The Vathi Hotel was my favorite place to stay in the 16 days I was in Greece. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean and the mountains. It was beautiful to sit and have coffee in the a.m. and a drink in the p.m.  The beach is only 350 m away. The pool with bar area is a great place to relax. We sat out by the pool, had drinks and played cards one night. Look no further, you won't find a better place to stay.

Great hotel!

We loved our stay at Vathi hotel! The rooms were spotless clean and it seemed that the staff paid very close attention to details as well as COVID regulations.
We were supposed to stay 2 nights but loved it so much that extended our stay!
The staff are all super helpful and always with a smile on their face - eager to help.
The hotel is situated a small walk from the beach which has a family run watersports school, perfect to add some activity to your holidays! 
Definitely a must visit!!

Unexpected Gem!

Very good and clean hotel. Gongratulations to the manager and the employees of the housekeeping for their work. Also the employees of the reception where very helpful. Only negative the same materials in the breakfast. Thank you for our stay.

Value for Money

Pleasant stay in a two-room apartment overlooking the sea: points +: size and cleanliness of the apartment, equipment, view, quality of work of the maintenance and breakfast service staff, geographical situation: points -: poor quality of breakfast products served in an open room on the outside positioned in the middle of a bar in the morning in July, lack of courtesy of the staff holding the bar

A pleasant stay

It's pretty perfect in every way. I can't spot any negative points. Very clean, well maintained, with swimming pool, mosquito bin and air conditioning. Veranda with swimming pool and sea view. All immersed in the most total tranquility.

Total relaxation

Clean rooms, reasonable prices, pool for the kids, great view, breathe taking sunset. Nice breakfast .The nearby beach (about 5 minutes walk) is wonderful,The service was more than polite.
The housekeeping is excellent as you are provided with neatly folded towels placed on the beds as well as room cleaning service.

Great family getaway in Mani

It's a great place for family recreation, for lovers of quality service, warm family atmosphere, clean, always calm, the sea and the possibility of seclusion on the beach. In the hotel itself: cozy, spacious rooms, friendly, always friendly and very responsive staff, amazing views of the sea. Here always greet warm and very homey (like you're coming to visit relatives). Here always want to come back again and again. Thank you all, especially to Alexandre Canelaki and Michalis Manolacos for giving people joy and the opportunity to rest in such a wonderful place. We'll definitely come back here in 2018).

The Best Place to Rest

Situated a few kilometers southwest of the port city of Gytheio you will find this multi-complex of three storey towers that contain 3 units each.   Note that if you are on the second or third floors expect to take a flight of stairs up to your apartment as there are no elevators available. Our unit consisted of a full size kitchen and sitting area as well as a bedroom.  The apartments are fully furnished.  There is a restaurant on the premises as well.  The pebble beach is a 2min walk away but Mavrovouni beach (12 min drive) is your best option if you are looking for a larger, sandy beach.  I would recommend you enter the Mavrovouni beach at ‘Entrance Gamma’ (third entrance of the main road that leads to/from Gytheio). Make sure you sit at the beach chairs across from the Demestoixa (They-may-stee-ha) restaurant.  

Across the street from Vathi hotel is a mini-market with all the amenities and cheap bottled water but it is not open throughout the day at all hours. 

CONS: We were disappointed to find out that there are no phones in the rooms and the wi-fi is extremely weak and intermittent.  This was very frustrating as the hotel advertises wi-fi.  Perhaps they should be mentioning that wi-fi is only available in the lobby like other hotels do.
Even our data plan was ‘hit and miss’ at times leaving us with no connection at all.

PROS: The housekeeping is excellent as you are provided with neatly folded towels placed on the beds as well as room cleaning service.  The rooms are very clean and spacious. The fixtures are also new. Water pressure in the shower was adequate too.  There is a foldable clothes drying rack available at the rear balcony which made drying clothes a breeze.

A beautiful view of the Laconian gulf outweighs the fact that there are several steps leading to the upper level units.

 During our stay, the majority of the guests were families with young children; not bothersome as we have children of our own that stayed with us.

A nice place to stay if you are looking for a beach getaway near Gytheio.

The hotel is made up of two parts, the hotel Vathi proper (the central part that is under the bar and the pool) and the apartments above it, in some houses made of stone from Mani, these latter are called studios Ef Zin. There are three per house, one above the other. The apartments are new, well furnished. We took the one in the middle of the first floor with a nice terrace that overlooked the pool. The pool is a little small but at least the water temperature is pretty warm.

New apartments - great location for excursions

We've been to Greece five times. We've been to the islands more. But we decided to try the mainland. The hotel welcomed us so warmly that we felt literally at home. The staff are like relatives we haven't seen in a long time and were very bored. The cleanliness in the hotel is even a little manic. But that doesn't really bother us. It's all designed so that parents relax calmly while the kids are actively resting. Literally, until the kids get out of the pool, we're sitting on our balcony, sipping cool wine and watching the kids. And we're also very impressed with the sea - so calm, clean and sweet we've never seen anything like it! Even if you spit in it a couple of chaps (children and goose), we don't recommend it!
