I stayed at Crete Mare probably about 20 total nights between my visits to plakias in 2021 and 2022.  The rooms are very clean, the showers are a little bigger than most in crete and have glass enclosures that prevent the whole bathroom from getting wet.  The option for a queen bed is nice, especially because it’s an actual queen bed and not two doubles stacked next to each other.  The bed was very comfortable.  The service is super friendly.  The location is nice, with a calm beach right in front cause the water is protected by rocks to slow the sometimes wind-blown sea.  The wifi could perhaps be a little stronger.  The view tops everything off though.  Beautiful views from every room, and close enough to hear the ocean at night.  I can’t speak for the breakfast, because I usually didn’t get up early enough for it, but the breakfast next-door at nikos on the rocks serves breakfast all day, and is very good.  One other benefit is that nikos bar (next door) stays open later than most other bars in plakias (if your into that, which I was).  Service at nikos is also excellent.

Beautiful views, comfy beds, better showers than most Crete hotels.

Small hotel at the end of Plakia, comfortable, clean, new and well-maintained rooms, new and comfortable mattresses, excellent buffet breakfast, easy parking in front of the hotel.

Great hotel by the sea.

We left Rethymon early to stay in lovely Plakias and booked in to Creta Mare Hotel.
We were not disappointed as it's a real gem.   Joanna was charming and our room was perfect.  The sea view was gorgeous and the beach just a few steps away.  We only had board only and didn't sample the breakfasts - they certainly looked good though!
Happy to come again any time.

Lovely honest clean great hotel - value for money!

Just returned after a 2 week stay at Creta Mare Hotel, what a fabulous place. Just been completely refurbished, so the current photos in the picture do not do it justice. The room was clean and comfortable and view from balcony is amazing. The hosts could not do enough for you, nothing was too much trouble. Location is a very short walk to main restaurants round harbour and the large sandy beach. The hotel itself looks over a smaller pebble beach with sunbeds etc provided.
Can't praise this place enough - we will definitely be back!

Absolutely Fantastic!

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. Since last year, there's been some changes in its appearance. After the renovation, the rooms have become more spacious by moving the balconies a little forward. The second difference is that the bottom of the balconies has become glazed. On this issue, guests' opinions have been divided - one likes this design, others feel like they're in an aquarium when they're on the balcony. I belong to the first category - I really liked it, and I didn't experience any complexes. Out of the critical drawbacks is the impression that WiFi is doing much worse this year. If you take a job with the Internet - it's almost impossible to get in there sometimes. In general, the hotel has left no less impressive impressions as it did last year. The children's stories and the white children's stories - but it was impossible to hear from the parents and the children's staff, but it was very nice to have a good evening, and it was not possible to hear from the children and the children's families, but it was very nice to have a good evening with the

And breakfast, both sweet and savory, although a little small, also offers outdoor tables. For the rest there is nothing else so necessary to present to those who choose it for vacation. going with the families is really complicated by the lack of organization at the reception chair. We also had paid everything in advance and maybe this was not a wise choice. except for the manager who does not know English the staff is very corny though. The location is also very good. You say from the chaos but to anyone.

A small,but nice hotel. The rooms were clean and there was a balcony with a glass wall so that we could enjoy the view properly. There was a little beach just across the road with complimentary sun beds and umbrellas. Very nice and helpful staff. Would recommend it to my friends and family if they ever go there.

Nice,clean room,beautiful view

First time staying at Creta Mare after many visits to Plakias.
Loved:
- Location. Beachfront, beautiful balcony and view.
- Newly renovated room, great decor and very comfortable bed (We chose king size)
- Cleanliness. It is beautifully kept
- Very friendly people
Could improve
- Refrigerator is far too small, probably the smallest ever we have seen in Plakias. This may seem like a trivial comment but there simply wasn't room for two people's food, water bottles, juice, wine and the ouzo bottle!  Not sure if they are all the same size but the one we had should be replaced.

Loved It but fridge needs to be bigger

We have just returned from 15 nights here and we can't really find fault. It's in a perfect location just outside the main town in a quiet spot,we were able to sleep with the balcony door open and fall asleep to the sound of the waves on the beach. The rooms are cleaned daily and sheets and towels every 3 days.
Good sized rooms ours had a superking bed and aircon,well equipped bathroom with hairdryer and great shower.
We didn't have breakfast but the room has a fridge and two electric rings and very basic equipment. We had yoghurt,local honey and fruit for breakfast and ate out for everything else.

Perfect location

This is our fifth stay at Creta Mare. Georgios has made a few improvements since last year. The balconies have been upgraded and now have glass fronts which look lovely. The wifi has also been upgraded. Joanna and Anna keep the hotel spotlessly clean and look after us very well. The location of this small hotel is just perfect. All rooms have sea view and the Libyan sea is just across the road. The hotel has sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach which are free for guests. We spend some time on this beach and some time walking down to Souda beach which is a 40 minute walk away. This is our exercise for the day!  Plakias is perfect for a relaxing holiday and the Creta Mare is in a beautiful peaceful location where you can even spend the day on the balcony if you wish just looking out to sea and watching the world go by. What is there not to like! We will certainly be back. Thank you Georgios, Joanna and Anna for another lovely stay at your beautiful hotel.
