Some hotels have this hard to define ‘magic’, and this is such hotel. 

It is located at the sea, has a pool but also a beach with a small floating deck to enter the sea in a comfortable way.  Sun beds/towels are available, and you almost have the beach for you alone.

We arrived a bit early, but that was not a problem to check in. The car was parked just outside the hotel (there is sufficient space to park the car), and returned to the car to collect the luggage when we had our room keys. The staff came out of the blue to help us carry the luggage. 

The rooms are a bit basic, but clean, the bed/bathroom/towels/… were all very clean and have a fantastic view on the bay (really wow!). Each room has a small balcony too.

Breakfast is served inside in the morning, and you better be hungry. It starts with orange juice (unfortunately not fresh one), toast (3 pieces for each), pancakes (the real ones!), and some toasts with cheese/ham. You will also get some yoghurt, and tea/coffee.   No worries if you can’t eat it all, you get a small paper back if you like to enjoy the food later on.

We also had dinner one evening, and although the entire hotel is only staffed by one family, they were able to provide all food (4 different dishes) at the same time. If you like to try something local, I can only recommend it. 

The way the staff runs this hotel, in a very efficient manner combined with a commitment and customer first attitude, I can only say: a job well done, and I will for sure return if I plan another vacation in the area. 

Almost forget: you do need a car, and I strongly recommend to visit the Kastania Cave!


Great hotel close with own beach and fantastic staff

This hotel is a well kept secret - but deserves to be better known. The views of the rock of Monemvasia are amazing, the salt water pool ( and the sea swimming pontoon) well maintained, the rooms immaculate and the whole team are incredibly hospitable. It's an easy drive up to the lovely beaches around Kiparissi, south to Elafonissos Island and Neapolis, north to Sparta and Mistra or west to Githyon and the Mani.  There's plenty to explore beyond the town of Monemvasia itself - which is best visited at breakfast where you can sit on roof terrace in the relative cool. 

Wonderful experience, incredible views..

After your visits ,you need to find a peaceful and beautiful place , to be relax at the pool or on the terrace with a wonderful view on the sea and the Castro  ...it s Annema hotel ...

The family owned Hotel and restaurant has a terrific view and perfect location at Monemvasia Bay.
The owners family is taking care of you as if you are one of theirs.
Rooms and facilities are great, food and breakfast has a top quality.

You can't beat Annema at the bay of Monemvasia 

This is a really nice hotel with an exceptional view and superp service from the whole family. You feel welcome from the arrival until departure. The breakfast is really good and you get a perfect start of the day. Swimming and snorkling give you the chance of seeing turtles if you are lucky.

Best hotel and best value for money

We stayed for five nights at this wonderful and tranquil location.  The hotel veranda overlooking the bay boasts a great view of Monvemvasia and the sea is ideal for swimming.  Owners were very friendly and polite and always willing to give us good advice on places to visit in the area. The service was good and the hotel was immaculately clean.  I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who is seeking a quiet and beautiful location and who wants to enjoy a truly authentic holiday break in this beautiful part of Greece!

A small paradise on earth

We enjoyed 2 nights while visiting the Lakonia. The manager gave us plenty of advice of sites and beaches to visit and borrowed us a sun umbrella and due to covid we had an excellent price for the night. Breakfast was joyful with eggs, crepes, yogurt, bacon and cheese toasts, more than enough to start the day. We dived into the sea at sunrise from the private access... perfect location with the family at your service. Beds are very comfortable. Much better than hotels closer to Monemvasia.

Lovely view , perfect service

We returned to the Annema after a 3 year break, due to us holidaying not in Greece. It is still a great place: super location, superb views across the bay to Monemvasia, beautiful swimming, Nikos, Adonis and their parents are very welcoming, the food is delicous and still about the best in the area, there is a good wine selection and the rooms/bathrooms are simple but spotless, all you want for a Peloponnesian warm weather stay. We met lots of returning guests. A French couple wrote in the guest book "Un petit coin de paradis".  We agree and would recommend unhesitatingly. To have a drink or meal on the terrace after a swim is an incomparable experience.

Still fantastic

This hotel is a little off the beaten track but it is worth travelling to. Its a lovely quiet location with views over the bay. They have a little pontoon out into the sea so you can go for a swim. The rooms are clean and functional with a little balcony overlooking the sea. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced tasty food in the restaurant. 

Great location on the sea

Everything was wonderful: the idyllic location, the welcoming and professional staff, the fantastic facilities (pool with seawater that looks upon the sea and a beautiful private beach with a dock to jump off) and the food! Reasonable prices for the brilliant quality of the food (the breakfast was also worth it). My family and I had such a great time and we truly cannot wait to come back.
