We as a family of 4 including 2 young children spent 10 days at the Elena-Pelagia Villas during July of 2021. The villas are situated about 4-5 car minutes from the nearest beach.

The Elena-Pelagia villas consist of 2 adjacent villas, one named Villa Elena and the other is called Villa Pelagia. We stayed at Villa Pelagia. The villas are family owned.

Since we made the booking from Germany, the  owners coordinated through a German-speaking person, which we found to be very thoughtful. During the booking process, we were also given a range of car rental options, which were much cheaper than a booking online through the websites of the standard operators like Avis. A placard pick-up at the airport Iraklio was also organised for us. The hosts, who speak perfect english, were kind enough to agree to an early check-in to accomodate for our flight. 

Upon arrival (1 hour drive from Iraklio airport) we found an air-conditioned villa with a large driveway and a wonderfully maintained garden. The rooms and bathroom were clean and comfortable as well, with enough towels and bed linen. We very much appreciated the free Wifi as well.

The pool was in pristine condition with a large pavilion and sunbeds,including pool / beach towels. We spent a large portion of our time in the villa at the pool.

The kitchen was fully equipped with a 4-plate stove, fridge, microwave oven, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and lots of plates, pots,pans and cutlery. We did not miss anything during our stay. The fridge and shelves were in fact pre-stocked with milk, juice, bread, butter, jam, fruits, coffee and tea to last us a day. There was also an outdoor stone barbecue grill, which we did not try out.

The most impressive feature during our stay was the warmth and friendliness shown by the hosts towards us. They helped out with all kinds of local information and even organised a trip to their animal farm, which our children were excited about. The hosts also cooked a meal for us, as well as baking a birthday cake for us. We also got to share our on quite a few occassions about culture, language and so on. It was also impressive to know that the hosts personally care for the villa, be it cleaning, washing or maintenance. 

All in all, it was an excellent and memorable place to stay.

The villa is idéal for 4 persons, several outside usefull and comfortable accommodations. 

Gardens perfectly flowered and a little place just for the kids in a secured area.

What else !? ;)

A 15 days dream !! 

We had a great time staying in the Elena Villa. The host (Pelagia) was exceptionally friendly and helpful in where to go, what to see and what to do. We couldn't have asked for a better trip and place to stay.

Great Host and Lovely Spot

The villa is well placed to explore the central section of Crete and within 70 minutes of Heraklion airport and 100 minutes of Chania airport. The villa is very well equipped for four people, spacious and clean (with bed linen and bath towels [but not pool towels] changed mid-week. We accepted Elena's very kind offer of a Cretan meal which was delicious (and no extra cost). The welcome package of groceries and wine that greeted us on our arrival was much appreciated. I suggest reading the visitors' book soon after arrival to get a sense of where to visit, eat, etc. Maybe more could be done to detail the various places worth visiting, eating, etc. and some proper shade provided around the pool would also have been welcome. Other than these two minor points, I thoroughly recommend Villa Pelagia as very good value for money.

Villa Pelagia

We really enjoyed our stay at Elena & Pelagia villas. When we arrived we saw there were already some groceries done for us. Fresh fruit,  bread, butter, marmalade, bottle of water and even wine and raki. It really felt like a warm welcome.  
As the coffee machine wasn't working properly, Pelagia brought us a new one the same day.  On cleaning days Elena brought  us real Cretan homemade dishes, which really were delicious. We really appreciated it. 
The villa is situated on a hill from which you have a great view. It's a nice and quiet place with lots of privacy. 

We really loved our stay and hope to come back one day. Elena and Pelagia, thank you so much for your great service and hospitality!

Great hospitality

I had spent 3 weeks in Villa Elena. A very lovely and quiet place to relax-I love it ! 
Some palm trees near the pool :thats holiday ! In the villa you will find all you need-and more  :)
A very friendly welcome with some fruits,cool drinks and bread in fridge-after your (long?) flight you can relax directly ! Elena make the best french fries... :)
To explore the locations around you will need a car.
And if you have any questions or problems:dont worry to ask the owner_they will do everything they can-and sometimes more !!
