf was not fixed - the drawer was not working - the mixer in the bathroom is falling off - hot water is not in the morning The rest of the photos - Cleaning once every 4 days, also rarely take out garbage from the common corridor, the smell is strong, until you tell the hostess not to take it off - you turn off the tile, cut off the probes - the blanket - the child's car seat - in the bathroom at half a meter, the fireplace is half a meter, there's no wood burning hole, but it's a very dangerous place to get out of it.

It's a very bad hotel.

Awesome family run place in Amoudara - basic, but its simplicity is an advantage, since you’re in Crete (sea and sun - all I need), however- you will find everything you need in your room: AC, and kitchenette. Sea is just around the corner. Artemisia- the Host - is very friendly and awesome lady. Great tavern downstairs - also, by Artemisia family. So, all-in-all - I would definitely recommend Uncle George to everyone! Enjoy!✌🏿

Great place! 

+: 5 minutes walk to the sea, near the bus stop, restaurants, supermarkets, welcoming hosts, large balcony, quiet at night, there are dishes and a small plate -: the items are quite old, a small plate, fully cooked will not work, cleaning once every three days, when you take a shower, pouring the whole floor in the bathroom, from the ventilation in the bathroom constantly falls dust, no soap, shampoo, dishwashers, not one large bed, but two made together.

Modest, perfect location.

We arrived late at the apartments (11.30pm) and were concerned that we would be inconveniencing the staff.  We were greeted by Artemis who insisted that we sat down to enjoy some cake and a drink (free of charge) to welcome us to Crete.  This was the start of a visit that was filled with warmth and laughter.  Kostas and Artemis were such amazing hosts; warm, friendly, nothing too much trouble, always free desert and raki following a meal.  This was a place where you feel at home the second you walk through the door.  The apartment was authentic, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need.  Extremely hot if visiting in August - which was lovely!  There was a level of lively noise around the apartments but happy, musical joyous sounds which added to the ambiance of the visit.  I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who is a little world weary and needs some TLC that only these Greek hosts can provide.  The food is really, really good and plentiful, and tasty - absolutely delicious - definitely recommend you to try the restaurant even if you are not staying there.  This place is humbling;  it makes you remember what life is about - family, neighbours, community, good food and socialising.  It is a truly wonderful place to visit - highly recommended.

Since we had originally planned a modest rest, the pillows were very small and unfilled, we got it... we took a hot tour of 54 sq. ft. for 2 full 14 days including accommodation, insurance, flight, transfer.. About the room: ordinary rooms, very modest, newly painted, light, old furniture, beds with no shrinkage, beds with not bad mattresses, pillows very small and unfilled (maybe we got these), bedding for 2 full 14 days including accommodation, insurance, flight, transfer.. Great restaurant. We go there, as always. Because Kostas and Artemis have become friends. As always the cuisine is simple but excellent. I love it.

Third Visit to Crete

The front is gorgeous but the interior is a little less. The shower is tiny and the water comes out a lot, in a shower the bathroom was flooded. The faucet is rusted. The air conditioning is in the room and is too weak to cool down to the living room, it was over 30 degrees in the living room, which is the most disturbing thing to sleep in such heat! The mattresses were dirty, the pillows were good to throw away. The apartment was at our entrance there were no bulbs, many cracks giving the impression that at all times the walls were falling down. These flaws explain the attractive prices with the proximity to the beach.

You'll find better elsewhere

The hotel was chosen on a hot cheap ticket!Yes, at such a price we understood the quality of the hotel in general, but we were still surprised!This is the worst hotel we have been to in Greece (in Greece there were already 5 hotels)... Minus: The hotel is bad: the repair has been done since Zeus' time! The tile is falling off, the plaster is falling off, the lights are falling off and the lights are being unveiled!
