I was very troubled before i booked, reading negative reviews and seeing the photos. But the price offer was extremely good. So i took my chances..... 
I was greeted by friendly staff at the Amazones Village. They helped me checking in and nothing was too much trouble. They offered me a welcome drink while they were busy with the passports. They took me down to the annex and i came across to a small but very Cretan little hotel. It was like going back in time... I had an apartment on the second floor with full sea view. Beautiful olive trees on the front, very quiet and peaceful. Room is basic but there is a hairdryer, flat screen tv, safe, a small kitchenette with dining place and a small fridge. I slept so very good and every day my room was clean and tidy. I did not mind the short walk for breakfast and dinner because the little village is so awesome, that it is nice to walk round and about. There is even a small museum close to the villa sun!I knew that I did not book a 5 star suite, so I was pleasantly surprised with what I received. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for! I will return back because I enjoyed the peace of this place.

Value for money

This is what you get if you are put in the “annex” part of the hotel. This review is based on the Annex sun villas. If in the actual hotel it would have been a VERY different review.
 I am extremely disappointed to have been given accommodation on my holiday that is absolutely nothing like the the advertised and photographed accommodation on a last minute holiday website. This “annex sun villas guest” room was appallingly below the advertised 4 star standard. If this “annex” room had been advertised I would NOT have booked this. I am not the first guest to have complained to the hotel Manager about the poor state of this accommodation but he said he couldn’t  move us into the hotel regardless of cost due to managing the rooms around bookings.
It seems people who have booked via a 3rd Party are put in this building. This accommodation is less than 1 star accommodation, in my opinion, extremely poor.
The “annex” is a few minutes walk down very steep streets and is not attached to the hotel by any means. So we have a walk through the steep streets to get our breakfast each day. 
The basic bathroom has a small shower that does not hang from the wall. You have to hold onto the shower spray head whilst you attempt to wash. As a mature person I did  not appreciate having to  kneel on the floor to wash my hair. The bathroom floods when showering. The plastic shower curtain does not fit the cubicle. I am used the towels to mop the floor. There is a high risk of slipping over. 
The kitchenette area is basic with historic hot plate and does not house the toaster or microwave as advertised. One glass and cup per guest is all that the kitchen stocks.   
The beds are small and have a thin mattress that is poor quality, it has a thin sheet covering the bare mattress. This is unhygienic for multiple occupants. I am not want to sleep in this bed.
None of the pictures on the website show this type of accommodation. This is false advertising.
The site also boasts a children’s pool and whirlpool. This is not evident.
George and his staff are pleasant enough. When I complained to George about the shower and not being able to turn it off properly he went and bought new fittings and had it changed on day 3. This at least made showering easier. The housekeeping service improved on day 3 also. With clean towels and the beds remade. Any future bookings will ensure that it is not a Jet 2 Holidays via last minute holiday websites.

Amazones Sun Villas- Annex accommodation very poor standard. NOT as advertised

It was a great stay, in a nice place. The room was nice and always clear. The meals were delicious and variable. The staff was very helpful, kind and professional. The beach about 5-10 minutes by car. I recomend it for everybody.

Relaxing stay

Amazones Sun has to be one of my best found websites. It is in the village of Piskopiano which looks down the hill toward Hersonnisoss and the sea, the views are breathtaking The apartments are very clean, all are one bedroom with two single beds and a living room which has a sofa to sleep a third person, a refrigerator and hotplate. Towels are changed regularly as are sheets and apartments cleaned every other day. The swimming pool has a 24 hour filter and is spotlessly clean with sunbeds and parasols free of charge, there is also a childrens pool at the Amazones Village Suites. A refreshing drink can be taken at the bar or you can sit on the patio in the perfect peace and tranquility. Giorgio will show you the greek way of life with his hospitality and friendliness and make sure your holiday is unforgetable with all the little touches i.e. fresh fruit picked directly from their orchard , and not forgetting Keti's homemade grape marmalade delicious!!!
We arrived as strangers and left as friends , we will most definately be returning to see them all at Amazones Sun. We rented our car from Jiannis and Giorgio will take care of everything for you and the price is very good.

Small friendly hotel - great sea views

This is a great place for experiential travelers. It was exactly what I'd wanted and more. George and his family are excellent hosts. The night we arrived he invited us for a welcome drink while he talked about Piskopiano and its offerings. George is very personable and a great conversationalist. He was happy to make car and excursion arrangements for us. The rooms are studio apartments with a small kitchen. I could see the sea from my bedroom window. We used the decks of the main hotel for sunning. Breakfast options are delicious. This location is in a quieter and more rural area, about a 15 minute walk down to Hersonissos. It is a short walk to the Piskopiano shops and several restaurants. I returned from my trip happier and healthier from the excellent food, sun, and exercise.
