Superb value for money!! Tried to rebook again 2023 but fully booked. Immaculately clean, small pool, really friendly staff. Not a 5 star hotel but that's not what it purports to be! Showers could be updated as I hate shower curtains ha ha! Although we personally do not like quiz nights or bug sport TVs, it is there for those who do! Friendly bar area and great great great staff! Very close to busy North South ( East Coast) road but noise is not excessive and see the plus points..good cheap, clean regular buses take you up and down the coast. Pedestrian crossings 100 and 150mt away in either direction to walk to the wild unspoilt beach. This is not Faliraki and is not a resort as such....Afantou (real not resort) village is a taxi ride or 25 minute walk . The clue is in the name which means hidden....so it is on the hillside hidden from the sea (and historical plunderers! 
The 4km (?)  long beach is clean and has very clean basic toilets, a beach snack bar, ample free parking. The beach us vast and uncrowded with beautiful pebbly stones (beach shoes make life easy( and, depending where you are...gently or steep shelves..easy to ascertain as water immaculate. Loungers x 2 with parasol and small table 10-12 Euro per day and showers. For more beach life than the central beach walk East along road/beach and there are a few cocktail bars, more permanent structure bar and food, toilets and wide new roads with ample parking. More hotels etc and a couple of excellent fish Restaurants, boat hire etc. The little train from Afantou comes down this way from the village via the hotels etc and then runs along the beach road to the Golf Club end. Cost is 2 €uro per ride hopping on and off but €2 each time 

Nimar Villaggio and Afantou Beach

The hotel is 2 * but has everything thing you need for a good base. There are 28 rooms and beautiful gardens on the approach, with hills and olive groves behind the apartments.

The staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. There is a really decent supermarket 3 minutes away that serves amazing hot food at lunchtime.

We went out everyday to the local town of Aufontuo, 20 minutes walk and to the local beach 20 minutes walk( opposite direction). We also used the bus to get to Lindos, Antony Quinn's Bay, Falaraki and Rhodes City.

The only negative we found is the hotel is situated on a dual carriageway and is surrounded by derelict buildings. The noise of the traffic was overwhelming.  We could not sit by the pool and relax as it was next to a dual carriageway.

The hotel is good for couples that are willing to walk a lot and put a bit of effort into exploring the local area and Island.

You need beach shoes for the vast beautiful pebble beach. Also need to be brave and use the bus. The drivers speak English  and the bus stops all have numbers. There is also a prerecorded announcement before every stop. Cheap and simple to use. The buses run continuously from Rhodes to Lindos and stop everywhere in between. We didn't get lost. Jed will give you the timetable also QR codes at every bus stop.

We had a great holiday that was really good value. If you are mobile and open minded then book it. You will also have a fantastic time.

Practical accomodation close to authentic village

Had our second stay at Nimar this year.Ged, Terry, Billy and the rest of the staff where brilliant. No problems getting sunbeds by the pool and rooms where cleaned daily and towels and bedding changed regularly. Overall a lovely stay.

Relaxed and chilled atmosphere 

What a fantastic 2 weeks stay. Welcome meeting with Ged and Terry was better than any weve had good tips and infomation and no trying to sell us any tripsLovely clean apartment with everything we needed in it. Had read reviews about tiny shower and curtain, easy remedy turn shower on with curtain closed turn shower off open curtain apply body wash close curtain and rinse off don't waste water.  Room cleaned regulary and bedding and towels changed  regularly which Ged explained at welcome meeting. Bar area Lovely and clean food very nice and plentiful. From 1st Sept to 13 Sept never had a problem getting a sun bed no matter what time day.  Supermarket and cafe 5 min walk, 20 min walk to beach for me,lovely sunbeds with deep cushions on near kantina. Always got a sunbed no matter what day. 2 lovely restaurant's 5 min walk away. Afandou 20 min walk away Lovely town plenty of eating places and bars.    Loved Geds Rubbish quiz such a lovely guy everyone friendly and joining in. Thanks to all staff. Terry,Billy,Ged missing your banter and to Dimmi and chef for working hard throughout the day.

Overall, for what we paid, an ok stay.

Some good points:
Beach is a relatively close walk if you’re physically fit and is quite a pleasant walk aside from some areas. The beach is however pebbly and can be somewhat crowded 
Staff were friendly and helpful
Rooms were reasonably clean
Busses easily accessible from the apartments with regular scheduling
Large supermarket practically next door

Some bad points:
Kitchenette sink was broken
Shower head stand was broken so myself and my partner either had to help each other or awkwardly try to shower with the shower head awkwardly propped up. The shower is also a tiny little box very close to the toilet and has an awful shower curtain that just clings to you.
The pool is A LOT smaller than it looks in photos and whilst we were there, most of the sun loungers were taken and pool could get rather busy so considering the size of the pool neither myself or my partner ended up going in.
The apartment/hotel is located in a somewhat slummy, not very pleasant area and is situated along a rather busy road with constant motorcycles being heard throughout the night.

BE WARNED: They charge a significant amount for the air conditioning, it is NOT free as it may seem if you book through TUI and you may find yourself struggling to sleep without it. I went early September and it was still around 25 degrees at night but we are Brits and so we stubbornly refused to pay 😅


Numar - about average

We arrived at 2am and was greeted by Ged who was very enthusiastic and friendly.
Our room was bigger than expected and was clean with comfortable beds. The shower area was clean but small , there was plenty of hot powerful water. 
The swimming pool is fairly small but adequate for the 28 rooms it caters for. The beach and local village where u will find the restaurants are a good 20 minutes walk away in opposite directions, so be prepared to walk alot.
There is a pool bar open for food 8-4 then drinks only up to about 12.
The foods snd drink is good quality at a fair price. 
It is a friendly place to stay and a good location if you want to explore the whole island by rental car. There is a bus service to lindos and up to faliraki and rhodes town.
I would recommend this place as long as you are prepared to do some walking or get transport. As there is very little else near to the hotel except a very good supermarket.

Small and friendly

I stayed here with my friend in October of 2022. We were the youngest people staying here but we’re made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff at nimar. The hotel is in a decent location with a bus stop just a 5 minute walk away going to mostly anywhere in rhodes. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of wine which I thought was a nice gesture. The hotel is intimate and friendly. The pool was clean, as was the restaraunt. The rooms( which were very spacious) are cleaned and tidied, with towels replaced every day except Sunday. The food here was very good, as was the selection of drinks, especially for the price. Irene was especially amazing at giving us a great stay, she was helpful, seemed genuinely interested in how everybody’s stay was going and even helped us in getting a bus timetable. Would definitely recommend you stay here, especially if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday

Amazing

The hotel was excellent so clean, good view from our balcony, staff amazing so qhelpful, only 1 down fall they did not sell mythos . We like to have a mythos at lunch but unfortunately not to be we was not impressed with the other beers on offer so the hotel probably lost out on around. 200euro over the 2 week period  we were there . Just wish the hotel had been a little closer to the village  but we classed the walk to the village our daily keep fit regime thank u so much Ron and Jacqui Hayman sheffield

Booked a last minute break to this small boutique hotel.  We had a really good time and met some wonderful people. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Jed certainly made us laugh. The rooms are basic but functional. The only comment I could add is probably the addition of a microwave for the self catering people.

Last minute break

What an amazing 11 nights we had. From start to finish, Jed, Billy, Terry, Irene, Poppy and Christina (hope I spelt those right!) treated us like family. It was such a different experience to any other holiday we’ve been on. We were lucky to also make some fantastic friends from Leeds. I do think getting all the guests together to have a free drink on arrival works wonders. 

We loved the quiz, the food, the pool and how the supermarket was just next door. Trips to Faliraki, Rhodes and Lindos were cheap, with Rhodes being our favourite. Rhonda beach bar was fantastic - we booked through Instagram and had the best time.

Whilst this isn’t a 5* hotel, it makes up for it in other ways and becomes a 5* experience. You switch off from the noisy road and can relax around the pool. There’s always free sunbeds and the pool was so cold, it was perfect, especially on the days with the heatwave. 

I’d really recommend going into Afandou town and eating in Sergios. The pizzas were unbelievable.

We paid £40pp for the Lindos boat trip through the TUI app and loved it. They picked us up outside of our hotel at 7:30. We had 3 hours to explore Lindos and we were able to jump off the boat into the sea in different spots. They even had floats for everyone.

& A big thank you to Ged and Billy for all of the laughs and late nights. We hope you enjoy your time away once the holiday season is over.
