This place is heaven. The price you pay for what you get is unreal. A perfect combinatiin between home and luxury hotel. Poppy, our wondeful local host and manager was like a family member. We hiked the Chania trail to vamos, beutiful!!
Highly recomend!! 

Paradise in Crete

This is the second time we've been to this peaceful haven we love: the situation is 10 minutes from the beach The small village of Douliana very typical The house and comfortable and we lack nothing! The staff (popi) is really adorable!

We had a wedding of 80 people booked for Crete in August 2020, majority coming from Australia. 60 of the guests, including us, were booked at Douliana Villas for 1 week at a cost of 17,190 euros, of which 8,595 euros was paid as a deposit. When covid-19 made it impossible for the wedding to proceed as planned we informed Veronica from Douliana Villas ASAP in April 2020 the wedding would have to be postponed to 2021 and the Villas were instantly available for others to rent. Veronica assured us our 8,595 euro deposit was valid for the postponed wedding in 2021. She did keep telling us “it was our choice not to have the wedding in August 2020” – this left us lost for words. Fast forward to January 2021 and Veronica contacts us to advise that our 8,595 euro deposit that was still valid for 2021 is not really valid and explained in incomprehensible logic that only 4297.50 euros was still valid and we had to pay another 4297.50 euros to secure accommodation for our scaled down wedding in 2021.  Referring Veronica to our agreement (which is all in email), discussions went nowhere. She just kept saying it was “our choice not to have the wedding in August 2020. Flights were available” and going on and on about the “special deal” we got and shouldn’t complain. For the record, when we initially booked, she gave a price and we agreed. There was zero negotiation. 
We physically visited Douliana Villas in person twice in one week in September 2019, and my fiancé is a native Greek speaker, and still this is how we were treated. We would not recommend dealing with this business in anyway. There are many other beautiful places to stay in Crete; support the good, honest businesses. We will be taking our business elsewhere for our wedding in 2021.

Do not book  - be warned

We have just spent 10 nights in the douliana villas, spacious and clean, air-conditioned, well equipped, medium-sized bed, mattresses a little hard to our liking, friendly little village, 2 very good restaurants a 2-minute walk away, grocery store nearest vamos, 3 km, everything needed in kalyves 5 km. Very pleasant pool and cleaned morning and evening by a very discreet guard, the same one who accompanied us when we arrived. The only negative point for us, the proximity of our villa with the collective pool and the mini market. Overall very good stay

Very good vacation.

This is the perfect place for a family vacation! Thanks for Poppy and the whole team to make our trip most memorable! The 4 bed + 1 villa we stayed in was fully equipped including washing machine and a complete kitchen. The little mountain village is only 40 min from Chania airport and there are plenty of beaches in driving distance. We would recommend renting a car. 

Family Summer Vacation

My wife and my son and I stayed for a few nights at the Douliana villa! Everything was perfect! The welcome by Poppie and his team at the top!! There is a supermarket in the residence as well as several taverns. A nice walk around the village. Two beautiful Kaliva beach and almyrida beach is 15 minutes away by car. 30 minutes from Chania and Lake Kournas. The swimming pools of all the villas are impeccable and maintained all day. The villas are perfect we will return without hesitation!! Thanks again Flavien!!

This is a perfect stay!

Wonderful place, great for families. Quiet and relaxing, sparkling clean. 
Water pressure in the shower is low, and lots of mosquitoes. Other than these, the villas are truly great and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for the week in off peak season. It was a lovely quiet place with clean pool with clean surrounds. Everything we needed was there. Lovely view from our bedroom 2 restaurants close by and a mini market otherwise there is a couple of villages within a few minutes drive. Would recommend hiring a car and make sure you can drive through tight streets. Really enjoyed our stay here and would come back again. Only negative didn't have much contact with the owner and didn't know they had a pool bar. Definitely come back. 

Nice relaxing retreat

Everything is really right here! The villas are very tastefully decorated! Quiet location yet close to the beach and Zen rooms. Several restaurants that can be reached on foot. The new Heliostasi restaurant is one of the best restaurants on the island! Poppi and Michalis are always approachable and take care of all questions, wishes and give suggestions for excursions, restaurants, etc. In between there is sometimes something delicious to drink regional or a cactus fruit. I would like to come a third time too!

For the second time, very excited!

Unforgettable accommodation and excellent service. The traditional house we stayed was beautiful and very clean. Our pool was quiet, although the beach was 10 minutes away. We ate some delicious omelettes at the "Kafeneion" in the village ... We are looking forward to the next time.
