We are currently on a road trip in Crete and made an unplanned trip to Agia Galini to escape the wind and rain on the north west coast. 

Booked Iro Hotel on the day without doing any prior research, and am pleased to say we are thoroughly delighted with this hotel! 

From the very friendly welcome from the owners, amazingly comfortable bed (not too hard like many other places we’ve stayed), proper enclosed shower, fridge, kettle, and best of all, the wonderful view of the harbour from the balcony, we cannot fault a thing! I must also  mention the internet is fast, and the centre of the village is just a 5 minute walk down a fairly steep path. 

All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay at Iro Hotel, which was great value for money. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends!

Best hotel so far!

Kind reception at arrival. Kind advice. Great room and balcony. Great breakfast. At the internet Iro Hotel looks good. It was even better. The city was that small, as well as the hotel with 17 rooms, that it can´t take big groups.

Perfect

We loved the balcony and the bathroom is very nice, recently refurbished by the look of it but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and the kitchen also needs updating. Not bad for the one night we were there but we couldn't have slept on the bed for any longer. It was also quite noisy with other guests and the noise of the fridge so we didn't sleep much at all. 

Amazing view but an uncomfortable stay

Nice family hotel with very good service. Very fresh bathrooms, but little old style on the furniture. The view is stunning, the hotel are high up on the hill and below the hotel you have Libyan sea. No pool, but lucky us, the neighbour hotel have one and if we buy something in their bar it was OK to use it.

Several tavernas and bars in the small port. Try the village fish dishes, we ate barracuda and shark there, lovely.

Lovely family hotel

We stayed here for one night during our tour of the south of crete. Agia Galini is a lovely place with quaint winding streets down to the harbour area with tavernas and shops. 
The Iro hotel was high on a hill which could be a problem for anyone with walking difficulties. We struggled to find a parking place but did manage near the hotel. The hotel is older style and quite dated inside but it was clean and the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was one level down from reception and felt gloomy until we opened the balcony door. The views down to the harbour across rooftops was lovely. We had two single beds and a fridge. The shower room was also very dated and small. This was no problem for a night or two but I personally would not want to stay for longer. 
Breakfast as mentioned was very basic but adequate and we did not pay very much for the night so overall it was good value for money.
Overall it is a clean older style hotel that is good value for money with good views high up from the harbour.To be honest I probably would not stay here again but that is personal choice.
