Decent hotel with a good-sized pool, situated a way away from the centre of Porto Heli, but quiet and very relaxing. The rooms were a bit small but not uncomfortable, very clean (room that we stayed in). As we were on half-board, the evening meals were quite good although a bit tardy on the refilling; the hotel was pretty full and, as such, was very busy at mealtimes. Staff were friendly and multilingual - quite fluent in French and English. Breakfast was sufficient but I would comment that there was little in the way of variety especially for those with specific dietary requirements. Facilities were abound; from a bouncy castle to mini golf and tennis courts, table tennis and, across the road, the beach with watersport facilities (not part of the hotel). All in all a good spot to relax and unwind, would happily revisit

Enjoying a long weekend with relaxation and enough activities for kids

This year due to Covid 19 things were different. Special organisation was required to maintain social distancing especially at breakfast. This was unfortunatelly not really achieved. The queue in front of the buffet was not keeping the appropriate distance and since the process required a significant amount of time - especially after 9 o'clock - a lot of people had to queue without precaursions. 
For the rest, the hotel is very nicely located, with excellent view and quite decent facilities. Everybody tried to adjust as good possible to the circumstances. Staff was polite and helpfull,

Excellent  hotel, an  example of professionalism  and Greek hospitality , exceptional services and stuff. It was an overall great experience. We had a wonderful time. Congratulations to the hotel's management.

Example of professionalism

1. Sailing
This is written from a sailor's perspective!
Good things:
-a good selection of HP boats in very good condition (they are hardly used). RS100, RS200, RS500, vago, aero.
-a good range of more basic boats (picos, lasers, bahia, venture, RS cat)
-the opportunity to try out foiling
-a great sailing area- half the bay- plenty of room, much better than many sailing areas I have experienced on similar holidays
-very enthusiastic team of beachies
-very good for beginners/ intermediates
-good windsurfing instruction
-we did get some windy days
However:
-not nearly enough single handers for the guests (only 6 lasers of which only 3 had full rigs)
-not enough staff so when lessons were in progress it was hard to get help with rigging the boats. Not all the staff were trained in how to rig the HP boats.
-the kit on the beach was different to what was promised on the website- it was difficult to find out in advance what kit there would be, as the booking team didn't know.
-courses advertised on website (eg more advanced sailing) not actually available as not enough staff.
- foiling only actually available on certain days of the week depending on staff, and also very wind dependent. We were lucky (and it was brilliant) but that was due to chance and a lot of pestering.
-not much available for teens. They could join the adult classes if over 14, but if age 12-13 and competent (so outgrown Youth Squad) there wasn't much on offer. 

2. Hotel
This is not exclusively for the use of Ocean Elements guests and was really busy with other clients, so it was often difficult to get a table for 5 in the evenings as the restaurant was too busy. It was so overcrowded that you could barely get between the tables. In the mornings at breakfast a lot of other clients smoked at their tables so it was quite unpleasant. The swimming pool was also too busy most of the time for us to use it. The whole ambiance of the hotel was far from relaxing.
The road between the hotel and beach is very busy (think A-road) with cars constantly speeding at 30-40 mph. It felt a bit dangerous especially if you were a family with young children.

Some great moments but overall a bit disappointing.

We spent a fantastic week at Nautica Bay in Porto Heli. The sailing and sailing instruction was great, in a lovely location. The watersports equipment was freely availably and the staff very friendly. The hotel rooms were modern and clean, each with their own balcony - and our bed was very comfortable. There's a good-sized pool with a nice bar area, too. We had half board with breakfast and buffet-style dinner includes. The food was nice and there was lots of variety, catering for all types of diets. Our only gripe was that there's no zebra crossing to the road between the hotel and beach.

Fantastic resort for activity holiday

What made this holiday stand out so much was the Ocean Elements staff - our kids were in the youth squad and they absolutely loved it. Arriving with no sailing or windsurfing skills they quickly became competent at both - it was great to see.

They are exhausting sports in the heat of summer but the coaches showed huge flexibility to ensure the kids were enjoying every moment.

As the parents, we loved that all the facilities were also open to us, took no time to rig a sailing boat, grab a kayak or get a paddle board for us - the beach bar was also a great spot from which to watch the kids.

All in all, an absolute winner of a holiday.

A great family holiday

We had a fantastic week at Nautica Bay as part of an Ocean Elements activity holiday. The rooms are divided into raised blocks, more like a motel than a hotel, which gives it a nice, landscaped feel. The beach is literally the other side of the road, and it's a 10 minute walk to the nearest large supermarket. There are good restaurants a 5-minute walk away, and also a mini-mart. Reception sells bottled water for the same sort of price as a supermarket. The pool is large and clean, with a deep end that's 3.3m deep (and a relaxed response to the no diving rule!). There's also a lovely semicircular toddler pool. 

The lunches and evening meals were very good, with a wide selection of hot and cold food and filtered water so you don't have to drink it bottled. The staff were all friendly, and there's a great shop in reception that sells sports gear, clothing, postcards - everything, really. There's also a postbox in Reception. There is mini golf (a bit past its best), tennis, ping-pong, a small playground and a bouncy castle for young children.The bay is great for water sports, and apart from the minor negatives - the long drive to the airport (just under 4 hours) and the breakfasts (a bit cheap e.g. not real cornflakes or real bacon) - it's a fantastic place for a family holiday. FYI apart from the Ocean Elements group, most of the other guests were either Greek or French, which might explain why the food was so good!

Great for an Ocean Elements holiday

Just had week with Ocean elements. Overall, we had a good week, but a few things to highlight. Be Aware Of transfer It’s not 2.5 hrs its closer to 3.5hrs, you have to go over the mountain to the other side. Ocean Elements did not give the flight details out until the day before, I think this is very bad what would happen if your email went down. The hotel staff were really great, food was lovely. It would of been nice if you could of had a coffee after dinner. Pool bar was good, cocktails every night 2 for 1 happy hour lovely. The beach bar served great Frappe. The room was good block 200, standard room which was very comfy, nice bed good size, with fridge.No safe in room, however it all seemed very safe. It did state tea & coffee making but there was none. You could hire beach towels for a small deposit, returned at end and changed them every day if you wanted. We liked all the activities, there was no biking guide which would of been nice. We were given maps which were a little hard to follow at times. All the staff were very helpful and we always got which ever bit of equipment we requested.

Really Nice Hotel Ocean Elements

We were allocated this hotel as part of a package deal with Ocean Elements.

Ocean Elements took over this hotel destination from Neilson Holidays who operated this as a sports / sailing holiday destination.

I will break this review down to 2 reviews in 1 because Ocean Elements don’t have a Trip Advisor yet so will roll together. I am giving this review a 3 out of 5, if I had to review just Ocean Elements, I would give a 4 out of 5 and Nautica Bay hotel a 2 out of 5.

Ocean Elements

They booked out travel and transfer to the hotel which could have gone smoother. The advertised 3 hours transfer was in fact 4.5 hours. There are other options… If you self-package and fly into Athens and for about £160 return get a Taxi transfers you can get a car to take you there and back in just 2 hours or perhaps hire a car? The bad points in using Athens is that it’s an International Airport and very busy so getting out will take more time, whereas Kalamata is a very small airport where you can get out quite quickly. Still there is a time saving to be made and many more options flying from your city to Athens rather than the long haul if you are north of Watford to Gatwick.

Once of the coach the staff helped us check in to the hotel and were very good at planning our week at an evening event.

Over the next few days the team attended to our every need, without exception a special mention to Tia, Tasha, Tom (chief instructor), Phoebe, Ruaridh, George and Gwion in no particular favourite order. My son, a Laser sailor went on to try the many selection of boats that Ocean Elements had to offer and had an amazing time!

We had arranged an evening trip to a local island Spetses, day sail and a BBQ night.

Locally from the hotel is the small town of Porto Heli, shops, bars but they close every day die to a Greek law in summer 15:00 – 17:30?? 

Nautica Bay Hotel

The hotel is run by a family, they are very friendly and are as helpful as a hotel can be. 

However…

The breakfast is very basic, the dinner (evening) – only in my opinion, is quite poor also, quality and selection of food each night is very repetitive. If I ever come back to the hotel, I would really consider a self-catering option. The drinks at the bar again in my opinion are a tad overpriced, if they dropped the prices by say 1/3 they would sell twice the quantity of beverages. 

Lots of people use the local shop 100m away to get their own drinks and snacks to save a bit of money.

Would I come back?

Only if I could choose my own flights to the destination, own transfers and booked the hotel self-catering.

All in all not a bad holiday but read all of the review.

Just got back from a week sailing in Porto Heli, this is our third holiday with Ocean Elements and first time to Porto Heli with them. 
Overall, we had a good week, but a few things to highlight.
Be Aware Off
Transfer
It’s not 2.5 hrs its closer to 4hrs, as the kids put it, its quicker to fly from the UK to Greece than it is to get to the hotel from the airport.  We were told 2.5hrs on the coach, when we got past 3hrs it really starts to drag. 
We had to set of a 0600 in the morning to get the return flight, so had to get up a 0500 for breakfast

Accommodation 
The rooms where nice and airy, we very good beds, we had book months in advance and had the “executive room upgrade”, all sounds good however if you’re in block 900 like we were, it’s a 10 minute walk to the beach and it’s a steep up hill walk back from the beach to your room. You end up bring everything down with you and leaving it at the pool, so you do this journey as few times as possible. When we checked in, they took your bags in a pick-up to get to the room, when you check out its that early you are left to your own to move your bags down.    Go onto Google earth and have a look from the sky, you are not in the block that is by the beach, block 900 is right at the back to the right.

Food / Pool
All very pleasant, nothing to mention here, very good

Sailing
Kit, I just don’t understand why OE do not perform any maintenance on the boats over winter.

Pico’s
Very old, cleats missing, very old kickers, a variety of mainsheets, tiller extension held on by tape (Yes it did come off in my hand when sailing) All very old and need updating.
Lasers
Very similar to the Picos

RE Feva
On kit list, one of the boats we wanted to sail, get there, no we don’t have one this year, annoying
RS Areo
A very nice surprise, a great boat to sail but you have to wait and wait to get on it as there is only one
Ventura
Plastic scuppers broken of the back, so on the say sail a lot of time spent bailing out
Sails
This seems to be an area where money is spent, all good.
Rigging
If you know how to sail, best check your own rigging, staff were learning this week, so don’t take for granted the boats will be rigged correctly. 
Highlights
The day sail was great fun, but if you have young children, I wouldn’t recommend it.  We were gone for 6hrs so they will get bored.  You can cycle to the beach / restaurant you sail to in under 20 minutes.
Staff
The normal happy, friendly, laid back OE staff. 

Wind
Really good for people who want to learn / get more confidence.
A couple of periods of stronger wind in the afternoon but overall its more of a development place. 
I really enjoyed the sailing here and it suited the family more than Vas, but I personal prefer the stronger winds at Vas.
Area
Compared to Vas it’s a bit of dump.  They are doing lots of building in the harbour.  There is not a path all the way from the hotel into town, one part you need to walk on the road.
The walk into town is 20 minutes.  Restaurants were mainly closed, Salt and Pepper near the hotel however did very good Greek food. 
It’s a very quiet resort but I wouldn’t describe it as Chic.  

Overall
A good week of sailing, we will be booking for a four-time next year, but due to the transfer time we will go back to Vas.
