I stayed here for 4 days and for the price I think it’s fair I paid £125 for 4 days I booked this last minute.

In the studio apartment you get a cooker, fridge, storage space, tv and items so you can cook if you want to personally this wasn’t bad for 4 days if your staying a few days and you want to budget it’s perfect you can buy your own food.

The host was very helpful she made sure I was comfortable I had travel she got me a bike so I could get around which will cost you 50/60 euro’s depending on your stay I was able to have late check out for a fee. Air conditioning is available for 5 euros a day. 

The sheets were changed daily which was nice and helpful. 

They have food available on the premises but if you want to cook your own food the supermarket is 700m away called ‘Mini Market’ where you can buy your groceries or they have a shop on the main road which is 2 minute walk turn left outside the gate and cross the field or you can just Google it.

Roughly you’ll probably be spending €100 a day or more maybe I would recommend if your staying a few days nice pool, the main city centre is a 8 min cycle or if you a car quicker

Fair Price For 4 Days

The complex at Dolce Vita was really lovely, and the fact that there were only 12 studios/apartments was a bonus for us. The studios themselves needed some TLC, but were very clean. The housekeeper was supposed to clean every day, however on a couple of occasions she missed our room. This was brought to the owner's attention on the second occasion. She (Zoe) apologised profusely and stated that the housekeeper was still new in her role. The sheets and towels were replaced every 3rd day which was nice, and there were spare pillows and blankets available.

Kitchen facilities were very basic, only 2 electric rings to cook with.  Personally, a toaster or similar, may have been useful. Simple meals were available at the Pool Bar, which were excellent and not too expensive. Air conditioning was available at around 5 euro's per day. 

Kalamaki town/village was about 1.5 km away with numerous bars, shops, medical centre's etc. Plus the beach, great but very popular, though beware sunbeds were 20 euro's per day for two, whereas sunbeds at the Dolce Vita were free and generally there were enough to go round.  

The location was ideal for us, but beware - the quality of the road was pretty poor plus it wasn't easy to find. There were a few Supermarkets nearby (walking distance) for basic supplies including water, etc. However there was also a Lidl nearby - about 2 km away, which was much cheaper, and probably worth the taxi fare if you don't have a car.

Overall, a fabulous place to stay, reasonably priced and a beautiful location. Well worth a visit

A Little Gem!

These apartments are very basic but clean ,would have been nice to have a toaster  but there’s a bakery a 2 minute walk away selling fresh  bread and cakes . The best part of this complex is the quiet peaceful location and friendly family that run it . Make sure you have a torch for coming back at night as there’s a little bit leading to the hotel that has no lights

Relaxing ,peaceful holiday ,with no Sun bed wars

I would definitely recommend this place ,it is in very quiet location but everything about it is lovely ,it's like having your own villa ,staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them

Great place to stay 

From start to finish it was a lovely peaceful holiday.  Some days we had the pool to ourselves.The views from our top room were breathtaking, with views of the mountains and the sea.  The rooms are basic but that didn’t bother us as they were clean and well maintained. Zoe the owner was fantastic, knowledgeable of the trips, booked us Taxis and can get you a hire car if needed.
Dimitra was a lovely lady that worked in the bar and couldn’t do enough for you, and made our stay special.

All in all a very happy much needed idyllic stay.  We would definitely go back.

Fab peaceful holiday 

We really enjoyed staying at the Dolce Vita. Would happily stay again. 

It is a VERY quiet & small hotel located out of the way,  with 8 double rooms & 4 family size rooms over 4 floors. We requested a ground floor room on booking & it was allocated. Didn’t see a lift to the floors. 

Everywhere clean & tidy at all times.
Staff always very welcoming, helpful & friendly.

This hotel is NOT in Kalimaki,  it is a good 20-25 min walk each way in to town where all the shops/restaurants are & no paths.  A taxi is €8 each way … if you can get one!!

I would rate the hotel a solid 2 stars/possibly 3. 

Pool area & gardens very well maintained. Cleaned down every morning.

They have a small menu for snacks/meals but don’t think you could eat there twice a day for a week without quickly running out of options. 
There is no indoor restaurant though,  food is ordered from a hatch & served outside on the decked terrace under umbrellas by the pool.
Food was lovely, well presented & generous. Prices average for Zante (about €10-€15 per main meal)

Most the time we had the pool all to ourselves as other guests were out & about. There are ample umbrellas & sun loungers by the pool, but no cushions which made them uncomfortable after a while.

Dolce vita is advertised as self catering apartments and this is where it lets itself down slightly.  In the double room we had was a fridge and 2 electric rings to cook on,  not even a toaster!  There was just one sauce pan, one frying pan, 2 plates, 2 bowls 3 mugs & 4 glasses & a few utensils/cutlery.  It would be difficult to prepare & cook proper meals.

Room clean & tidy. It was cleaned & beds made daily, towels changed every 4th day.

No hairdryer in room, however there may had been on you could borrow from reception, I never asked.

The shower is over what looks like a Belfast sink.  It was over a bath with a stepped seat, 2 foot by 2 foot square.  Not easy to shower in at all,  no shower curtain so water went EVERYWHERE but although floor had a small drain, room not designed as a wet room. No bathroom shelves or storage, all toiletries had to be left on edge of sink/bath so all toiletries got wet being in the shower splash zone.

As with all of Greece, ALL toilet paper goes in a bin next to the toilet & not flushed - takes some getting used to! Bin emptied daily. 

Air conditioning is in the room but not free. It is charged at €5 per day. 

There is a reasonably priced, well stocked mini supermarket just a 3 minute walk away.  Essential for the amount of bottled water you’ll use.

We would stay there again & would recommend,  it’s perfect if you want a quiet holiday and as I said, staff are all lovely & nothing is too much trouble. 
I would add that if you have limited mobility this is NOT the hotel for you if you can’t walk the 25 mins to the nearest bars/restaurants. You WOULD need to hire a car as we couldn’t always get a taxi either to or from ‘the strip’

Dolce Vita Residence - lovely stay!

The apartment was old and dated. In need of a update. Fridge very noisy. On the plus side lovely views from are room. Pool very clean and always sunbeds available. Pool bar too small and not much choice and a bit pricey. Supermarket close by. Bit of a walk to beach. But over all a lovely relaxing break .

Holiday September 2022

Fabulous holiday - we’ve just returned from 11 nights here and cannot recommend it highly enough! Had a 2 bed apartment which was spacious & clean. Wasn’t very busy so majority of time had pool to ourselves. The staff were lovely & extremely helpful they sorted out a hire car & a boat trip for us. Only slight downside is location it’s about a 20 min walk into Kalamaki or €8 by taxi. But otherwise was perfect!

Fabulous holiday

Dolce Vita residence is 2km from the nearest beach. There is no free daily bus shuttle service from the hotel to the beach. I never saw any busses, it is only taxi's most of the time, some of them overcharging and driving like maniacs. 

Being situated next to a rural area means you cannot sleep there unless you have proper mosquito repellent otherwise you will be punctured by the mosquitos relentlessly. 

The fridge freezer is so old that the door would not close, I placed water in the freezer and after 3 days it was still not frozen. 

The furniture and especially the mirror in the bathroom is too old to be in use, it is stained with spots. 

There were no shower gel,shampoo or washing up liquid supplied, this is no more than a two star accommodation. 

It is situated 8 minutes drive from the airport, so you see and hear flights coming and going all day. The quad bike racing late at night add to the noise. 

The Reception is not fluent to converse in English. 

The locals have only one thing in mind and that it to grab every Euro out of your pocket, apart from that they do not care. They are definately playing the Covid19 and Brexit card on us, overcharging and serving with a bad attitude.

Old and dated

These apartments are less than a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport (13 euros). The small complex of 8 studio apartments and 4 family apartments, are set in a quiet and gated grounds, the pool area and garden are beautifully kept, they are maintained every day.  The apartments themselves are basic, but adequate.  We didn’t cook in the apartment as we ate out most evenings, but did make simple breakfast and lunches.  The room was very clean with daily cleaning and changing of towels and sheets every fourth day.  The pool area was never crowded, plenty of sun beds and not on top of each other.  There is a small cabin/reception area were you could buy drinks, snacks, and meals. (Small menu).

Kalamaki strip was about 15/20 min walk along the main road, being in Greece there are no pavements, so had to be aware of the vehicles driving past, at night the road it not lit, so a torch would be handy, especially to access the apartments from the road, you have to follow a dirt track across a small field.

Kalamaki has plenty of restaurants, we visited about 10 different ones over our 2 Week holiday, we felt they were very much of a similar standard, with the cost of our meals being between 29 euro which was the cheapest to 40 being the dearest (we had 2 starters to 2 main meals and drinks). 

There is a supermarket very near the apartment, across the field on the main road and also a bakery about 200 yards further along, with seating outside, we enjoyed coffee and croissants for breakfast.
