THe room was large and very comfortable with a seperate sitting area.

We absolutely loved our time there. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful, and the service was great from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect, the room was spotless and cozy, and we especially loved the sea view from the balcony. We'll definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The moment we walked into our beautiful room on the ground floor, we felt at home!  The hostess is very kind and took the time to make sure we understood how to manage the lights and hot water switches. The location is excellent - right on the edge of a small green space next to the fortress wall, overlooking the sea. We only wish we could have spent more time in there to enjoy our room!

Very unique experience. The hotel and town and castle were very enjoyable.

What a lovely experience our stay here was. We received a warm welcome, and the rooms were so inviting and comfortable. Plus, the historical setting couldn't be beat! We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in lovely Monemvasia.

A unique experience in a traditional guesthouse. Good host. There are lots of stairs around the property which adds to the charm in a very unique location. A level of fitness is required and don't take too much luggage!

This property was so unique. The host was very responsive and took really good care of us. Luggage has to be portered in and they came right away and upon check out they were very fast. The room was comfortable and in a beautiful location.

I absolutely loved this property. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations on what to do in the area. She even shared the fascinating story behind the property we had booked, which made our stay feel even more special. The place itself was spotless, beautifully furnished, and managed to preserve its traditional charm while offering a truly comfortable and memorable experience. When I return to Monemvasia, I’ll definitely be booking Ardamis again!

We felt like we were walking back in time when we stepped into this lovely room in the castle walls of Monemvasia.  It looked like a genuine castle room with stone arches, various levels, and even a  peek into the original cistern!  It is very close to the entrance so only about a five minute walk from the gate with luggage.  I recommend packing just a small bag to carry on your shoulder.  Steep steps are challenging with roller bags and parking was quite a walk away.  But so worth it!  Restaurants are wonderful, as is the hike up to the castle ruins and all the gift shops.  Such a fun experience!

Our Favorite!

We have just had a lovely 2 night stay at Ardamis.  Monemvasia is an incredible place and we felt privileged to stay within the castle.  It is particularly beautiful at night and first thing in the morning before it gets too crowded.  We chose the suite with the ancient well within it.  Our room was quirky, very spacious and clean and it was an unforgettable experience to stay here. Our host was warm, friendly and helpful and we enjoyed chatting to her.
Some helpful hints if you are considering staying here - Monemvasia streets are narrow and cobbled with lots of steps and steep and slippery in places, so you will need flat, rubber-soled footwear.  For the same reason, it's not easy to move luggage around within the castle walls, so pack lightly if you can.  Parking is outside of the castle walls and it's pot luck how close you manage to park.

Unforgettable

This property has a great location right within the castle walls.  There are several villas on the property.  The villa we had was 2 stories with the bedroom and a nice balcony overlooking the sea upstairs and then a sitting area and bathroom downstairs.  Everything was clean and well maintained.
When we arrived, they arranged a porter to bring us to the property and carry our bags. The property manager showed us where we could access the sea for a swim which was a short walk from the property.  We did not expect that we could swim from where we were at the castle and it was a pleasant surprise on a hot day.
The location was perfect for viewing the castle early in the morning before the crowds and heat arrived.  We woke up early to see the sunrise on our balcony and then walked up to the castle and had the castle practically to ourselves.
Definitely a great place to stay in Monemvasia!

Perfect Stay in the Castle Walls

On an unbelievably hot day of in excess of 40 degrees we were fortunate enough to park close to the fortified entrance to Monemvasia. Ardamis is less than 100yds from the entrance so not fat over the cobblestones to our room. Greeted by our lovely host either chilled water we were shown to our apartment. On two levels with a balcony and sea views.
Traditionally decorated with some lovely pieces and yes aircon which was a life saver on this day.
We loved it and could explore the town to our hearts content as the town really comes alive after dark.
Will stay again for sure.

Superb

Lovely and interesting accommodation.  This is "inside the walls", in what is referred to as Montemvasia Castle, which is a wonderful medieval fortress town.  No cars past the entrance gate and cobblestone streets.  So charming.  The guest house was just what I would think of as "a block" away from the entrance to the castle, reached by walking from the entrance, downhill.

We had a two-level room, which we understand was typical when houses in Montemvasia were built.  We entered from the street to a lovely courtyard, where you could sit out (although it was shared with at least one other room).  Our room was on the left.  I don’t think they were numbered or named, which was a first for me!)  There was a comfortable living area downstairs, which included the closet and a small buffet piece with cups, plates, silver, a small refrigerator with bottled water, instant coffee and tea bags.  The bathroom was also downstairs, and was quite large and modern.  A hair dryer was provided

The bedroom was upstairs.  Slightly steep stairs up (it is in a medieval house) but manageable.  The bedroom was enormous.  Three large windows which could be opened.  The bed was pretty close to the stairs.  I would have moved it to the other side of the room and left the “living/office” area closer to the stairs, although the windows did limit options for where to put the bed.  Past the bed was a huge desk (like you might see in an office).

The owner with whom my husband had been dealing was taken seriously ill right before we arrived (we pray for a speedy and complete recovery) but his daughter let us into the unit and was so nice, and they did not miss a step.  We requested and got instructions on good places to try for meals.  Lovely family business.

Air conditioning, like most places we’ve stayed, was provided by a separate unit, which worked well, and the temperature was perfectly comfortable.  Plenty of outlets, and plenty of lights.  Nice towels.  I would definitely stay here again.

Charming Accommodation in Lovely Montemvasia

Our two night stay was delightful with such an interesting multilevel room inside the castle. We met the owners who were helpful in all ways. Upon arrival, we called and Vespina arranged for a porter to meet us at the gate and transfer our luggage to the room. Everything about our room was wonderful, a super comfortable bed and a wonderful sitting room with terrace and seaside view. We definitely recommend this lovely family hotel and we will look forward to staying here again in the future.

Relaxing and wonderful experience!

Nestled right within the old walls and easily accessible to the public parking and shops and restaurants, you couldn't find a more convenient spot in the old town. However, it isn't all about location location location here - the room was amazing. It had a full balcony overlooking the water and a 3-floor loft with cozy living room, kitchenette and SUPER comfy bed. The bathroom facilities were basic, but that's to be expected in a medieval town. The hosts were super-friendly, and the room was totally decked out for Christmas. What an experience!

One of those experiences you'll never forget

We had such a great time at Ardamis.  The place has such unique characterists you could only find in Monemvasia like an 800 year old well in your living room!  The hosts were very nice and made us feel welcome.  They provided us free snacks and drinks in the fridge as well which was a nice touch.  Other fun amenities included lights of all different colors, a back porch for eating/relaxing, and a shower with all the nozzles, bells and whistles.  We would definitely stay here again!

Unique stay with very friendly hosts

First of all, you've chosen this location because you want to stay within the walls of a medieval village carved into a mountain. Parking is along a road outside the walls and if you're lucky you might have a 15 minute walk up a hill with your suitcases. Some people get a taxi to the city gate. We walked for about 25 from the car to the opening in 35 degrees. However, the owners did offer a porter. The hotel was about 15 minutes from the gates for us to carry luggage and 8 minutes for the superhuman porter who took our luggage back to the gate when leaving. See pic of him with trolley. The owners were super welcoming and showed us around this remarkable converted two level apartment. Quite unique. There was a remote for the LED lighting which you would never master but it was fun. An AC unit above the bed was an amazing boon as the atmosphere was humid. It would have benefitted from AC in the upper level. There was no kitchen area which, for many would not be an issue as the small number of close by restaurants were outstanding. There was a kettle and fridge and this suited us. In terms of cost, this was the upper end of what we would pay in Greece and without breakfast, I am not sure this was value for money but .... if you are into experiences ... this is a great surprise. You are sleeping and living in a 6th century AD place! 

A magical experience within the 6th century walls of a medieval village.

We stayed here for two nights on our tour of the Peleponnese and it was delightful.  The rooms are in an old building just inside the fortified town. We had a large mini-suite at the bottom of the steps.  King-size bed with steps down to a large seating area. The front door with a table and chairs outside is on a terrace over-looking the sea-wall (public).  At the back there are also doors onto a shared courtyard. 

The guest house is not currently serving breakfast, but the hostess offer an ordering service from a local patisserie offering delivery of a range of copious and excellent breakfast options.  Also in room tea and coffee-making (filter) for your second cup of coffee.
