Very caddish staff, don't wanna provide with a fresh towels in the SPA!! Demanding extra 3 euro when you are naked in the pool, night manager doesn't wonna solve any problem - not helpful at all !! Water in pool not clean after previous visitors. 

Very nice lakeside situation but what the site fails to inform guests is that hotel is in a village abandoned by Greeks and habitated by refugees.  On a walk into the village we saw groups of young men just hanging around, pathetic looking barefoot children playing in the street, and a man cooking over an open fire outside a house. The whole place extremely run down and the groups of young men very intimidating. The receptionist told us all locals had left the area and refugees had taken over. But not to worry as the iron gates were closed at night and a guard patrolled the site. Part of our enjoyment of a hotel is to explore surrounding area,.enjoy a drink in local tavernas, this couldn't be done here. Two adjacent hotels abandoned and in ruins the whole area tired and shabby. Such a shame as a beautiful location. Needless to say we hastily left.

Such a shame

Since I was going to school I knew about the thermal baths of Nea Apollonia. I visited them for the first time 2 years ago. The complex is old and is located at the seaside of lake Volvi, 50 km away from Thessaloniki, at the old national road to Kavala. The area is very nice, as the lake is full of birds (ducks, pelicans, cormorans etc) and there is a forest nearby. Although the complex is old, it is renovated and in the hotel "Aristotelis" you can have a nice thermal bath. There is a swimming pool, which I don' t prefer for a thermal bath and there are two Hydro massage baths (one with lake view, which is named the "Blue" one, with a capacity of 4 people; the other one is the "White", with a capacity to 6-8 persons), one small pool for 4 persons, several individual baths and a steam room (it is called "hamam", but not like the turkish ones, as it has only steam and not the hot marble). The decoration of the baths is nice. You can use the above mentioned facilities either alone (in private) or with your company, but not with unknown people (except the big swimming pool). There are also 2 sauna rooms. The baths have a duration of 30 minutes. The water has a temperature of 60 degrees and it is used mixed with cold water. The baths are clean and the staff is friendly. A minus is that the cloak room is the same for men and women... I haven 't stayed in the hotel, which I have heard that is average, but I know that it has low prices and offers. The prices of the baths begin from 6 Euros for an individual simple bath. The Hydro massage for 1 person costs 11 Euros and for 2 persons 15 Euros. You can buy a card for 10 baths at a cost of 50 Euros, so everything you 'll do will cost you 5 Euros, which is very very cheap. The water has very good influence to me and if you have aches and such things you 'll see great improvement. Also if you want to relax, you 'll get it. In the hotel there are 3 people who are doing different kinds of massage with costs starting at 10-15 Euros. My wife had a massage for 45 minutes and paid Mrs. Eugenia 15 Euros! There is a restaurant with good food next to the hotel. If you stay at the hotel, you can make excursions either going to Stavros-Asprovalta to the sea, or up to the mountain, or just walk the area, or visit Thessaloniki. Next to the old complex is an ugly modern complex, which was built about 20 years ago and never worked, a monument of the silly things that were done in Greece... If you stay in Thessaloniki, it 's less than one hour loose driving there and it 's worth the time and money. If you stay in Eastern Thessaloniki, is preferable to go up the mountain through the road of Panorama and before the Hortiatis village go down the road to the village of Agios Vasilios, with breathtainkg views. All in all, I would surely recommend this spa to everyone. It 's also good for a daily excursion.

A good and cheap spa at a nice lake environment

Once it was a Public Thermal resort with different type of accommodation for elderly people who need to have spa treatments with hot springs water, Now there is a hotel with very nice lake view and you can choose among different therapies: hydromassage pool for two with lake view, pool for two or four , single bath or a big indoor pool that, every 6 hours, change completely all the thermal water. We chose the hydromassage for two with lake view and it was a bargain: only 10€ for 20 minutes.
The rooms are simple but clean and very cheap. The view it priceless and relaxing at every hour of the day and evening. There are different kind of birds on the lake and very often they are so near that you can feed them. We tried the restaurant and we were satisfied both for quality and prices. 
During weekends and in summer customers are young couples or families.
Very good value for money.
