Being on the highest point in Pylos the view from our balcony was magnificent. Sunset was spectacular. The upgraded room was spacious and quiet. The meal and breakfast at the sister restaurant were both appetising and enjoyable. 

What a view!

A lovely, clean hotel with a terrace and pool.  But the best thing was the stupendous view of Navarino Bay from the room and balcony.  The breakfast was very good and we ate in the restaurant a couple of times.

Incredible view

Before the Battle of Navarino in 1827 a unified Greek state was just an idea. After the battle, it was a reality. When the gunfire died away the British, French and Russian navies had inflicted a decisive defeat on the Ottomans, and modern Greece emerged in the ensuing years as a truly independent country.

Perched high on a cliff, Hotel Philip overlooks the remarkable beauty of Navarino Bay where yachts and fishing boats have long replaced the warships. The views (from rooms and balconies, the outdoor dining area or the indoor dining room) are exceptional and a source of interest day and night.

Our studio had a separate bedroom and sitting area plus a kitchenette. Breakfast (full service) was generous and both lunch and dinner are available - nearby Pylos offers more dining options though it's a steep walk back up from the town.

The hotel makes a great base to explore the many attractions of the western Peloponnese, though with beaches, boat hire and history ancient and modern on the doorstep there's no need to stray far.

Very friendly staff made us thoroughly at home - this is a very good hotel in a truly outstanding location. We'll be back. 

Overlooking History

I'm staying at the beachfront. A very large bed room with a comfortable mattress. A cool pool. I bathe normally but I'd change the shower box. Good cleaning. Full breakfast with everything.

Good hotel by the sea

We had a great 2 night stay at the Hotel Philip. The owners were very welcoming and provided a very nice and comfortable room with a fantastic view. The balcony was spacious and private. The shower and bed was fine and having a safe was a nice touch..

We had breakfast and lunch there and they were very generous and good.

We were there to play golf on the Costa Navarino courses. They were a short drive away and very beautiful.

There is a great beach a short drive away on the bay. The hotel provided towels which was a nice touch.

Pylos is a cute town which is a short walk down the hill.There are many nice restaurants to chose from. The walk back up the hill looked challenging so we took a cab from town and it was 5 minutes.

There is free parking right across the street from the hotel.

We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to this beautiful part of Greece.

Great hotel Fantastic views.

We stayed for 10 days at this gorgeous clean Greek hotel. Our rooms had large balconies where we could watch the sun set right over the sea in the evening time. Our hosts were relaxed and so accommodating. My husband and son ended up changing dates and arriving 3 days later and Nikos kindly did not charge for additional room. They were always very attentive and ensured all clients needs were met. The breakfast was most generous with sweet savoury and fruit offerings and is included in the price. We took the most stunning photos of Greek sunsets from the hotel and there is a small pool to dip into on the super hot evenings. It is a short walk down hill to the petty port town of Pylos, which we truly enjoyed each evening. This is definitely the best place to stay in Pylos and we will recommend to anyone exploring the beautiful Peloponnese area. Thank you Nikos and family. We hope to return again one day from Ireland

Top class stay at a tranquil hidden gem over looking the blue/green sea

When we booked the hotel Philip we thought the proposed price was marginally higher than our initial expectations. In fact our stay turned out to be much higher than expected. The hotel Philip easily wins from the point of view of the location, in fact it has the best view of the bay of Navarino and from the rooms you can fully enjoy the spectacle of the sunset on the sea. The quality of the interior furnishings is also excellent, as well as the cleanliness and the offer of the interior restaurant.

Great value for money

Hotel Philip is nicely situated at the edge of town (which is still very walkable) with stunning views of the Bay of Navarino.  The breakfast included is excellent.  We had dinner twice in the restaurant - both dinners were delicious, and there is very good house wine.  Our room was spacious and clean, and our room's terrace overlooking the bay was fabulous.  Hosts, especially owner Evangelia, were warm without hovering.
Tips for the traveler:  the hotel reception areas (there are two) may not be staffed as the hotel is not that large.  The restaurant is the place to go to find someone in charge if there is no one at reception.  Do not be intimidated because the hotel is on the main road.  It should not impact your experience in your room or your view as the hotel is quite high above it.

Excellent choice in Pylos - great view, great breakfast

The best opinion. I don't need to be a special person. this hotel with views is beautiful until it rains like today. the pool is ready and I can bathe even if it's cold or raining. i'm from barcelona and i'm coming by motorbike from bmw cmbwe food yet i haven't tasted it. i was in a hurry to thank you for such a good offer.

Fantastically beautiful.

It's a 2-star hotel!!!!At the time of booking I thought it was a bit expensive to be 2-star...mah! Everything here is perfect, from the very neat structure with a beautiful swimming pool to super clean rooms, the only hotel in Greece where we've been refurbished every day, from the comfortable bathroom and with quality products to the restaurant, great for dinner and superb in the morning for breakfast, from the efficiency of the staff to the exquisite discretion of the owners.
