The room has an amazing view. However it is really small. The staff is very friendly. There is no breakfast available. It was quiet and also the shops had no music so that one could enjoy the rest. It is difficult to find parking close by, of course.

Small roo with amazing view 

It is located in the historic centre of Monemvasia, in a nice setting. It is parked outside the village and can be reached on foot, going immediately to the dx. Small room but nothing is missing. There is no breakfast, but two steps away there are some cafes.

That's very nice.

We stayed for a couple of days and could not have enjoyed the accommodations better.  Friendly reception, nice clean room, and views that are just beautiful.  Ask for the room with a terrace - nice to sit out and drink a glass of wine.

Love this place

Once I figured out the AC (remote was out of batteries) good room, although in a single it was small versus the bed so I whacked my leg a few times which might be an issue for anyone mobility challenged (granted, the entire town is walled and would probably be an issue). The breakfast set up was in a close ?bar? Which was a little odd but at least that was different and you could get special coffees.  Acceptable wifi.  Rooms with balconies had very impressive views.  If you like wine at all, or snacks, or stories think about going to Byrons wine tasting while you are in the town.

Good spot!

Really enjoyed staying in this very traditional set of rooms for 5 nights in April 2015. We had a bedroom, sitting room, small kitchenette, bathroom and terrace area with table and chairs. Ancient feel to the place, including the low doorways (mind your head!) and wooden front door (which can be difficult to open!) Loved the olde worlde feel and atmosphere and wonderful view from terrace but a few improvements needed for modern living...e.g. Get front door fixed (as previously mentioned) and improve electrics. The electric cables to kettle were exposed, one lamp kept fizzing (until we asked to have it replaced) and the fuse box and fridge sounded so noisy at night that I had to switch everything off to get a good night's sleep. Therefore fridge defrosted and leaked every night. Would be no good at the height of summer. Bed and pillows also very hard. Took me a couple of nights to get used to them. This all sounds a bit negative but we loved Monemvasia so much that we were prepared to put up with the 'quirkiness' of the guesthouse. Would go there again. Pity no breakfast included but lots of lovely places to eat close by.

To get there, you have to carry your suitcase for a good half of the cash streets.

It's very characteristic, but it's hard!

Monemvasia is a very unique place. We liked this little village best during a 6 city tour of Greece in December 13/January 14. Looks as if the place did not change much during the last several hundred years.

We stayed at the suite with sea view at a low season price of 80 euros and we thought it was reasonable. The suite was simple but comfortable with a nice balcony with sea view. After you enter the gate of the fortress you have to ask the location, otherwise the place is hard to find. We were told that the direction signs are not allowed, but we saw many for other hotels later on.

The reason I gave only 3 stars is due to the fact that the place is not kept well. Yes it was clean,but the clock(No battery) and one TV remote(old battery?) did not work. 2 bulbs on the 5 bulb light above in the sitting area were burnt, making reading nearly impossible. There was a lamp only on one side of the bed.

The funnest part of our stay was when the lady in the front office told us that the AC unit in the suite was for cooling only,no heat! Local regulations don't allow it and it does not get much cold anyway(It did get uncomfortably cold). But when we noticed that the front office was being heated by a similar unit, we used the remote in our suite to put the AC into heat position and,guess what, the heat worked just fine!

There is no breakfast but several places on the main street serve it  starting at 8AM. Goulas has a machine at the front office that makes expresso, but it would be nice to have some coffee bags at the suite (There is hot water maker,cups,plates already) so  you do not have to go to the front office early AM to have expresso only.This would help people like us who may want regular (American?) coffee. 

If you have to catch the 5:15 AM bus from Gefyra there is no taxi available. It is about 1km walk, mostly in the dark. Don't do it without a flashlight!

The points that I made can easily be fixed. I believe a 5 star rating would then be justified!

Potential for 5 star

I can't help but praise this accommodation in the magnificent and romantic Monemvassia, the pearl of the Peloponnese. The hotel is just a few steps from the entrance to the village (I absolutely recommend carrying large luggage. If you stay for a night or two it's better to change your backpack and little more since it's all a staircase and with the suitcases it's really hard!) The hotel rooms are almost small apartments with all the comforts, spacious, really romantic features!

Eighth report Quality Price!

The hotel is located at a perfect spot. It is 3 mins far from the entry of the castle and 1 min from the main square. The staff is super kind and helpful. They are really responsive to anything and always very positive. There is free coffee and cake in the reception, which is very nice and practical as you can have a snack while you are getting ready for the day.

We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first one was in the main building and had a stunning view to the sea and many windows. The second room was in the secondary building (which is 3 mins away and further from the main square); the only thing with the second room was that there is no ventilation in the bathroom, a fact that made it quite humid since there was only one window in the room.
Noise isolation is not great, but this is expected if you consider that these buildings were built hundreds years ago and staying there is really giving a time travel feeling, which is amazing.

Great location and view, warm hospitality.

Refurbished house in the old monemvasia with beautiful sea views. The rooms are very simple; the basic decoration. The terrace with sea view is gorgeous but in full sun without umbrella. The noise of passersby is quite large. The comfort is summarised. The breakfast is cheap: cow laughing, bread and sausage under plastic. The hospitality is kind. What is really unsuitable is the price: much, much too expensive compared to the service and equipment. The view is paid for.
