Beautiful, modern hotel with excellent service. From the owner of the business to the last employee, they made you feel like you were living in your own family home.

Fantastic location

I must say; our "Senior Room" was probably one of the best rooms we've had in our travels! We each had our own bathroom (bliss for a couple) our own pool (wow) and a deck with a view of Hora and the harbor.  Have to say we loved our Hostess Olga Sophia who was both informative and fun to talk to! The beach is a ten minute walk from the hotel and town is close, but if you're not a fan of the heat or hiking, and/or want to experience other eateries (though the Rizes offers great food too) rent a car to get around.  

Great Room and staff

The restaurant is a hidden gem. Amazing food, amazing service and the best view in town. We visit the restaurant after a recommendation from a friend and we had an excellent experience. On the negative please advertise the restaurant so more people know about it.

Serifos hidden gem.

A most beautiful hotel overlooking the port and offering amazing views of the Chora and surrounding beaches. The design is minimalistic and respectful to the surroundings and the architecture of the Cycladic islands. It is located in a place that provides easy access getting around the island. 
We stayed at the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with the private pool. It was spacious, well equipped and beautiful. Not to mention, it was very well priced. Although we are Greeks we live in the US. I am tired of people complaining that they overpay in Greece. A similar resort in the Caribbean would have cost  at least 4 times more, and the surroundings would not be as beautiful at the Greek islands.
The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to help us. We tried dinner there and we loved it! The breakfast is good but they could add to it. It was a special treat that  you could have any coffee you want at breakfast so I loved my espresso fredos. We highly recommend it and would definitely go back. Thank you for an amazing stay.

The best place to stay in Serifos

Me and my wife stayed in Rizes hotel for 8 days, during the middle of July 2022.
We found the hotel to be very clean, quite cared off  and with a very pleasant minimalistic design and decoration that was matching with the prevailing Greek island aura of Serifos island. 

Location:
The location is very good. 
It is far from the port town noise, where all the island's action is, but only 5 min away by car. 
The Agios Sostis beach, one of  island's best, is only 2 minutes away by car or a 15 minute walk in case that a vehicle is not available.
The view is quite good. The hotel is located at a hill overlooking the area from the Livadi bay up to the city of Serifos.

Rooms:
Me and my wife stayed in an "apartment" room. 
Although it was advertised as a "2 adults +2 children" room, it was actually just a spacious  double room. 
The room's decoration and arrangement was quite pleasant and functional, matching the design concept of the hotel.
The bathroom was very spacious, with modern fixtures and spot clean. There were bathroom amenities and a hair dryer available.

Although there was a sink and some dishware, there were no any kitchen cabinet and most important, the fridge was of the mini-bar type (this was quite a turn-off for us, since we couldn't stock any fruits or refreshments). 
There was a Dolce Gusto coffee machine in the room, with complementary coffee capsules renewed every 2 days.
There was no any kettle available (just an electric open-top pot).

I found the bed mattress and  pillows to be at the soft side, however, I understand that this is absolutely objective.

The room was cleaned on daily basis, and the  bed linen were changed every other day.

The room had a large private balcony, with quite good privacy from the other hotel occupants, with a very nice view.

Breakfast:
The breakfast can be described as sufficient. 
There was no much variety, considering the room rate, however, everything were fresh, well made and delicious. 

Parking:
Free parking is available within the hotel premises.

Pool:
We haven't tried the pool, however is of a adequate size and with a fabulous view.

General Verdict:
The hotel is very good and one of the best options in Serifos island. 
However, I think that it is quite overpriced.

One of the best (and expensive) options when in Serifos island

We were Photoshooting a wedding party.
Their behaviour was insulting to the least!
We have been to some of the most respected resorts and venues around Greece, where everyone treated us with respect, thoughtfulness and mostly professionalism.

Unprofessional

Traditional cycladic architecture, minimal decoration, ideal for relaxing holiday, comfortable rooms with nice terrace.
The top notch is the restaurant, by far the best on the island.
Stunning views to the sea!

Loved this place!

This was our second stay in the last 4 years. The location is superb, away from the port hustle but only 5 min away by car. The view is astonishing, the room was very spacious and nice. Service was polite and prompt.
Breakfast has improved since last time.
Wifi was fast.
There were only 2 issues:
1. Cleaning could be better and more detailed.
2. I found the bed mattress quite soft, but this is subjective.

Very nice stay in Serifos

A mildly disappointing six night stay at the end of July.  I should have read the warning signs when making the reservation seven months in advance, in January. Usually an automated confirmation tends to be followed by a personal message from the reservations manager; not in this case.  A couple of questions regarding the room set-up remained unanswered for three weeks.  After several prompts, we finally received an email confirming that the room we had booked was a family suite with one double and two full single beds (not sofa beds). Not a word about any additional supplements so you can imagine our surprise when on the final day of our stay, upon settling the bill, we were charged not the agreed and confirmed €230 per night, but €310 (because the children are apparently charged an additional supplement).  The hotel staff had seven months at their disposal to state this, but didn’t.  A half-way compromise was reached, but the incident left us with a bitter taste.  
In any case, the rest of the stay was far from outstanding.  The hotel infrastructure is lovely, the views beautiful and the rooms really comfortable and clean - although I question the existence of such a poorly equipped kitchenette that is good for nothing; a simple kettle would have been preferable to taking 15 minutes to boil water for a cup of tea on an ancient stove (I should add that there is an espresso machine).  
The main issue for me was the heavy ambiance, as a result of which we did not want to spend any time at the bar or restaurant.  Some staff looked fairly miserable and never said a word unless spoken to, and some not even then (I hasten to add that the lady supervising the breakfast is a very pleasant person, as is her son who works at the bar in the evenings.  At some point he brought us two unsolicited glasses of water, but by then we were so surprised with the hospitable gesture that we thought it had been a mistake).  
The quality of the breakfast was mixed: nice pies, but terrible coffee and truly awful juices out of a carton; moreover, you had to constantly fight off the wasps.  The disappointing start to the day meant that we were discouraged from spending more time at the hotel, including taking our meals there, until the final day when we had lunch and we saw that it was actually quite good.  The pool was nice but with very few sun-beds and the limited hours it was open for use, you got the impression it was meant to look stylish but swimming was not really encouraged.  The owner was always around, working hard to maintain the facilities, and wished us “good morning” regularly but never asked if everything was alright with our stay.  Besides, his first words to us upon arrival had been to bark at us for parking at the day guest parking area when we should have parked by our room (the location of which we still did not know).  A strange way to greet your guests that had left us wondering if we were at all welcome.  
Checkin had been a bit chaotic: as arranged, we were met by the reservations manager at the harbour, but she had brought a car rental with her for us when in fact, all we had asked in an email was whether in their opinion renting a car was necessary (we enjoy walking but given the July heat, we thought of asking for advice).  Anyway, we decided to keep the car that we had not originally intended to rent, and I am glad we did because there is no way you can stay at Rizes without a car, not if you want to visit the island beaches and restaurants.  Once at the hotel, we were not offered a glass of water, which is the least a hotel of that standard and price bracket should be offering by way of welcome.  As the  morning boat arrives to the island before we could officially check in, we were encouraged to head to the beach, and told that our bags would be moved to our room in our absence.  Five hours later, we returned to find them still in reception.  Small things like that go to show how good infrastructure is not enough in the hospitality business, the clue is in the name.  And we can see that the main point of contact at reservations is a friendly and cheerful soul, who goes or her way to be helpful.  However we were left with the feeling that she is the only person managing reservations, arrivals, departures and indeed most other aspects of running this hotel.  This may be fine at the beginning of the season but to us, she appeared overburdened and we would have expected a more professional service.  Given the last-minute surprise with the price increase, I would not say you get value for money and so I hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Good intent but understaffed and undertrained?

It is our fourth year staying in Rizes and it always is a very positive experience. The hotel is above the busy port and walking distance from Psili Ammos beach. A car is necessary to get around the island.
Rooms all have a view on Chora and the sea and their own terrace. They are comfortable even though some minor details could be improved. Bathrooms are small and there are little hanging and storing places for clothes. Meals are taken on the beautiful terrace next to the pool. Food is overall good but more variety could be welcome. Great cocktails and a variety of local wines. 
Olga is a welcoming manager and definitely gets out of her way to be helpful. Yoga and massages are available upon request.
