During our stay in the castle of Monemvasia we passed by Ritsos’ house. The house where the well-known poet lived for a large part of his life and it is fully renovated.Definitely worth to be visited if you happen to find yourself at this beautiful fortress.

The house of a poet

For our own apartment in a centuries-old city complex we paid very reasonable rates for a magical stay. Breakfast is provided by a cafe next door— lots of delicious choices and a lovely shaded patio to enjoy it in. Apartment has a kitchenette and nice bathroom, two AC units that kept us cool, a comfortable bed and windows with plenty of light if we wanted it. Wish we had booked more than two nights! Short path to a rock shelf for easy swimming access. We will be back!

Fairytale Vacation

You can't be in Monemvasia and not stay at Ritsos/ Malvazia hotel. We had the loft for a family of 4 and it was just perfect for out needs: quiet, very clean, everyday they tidy up our room, the breakfast was incredible.  The buffet was delicious and very filling and was included in the really good price.  The breakfast balconies offered a unique view of the sea. Lovely receptionists, lovely personnel, very friendly, very open and dedicated in making our stay an incredible one. We extended our booking for 4 more days because we loved it so much. An ideal place to unwind with a unique magical energy. I'll be staying there every time i visit, absolutely perfect,both people and place.

A fantastic place

We were lucky enough to find this beautiful guest house in Monemvasia just 3 days before our arrival, even though it was a high season.

When we arrived in the castle, the reception was located 100m from the gate.  A really kind lady welcomed us and led us to the room.  

We were more than surprised with both the location and the room itself. The room was for 4 guests, having a double bed and two single beds. 

The whole guest room is made out of stone and has an old fashioned kind of style, making you feel like traveling in another century.

It also had a small kitchen with some basic stuff like an induction stove, a pot, a coffee machine and dishes, etc.

The room was very clean, it offered small bottles of shampoo and shower gel. We also appreciated the quality of both the towels and the sheets.

Also another advantage was that breakfast was included in the price. It was served in a wonderful outdoor space full of trees. The breakfast included lots of homemade jams, fresh fruits, eggs, traditional pies and of course juice and coffee.

We highly recommended and we are looking forward to visiting it again.

A unexpected Diamond!

We stayed at Ritsos guesthouse for one night and we absolutely loved it ! 
The room itself was a combination of traditional stone walls and archs along with modern style and decoration . The bathroom was recently renovated and very bright . 
The breakfast was a huge buffet with plenty of food options ! 
The value for money was good ( we paid 115 euro for 4 persons with breakfast included),if you take into account the fact that you are in the heart of the castle of Monemvasia !
I would definitely go back !

Awesome stay !!

If you want to complicate your life go to sleep at Ritsos. To say it is a very unhospital place: small rooms, quite dirty, full of Cretan carpets vacuum cleaned when Sparta was glorious, undetectable bathrooms. The service is rude and non-existent, it is in a shop downtown, where there is hardly anyone... The path to get there is impervious, not suitable to the needs of people with disabilities. The hotel is not up to its hype. A dirt road with dangers of falling, tiny rooms, lilliputian baths, imperceptible wifi and great rudeness of the reception. The island of Monemvasia is very beautiful but visit it in the springtime, there are not many services, if you arrive by car there is no parking and you need to park very far from the entrance to the city, and every restaurant is full because, actually, the whole town is just two streets and a square. Very beautiful views, but not from this hotel.

Go elsewhere!

Very comfortable and traditionally decorated plain guest house. Movemvasia is very beautiful and Rithos Guest House fits into its surrounding. We can stay there and I recommend to everybody who doesn't care about good wifi, old furniture and not very new shower.                           
                                                                                

Very nice place to stay in Movemvasia 

We had the one bedroom apartment, which, apart from the miniscule bathroom, was quite spacious. We had a large comfy bed with good bedding, a beautiful old wardrobe with large mirror, small living room with fridge, sink, kettle and coffee maker.  No other equipment for self catering. The outdoor sitting area in the courtyard was small, but really nice to have as we did not expect it. WiFi was good. Door was difficult to lock from the inside and the lack of mosquito netting could be a real problem in the summer. A few simple hooks behind doors and on walls would make being there a lot more comfortable. There was nowhere to hang wet towels. 

We had great difficulty finding the apartment as we received no directions and the phone number on the website was incorrect. You are supposed to enquire at the Malvasia office just inside the town gates, but nobody told us this. For the actual apartment, follow the numerous signs for Byron's Wine Tasting. It is right next door.

The cleaning lady was very pleasant and did a good job.
