The mattress was broken,the breakfast was poor and the pool area need some cleaning..in general the hotel is in need of some serious TLC because the staff is great,the location is good and the view is amazing!Nice garden,smiling personel..close to the old town of monemvasia..about 20 mins walking distance,and close to a grocery store.

Spectacular view! The private terrace is a perfect extension of the room. The gardens were beautiful and so enjoyable. Just wild enough. The owner and his daughter were so nice with us. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The swimming pool didn't meet our expectations because the water was too cold but we have to understand that it's still not summer.

The place I was looking for!

We chose this hotel with my boyfriend  to spend a romantic weekend based on good reviews we read on the internet. Usually, reviews from fellow travelers are trustworthy and guide us well. This time, we were in for a huge disappointment! I really cannot fathom how can anyone give a good review to this terrible hotel, unless they slept outside in the garden, which indeed is beautiful. Inside the rooms are so worn out, small and in desperate need of refurbishing that they totally ruin the good impression from the hotel's exterior and the good view.
First of all, let's start with the old, squeaking bed which was making such loud noise that would wake you up everytime there was even the slightest movement. Also the mattress was defective and there was a dent in the middle. Both bodies (double bed) were rolling in the middle, our waist being much lower than the rest of the body. My back was aching the next morning due to this awful defective mattress and I had not slept due to the noisy squeaky bed. 
Secondly, the tiny bathroom with the defective toilet: the toilet lid would not stay up. If you sat, you had the toilet lid resting on your back all the time, and if you were standing, you would have to hold it in order to use the toilet. The bathroom door could not open all the way. It was blocked by the shower. In order to go to wash your hands you had to open the door half way, almost climb on the toilet or step inside the shower, close the door and then move to the other side of the tiny bathroom. The shower curtain was dirty and had mould all over it. Disgusting. 
The furniture in the room was very old and worn out. A red leather couch, which was torn in the middle, a lamp which again was torn and not working, a very old small refrigerator that was making loud noises during the night, added to the squeaking of the bed. 
A, there was also a TV. A very very very small and very very very old TV. OK, no one goes to Monemvasia to watch tv, but if you are claiming to provide one, why don't you at least provide equipment made in this century. 
Last but not least, the breakfast was very poor. Just a few slices of ham and cheese, one kind of jam and butter, boiled eggs and one cake with raisins. Nothing was tasty. 
Overall, the word shame came to mind. Shame for the nice location, shame for the view, shame for the romantic weekend that was almost ruined due to the awful hotel, shame for charging 70 EUR per night for this disgrace of a room, with a disgrace of a bed. I would invite the owners to spend a weekend in these rooms they offer and let us know how much they would be willing to pay to sleep on a defective mattress, on a squeaky bed, having to use a toilet with the lid on their back. They think the location and the view is enough. It is not. I am really surprised with the good reviews of other travelers.

Good outside, terrible inside!

The first impression viewing the magnifiscent garden and pool area is that you visit a little part of paradise. But the inside is much less than what expected. Small room with a second in-room level over bathroom where two beds are sitted, having to use a spiral metall ladder, difficult for fat or elderly people to climb up. Bathroom really narrow, with worn out hygiene equipment (Shoer, WC etc), giving the sence of not so clean area. Air condition positioned lower than upstairs-bedroom can not cool that level even if operating all night long. Balcony with a great view over Monemvasia's bay. Very poor breakfast. All inner spaces need immediate restoration - it's a pitty offering so poor quality rooms when at the same time you work hard to keep such a garden. Great pools, (salt water), could be better maintained. Location perfect for all kinds of daily excursions. Visit Elaphonisos, Diros caves, Gerolimenas and Gerakas fiord at any cost! No really nice sand beaches anywhere nearby Monemvasia. Drive 25 minutes to Plytra or Mpozas beach, excellent for children and adulkts, too.

Best outside your room.

Everything is good and what you see from the room is AMAZING: the sea, the rock of Monemvasia, the pool, the garden... This is really one of the best place I have ever been... Also the breakfast is perfect and staff is very helpfull (also before stay, they answer at your email immediately and in a perfect english). This hotel is now in my heart.
I advice to get here by car, because there are not public transportation...
