The place was perfect and quiet. The owners very friendly and helpful. Their recommendations where accurate and to the point. The breakfast absolutely amazing. Everything was home far and delicious. The location provides easy access to nearby known beaches and restaurants. Definitely would go back and recommend it.

Perfect getaway

The place is great, fairytale style, quiet and relaxing. Hosts Makis and Dora are lovely and so helpfull.
Breackfast on the terrase is so delicious!
It is true that there are 100m of a bit rough road when you get to the property, but it is nothing to be scared about, you will get used to it.

Oriades - a great place to stay in the mountains of Pelion

We stayed for 2 days during our summer holidays. The owners were super polite and helpful with great suggestions for our time there. They were also very careful with Covid-19 procedures and made us feel welcome and well cared. Make sure to purchase some homemade jams, you ll love them when served at fabulous breakfast, we took some home!

The short version: a typical example of a tourist business put together by amateurs with a lot of enthusiasm (judging by the reviews here from previous years) and dissipated into idleness and, what's more, annoyance towards any comment concerning the shortcomings of the place. One more tourist business in limbo between faded Greek hospitality and unattainable professionalism. Throughout the years and several visits to Pilion I have unfortunately witnessed various establishments in the area suffering from this sort of skimpiness. 

The long version: Oriades is about 100m uphill from the main road (the last 50m are rough road). Access by car is problematic and if your car has a low mask, watch out at the sudden and sharp angle back- and upwards. 
The surrounding area is green and quiet, but there is no sea view from the ground level. The beaches of Agios Ioannis and Papa Nero are about 20 minutes by car, Mylopotamos and Chorefto over 30 minutes.
We stayed in the detached studio (so-called Villa) which is truly tiny; cute but not comfortable. It comprises of a small living room and a kitchenette with the basics (or less, as there was no kitchen towel and only one small fork and spoon available - owners should check and stock up before new visitors come): a mini fridge, a portable electric cooker and a coffee machine for filter coffee. The bathroom is no more than 1.50mx1.50m. The toiletries shown on the website photos were missing (there was only a shower gel dispenser, but no small soaps, shampoo or conditioner) and the toilet seat was broken (seriously? that's a sanitary hazard! - only for that we subtracted a whole point from average to poor). The sleeping area is a wooden construction over the kitchenette/bathroom to which one has to climb up a steep ladder and crawl on the bed under the roof beam (if the beam could only tell how many heads have banged against it). 
The whole room has one small window, which means that the sleeping area under the roof gets very warm and stuffy and you have to switch on the air-condition during the night even if it's not very hot outside. 
WiFi reception is good but TV reception is volatile to non-existent.
Breakfast is served from 9 to 11, which is late if you are visiting in summer and want to go to the beach as early as possible. There is one egg cooked in a different way every day, two slices of (home-made) bread as well as a slice of ham and cheese and a small butter per person (everything the packed type from the super market; no local produce), two different marmalades plus an extra something daily (cherry tomatoes, pancakes, muffins or cheese pie), accompanied by fresh orange juice and coffee. All in all satisfactory, yet no seconds or refill offered.
Many aspects of neglect were noticeable. The flower pot in front of the studio contained weeds (the plant long dead and not replaced), and the same goes for the light bulb that was flickering in agony the whole time we were there. And even though we pointed it out after the first night, it was not replaced.
We were charged 85 euros per night. After having found out that the huge, wonderful and fully equipped villa next door cost 120 euros per night, and our friends who stayed in a nice room with unobstructed sea view and a rich home-made breakfast in Zagora paid 55 euros, we felt cheated in every respect.

Various drawbacks

we stayed 4 pleasened days at the house. our hosts Makis and Dora surprised us every morning with a diferent fresh and tastful breakfast. all ingredients from their farm. within 20 min drive we explored incredible beaches and beatiful tracks. Makis and Dora were attendive to our needs and suggested every day a path for our tour. we recomend Oriades to family and couples. 

wonderful place and host

This is a beautiful Guest Housel located in Mouresi with a stunning view of the sea and in the woods full of chestnut trees and the birds singing. The yard is peaceful with beautiful flowers and outdoor furniture and the rooms are fantastic and very cozy. We stayed 4 nights with my group and had an amazing time discovering the beauties of Pelio. Amazing beaches, forest and waterfalls throughout the area.  Makis, Dora and Katerina are wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Their homemade breakfast which consisted of eggs from their private farm to homemade bread, jellies and cakes or pies were absolutely delicious. I would recommend Oriades Guest House to everyone that wants to visit this authentic part of Greece. I would rate this place with a 10 star if possible !!

Wonderful stay / Oriades is awesome

Oriades is a wonderful guesthouse!
We are a couple and stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast was delicious (different every day and all ingredients are made by the owners).
Dora and Makis were very helpful and had great advise about good spots in Pelion and great restaurants to eat in.

A wonderful place! Great atmosphere and super friendly hosts

We had a great time in this quiet, and peaceful place.
We planned on staying just for one night and ended up staying 2 nights.
The room was very big, comfortable and clean, with a big bathtub and nice wooden furniture.
The breakfast was splendid, made all by the owners.
